c. 1964 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the case of the Heart of Atlanta Motel v. United States that the Congress had the right to ban discrimination in public accommodations pursuant to the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.
d. 1967 DNA was replicated in a test tube for the first time.
e. 1986 Voyager piloted by Dick Rutan and Jeana Yeager took off from Edwards Air Force Base on the first nonstop, nonrefueled flight around the world to land back on December 23, 1986 after 9 days, 3 minutes and 44 seconds later.
