         3. 1959 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1959 on a long run of nine weeks in that position Mack The Knife by Bobby Darrin. Here is a link to Bobby Darrin performing  Mack The Knife:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEllHMWkXEU
         4. National Cotton Candy Day—celebrating another great way to get one’s sugar although one would think this is more of a summer time treat usually enjoyed at a county fair.
         5. Taxis Will Never Be Complete Lost To Uber—celebrating the birthday on this day in 1942 of an iconic pop singer and humanitarian Harry Chapin who gave us such songs as Taxi and Cat’s In The Cradle who died way too early in a traffic accident after suffering a heart attack at the age of 38.
On this day in:

         d. 1987 Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight 1771 crashed near Paso Robles after a disgruntled ex-employee shot his former boss then killed both pilots before turning the gun on himself, leaving the remaining passengers a few minutes of terror before the plane crashed and killed all on board.
         e. 1988 in a what took you so long moment, Yasser Arafat recognized the right of Israel to exist.
Reflections on what a single man can do to improve the quality of life of all:
Oh if a man tried
To take his time on Earth
And prove before he died
What one man's life could be worth
I wonder what would happen
to this world Harry Chapin’s epitaph
