Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 31, 2018 CBS is appointing an outside law firm to look into allegations of sexual misconduct by Les Moonves (he has a lot to lose with an annual salary of $70 million); Mollie Tibbets, the University of Iowa student is still missing after two weeks; on the crime front McDonald’s was scammed to the tune of $24 million by an ex-cop providing security for its Monopoly game promotion; on the hypocrisy front leftist director of the Guardians of the Galaxy who was fired by Disney for his pedophile tweets is being supported by his artistic friends in stark contrast to stars who fled from Roseanne Barr like she was radioactive; Dak Prescott, the QB for the Dallas Cowboys has slammed Collin Kaepernick for his kneeling protests during the national anthem and has been slammed as an “Uncle Tom” by the left; Chicago is gearing up for a major protest against gun violence in the city and demanding that the pathetic mayor Rahm Emanuel resign due to his being MIA in addressing the violence; on the why we need a wall front Mario Sanchez-Ochea who has been deported 5 times was arrested for his third DUI; on the academic intolerance front, two professors have resigned from the UVA’s Miller Center for Public Affairs after it had hired Marc Short a former Trump aide; through July 30, 2018, 1707 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 277 have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will Rahm Emanuel resign?).

Reflections on whistle blowers: “Curmudgeons speak up because they have to, because it’s become critically important for them to tell the truth as they see it. Telling the truth is as natural to them once more as it was when they were children. The fact that no one cares to listen is inconsequential. Curmudgeons speak up, raise their voices, stand for something too right to be silent about anymore, whatever the cost, despite a world that deals with what it doesn't want to hear by crucifying the messenger.
Increasingly these days, they're being called by another name: whistleblower.” Lionel Fisher, noted author and
columnist,

July 27, 2018 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National Korean War Veterans Armistice

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 27, 2018 Very troubling news of a spike in death threats to members of Congress and their families along with a spike in death threats to heads of federal agencies (although the majority of death threats are directed toward Reds, it is time to tone down the rhetoric and the dog whistles of violence on both sides before real people serving their country start getting killed or maimed); North Korea has returned remains of servicemen killed in the Korean War as promised in the Singapore Summit; on the reptilian braind front, the president of CBS, Lee Moonves, has been accused of sexual misconduct; on the Fox News Front, news out of the Huff Post that Kimberley Guilfoyle’s departure from Fox was not voluntary but the result of misconduct (wish her well at the pro Trump PAC she is going to and she will be missed on The Five); the United Nations which is becoming an anti-U.S. and anti-Israel debating society supposedly is running out of cash and appealing to member nations to come to the rescue (hopefully the U.S. will have a deaf ear); the U.S. economy in the second quarter surged at a 4.1% growth rate (talk about crumbs Pelosi); the Carr wildfire burning north of Sacramento has jumped the Sacramento River and burning 33,000 acres with a 3 % containment is racing toward the city of Redding; although Putin will not be coming to the U.S. before the elections, Trump has indicated a willingness to visit Moscow (given the hysteria from the left on the Helsinki Summit may not be a good idea); through July 26, 2018, 1649 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 266 have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color?).
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to the Kay Kyser and His Orchestra,  factoids of interest for this day in history, the fact that you are not being exposed to any mizzle; a relevant quote from Peggy Fleming on role of parents in her career as a skater, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like college graduations, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient.     Reflections on skating by one very famous American skater: “I wouldn't have started skating if it weren't for my Dad, but I became a skater because of my mom. It is not stretching the point to say, 'We became a skater,' two people, one pair of skates. We each had a job to do to make me a champion skater, and I certainly didn't do it on my own.” Peggy Fleming

