      2. National Made in the U.S.A. Day—celebrating not Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, but rather the efforts of Made in U.S.A. Foundation to promote the purchase goods made here.
       3. 1981 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1981 on a four week run at that position, Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes. Here is a link to her performing the hit song Bette Davis Eyes with an apology for the inane ads in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPOIS5taqA8

        5.  And You Won’t Stink—celebrating the birthday on this day in 1937 of legendary NASCAR driver who in retirement is joining another legend Johnnie Bench in hawking Blue Emu Pain Relieving Cream.
On this day in:

       b. 1890 the U.S. Congress passed the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.
       c. 1937 aviatrix Amelia Earhart and her navigator were last heard from over the Pacific trying to attempt an equatorial round the world flight.
       d. 1962 the first Wal-Mart store opened in Rogers, Arkansas.

Reflections on courage and fears from one very brave woman whose plance and body were never found:  “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.” Amelia Earhart
