Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 3, 2018 Obama’s guidance policies of using race as a factor in college admissions have been overturned by the DOJ; Trump has interviewed four candidates to replace Justice Kennedy, including Amy Barrett of the 7th Circuit who was slammed by Senator Feinstein for her Catholic faith during her confirmation proceedings for the 7th Circuit; U Mass has ended a lawsuit against its policy of limiting speeches and rallies to one hour on either side of the student union building there by dropping the policy (a win for free speech that is under attack on too many college campuses); Andrea Mitchell’s leftist bias has been exposed once again in her misquoting of a statute she used to justify an attack on Trump for his negative tweets against Senators Warren and Harris; Facebook has been slammed for censoring Wes Cook Band’s patriotic song “I Stand for the Flag” while the FBI, FCC and SEC have just announced they have joined the probe of Facebook’s sharing of data of 71 million users with Cambridge Analytica; the Las Vegas Police Department has released more video showing its officer taking cover on the 31st floor and not moving up to the sound of gunfire coming from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay for minutes (the officers look paralyzed by fear while people on the ground are being killed and wounded); Barnes and Noble fired its CEO Parneros without severance pay for violation of company policies not financial reporting or fraud (wonder if the reptilian brain has struck again); FLOTUS has made an unannounced trip to visit patients at Walter Reed Medical Center which was the recipient of food donated by the White House for the cancelled Congressional Picnic; in Chicago through July 2, 2018, 1406 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 220 have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color?).

Leak Like a Sieve—celebrating or bemoaning depending on your political point of view the birthday on this day in 1971 of Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks and famous for leaking thousands of emails from the DNC and HRC campaign and who resides in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to avoid extradition since 2012.
On this day in:
a. 1863 the Battle of Gettysburg ended with Pickett’s Charge which failed and marked the high water mark of the Confederacy.
b. 1913 Confederate Veterans at the Great Reunion held at the Battle of Gettysburg reenacted Pickett’s Charge and upon reaching the top of Cemetery Hill were met with the outstretched hands of Union Veterans.
c. 1938 President Roosevelt dedicated the Eternal Light Peace Memorial at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
d. 1979 President Jimmy Carter signed a secret directive to provide aid to rebels in Afghanistan fighting the pro Soviet government.
e. 1988 the USS Vincennes shot down by mistake Iran Air Flight 655 over the Persian Gulf, killing all 290 people on board.