July 24, 2018 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National Thermal Engineers Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 24, 2018 Trump spoke at the VFW Convention to rousing cheers and applause as he touted the growth of the economy fueled by the tax cut which every Blue voted against, castigated Democrats for wanting open borders and the abolishment of ICE and in a touching moment invited a 94 year old vet up to the stage and welcomed him to the Oval Office on his 95th birthday in April (he also castigated the Blues who voted against confirming Robert Wilkiee who was confirmed 86-9); Senator Claire McCaskill locked in a tight race to keep her Senate seat was hit with a damaging report of her husband’s affordable housing business being the recipient of $131 million in subsidies (no evidence showing she was involved in directing the subsidies to her husband but the optics stink and reinforce the idea that the Swamp exists to further the wealth of politicians and their relatives and allies);  that once beautiful city by the bay, San Francisco, destroyed by drugs, criminal illegals and homelessness is registering undocumented aliens (PC be damned illegal aliens) to be able to vote in school board elections—most likely just the first step in giving them the right to vote in state elections to elect more Democrats; Clare Bronfam, multimillionaire heiress to the Seagram fortune, was arrested along with three others for their involvement with NXIVM which has been charged with conspiracy to commit crimes like identity theft, harboring of aliens for financial gain, extortion, forced labor, sex trafficking, money laundering, wire fraud and obstruction of justice; clueless Behar and Meghan McCain clashed on The View over the Blues being taken over by Socialists with Behar likening Socialists to liberals and McCain castigating their policies (just look to Venezuela to see the disaster of socialistic policies); Ivanka Trump, frustrated over the restrictions she had placed on her fashion company to avoid conflict of interest while she serves in the White House, has shut the company down; the Ninth Circuit may be reading the tea leaves of the shift in SCOTUS configuration ruled again in favor of the 2nd Amendment ruling that it applies outside the home as well; through July 23, 2018, 1623 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 261 have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color?).
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to the Ink Spots,  factoids of interest for this day in history, the fact that you are not the subject of misprise; a relevant quote from Karl Malone, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like college graduations, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 23, 2018 Senator Rand Paul has written Trump demanding that John Brennan infamous for claiming ridiculously that Trump had committed treason for disbelieving his intel during the joint press conference in Helsinki lose his security clearance as he is monetizing it by being a pundit for MSNBC; bowing to threats of impeachment the FBI has released the FISA warrant application on Carter Page which is heavily redacted but does show the Steele dossier paid for by the DNC and the HRC was the foundation for the issuance of the warrant (the only collusion in the campaign was between HRC and the Russians providing unverified and false information on Trump to her campaign and what the FBI did should scare the living daylights of all Americans regardless of political affiliation); Sacha Cohen duped another victim, Republican state representative Jason Spencer to drop his pants and use the n-word on his show, prompting calls from both sides of the aisle for his resignation (how stupid can a person be); a 20 foot long pregnant Great White nicknamed Deep Blue was caught on camera of the coast of Baja California by cameramen in a shark cage filming for Shark Week:

Leftist comedian Trevor Noah is in hot water after a video has resurfaced of his mocking and demeaning indigenous women in Australia; on the Stormy Daniels front, the aging porn star and her husband have filed for divorce; no wonder Chicago when it comes to politics is viewed as the corrupt capital of the world as mayoral candidate Willie Wilson handed out $300,000 in cash to churchgoers (voters) on Sunday; on the journalism front The New York Daily News noted for its anti-Trump first pages has fired half of its staff and its top editor;
through July 22, 2018, 1604 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 260 have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color?).

2.  Hot Enough for Ya Day—celebrating a whimsical holiday which if on the West Coast, the answer today would be yes as much of Southern California is sweltering under triple digit temperatures.
3. 1945 Number One Song— the number one song in 1945 on a run of 7 weeks in that position was “On The Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe” by Johnny Mercer. Here is a recording of the song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmBKHSZ1pcU
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “misocapnic” which means hating tobacco and its smoke which is a good attitude to have if we are ever going to cut down on deaths from lung cancer.
5. To Bring Down A President—celebrating the birth on this day in 1973 of former White House intern Monica Lewinsky whose affair with Bill Clinton did not result in impeachment only embarrassment; she was vilified by Clinton and his allies and history should record her as the true victim of this sexual predator.
    On this day in:
a. 1885 a heavy cigar smoker, Ulysses S. Grant died of throat cancer.
b. 1962 Telstar relayed the first Trans-Atlantic television broadcast which featured Walter Cronkite.
c. 1967 rioting began on 12th Street in a predominantly African American section of Detroit    which when it ended 5 days later had resulted in 43 deaths, over 1,000 people injured, over 7,000 arrests and some 2000 buildings damaged.
d. 1992 near Santa Clarita, California actor Vic Morrow and two children are killed when a helicopter crashes into them while filming the movie: Twilight Zone: The Movie.
e. 1992 a Vatican commission led by Joseph Ratzinger established that limiting certain rights of homosexuals and non-married couples was not the equivalence of discrimination on race or gender.
Reflections on Bill Clinton: “When I think of the person that I thought was Bill Clinton, I think he had genuine remorse. When I think of the person that I now see is 100 percent politician, I think he's sorry he got caught.”  Monica Lewinsky Wise words from the real victim in this case who like the other victims of Clintons reptilian brain have been vilified by HRC and the MSM, in a true war on women.
