Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 5, 2018 Speculation over who Trump will nominated to replace Justice Kennedy grows as the list of potential nominees has narrowed to three as the left melts down in scare tactics that Roe v. Wade will be overturned; the embattled head of the EPA has resigned but hopefully his successor will continue the dismantling of job killing, anti-business EPA regulations; in another example of the chilling power of social media giants like Facebook to stifle free speech disturbing news that Facebook algorithms have blocked a portion of the Declaration of Independence; an activist protesting Trump’s immigration policies scaled the base of the Statue of Liberty and was arrested on the 4th of July; on the election front Florida is facing legal challenge over its refusal to restore voting rights to convicted felons; in the U.K. police are investigating two cases of nerve gas poisoning; Trump is off to Montana for a rally to ouster Blue Senator Hester in his bid to increase the number of Red Senators; a new video shows the Thai soccer team trapped in a flood cave appearing happy and healthy while awaiting rescue (hopefully no more monsoon rains that flooded the cave will occur); on the trade front, U.S. whiskey distillers are fearful that retaliatory tariffs being imposed against them will stifle the boom in whiskey exports; in Chicago through July 4, 2018, 1421 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 221 have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color?).

b. 1971 the 26th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified lowering the voting age in federal elections from 21 to 18.
c. 1975 Arthur Ashe became the first black player to win the championship at Wimbledon.
d. 1989 Oliver North was sentenced, later overturned, for his role in the Iran-Contra affair.
e. 1996 Dolly, a sheep, became the first animal to be cloned.
