July 25 History National Hot Fudge Sundae Day

Ridley's Believe It Or Not—July 25, 2014:  Another meager day of holidays but you are probably on vacation anyway and do not need the time off. Hope you enjoy what is posted, along with the factoids and quote from one of the great song writers of all times Bob Dylan with a smile on your face and a spoon in a hot fudge sundae.
           1. Culinarians Day —celebrating for this highly evolved omnivore those great humans who love to cook and share their creations.
           2. Sweetness Day—commemorating the birthday of Walter Payton on this day in 1954 one of the greatest running backs ever to play professional football who died way too early at the age of 45 from a rare liver disease. He was known as “Sweetness.”
           3. National Hot Fudge Sundae Day—head down to your nearest Dairy Queen to celebrate this great holiday.
           4. National Talk in an Elevator Day—celebrating those entrepreneurs who practice the elevator pitch seeking funding for their dream and those otherwise shy people who break the elevator silence and say hello to their fellow  passengers.
On this day in:
           a. 1961 JFK announced in a real red line in the sand speech that an attack on Berlin was an attack on NATO which included the United States.
           b. 1965 Bob Dylan went electric at the Newport Festival marking a major shift in pop music.
           c. 1978 Louise Brown, the world’s first test tube baby, was born.
           d. 2010 WikiLeaks released the largest classified military documents in our history pertaining to the war in Afghanistan.
Spend more time listening to poets, less to politicians: “I consider myself a poet first and a musician second. I live like a poet and I’ll die as a poet.” Bob Dylan Right on!
