May 6, 2017 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Infidelity Hurts Awareness Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For May 6, 2017  With the ACHA passed and now en enroute to the Senate, the Blues have gone into rabid spin mode and fear mongering that thousands upon thousands of Americans will die if the bill becomes law (get  ready for a slew of ads of morticians licking their chops over Trumpcare bogus  higher death rates)  and especially attacks over  the cutting of $ 1 trillion in Obamacare taxes like the tax for not paying for Obamacare insurance or going to a tanning salon which with straight faces the Blues were claiming were going to be a massive benefit for the rich only (amazing that they are excoriating Trump for not waiting until the CBO had not scored the bill but were silent when Pelosi made her infamous statement: “We have to pass the bill to determine what is in it.”); Marcon in a bitter campaign with le Pen has had his email account hacked but unlike Hillary, French law prohibits him from commenting on the hack as campaigning has ceased (why is it that European campaigns last a few months which eliminates the need to raise huge sums of money and also eliminates the influence of lobbyists who raise that money); State Department has published for comment proposed expanded inquiries to vet applicants visas (may not be far enough as user names are required but not passwords); UC Santa Cruz caved in to black students who “reclaimed” (euphemism for occupied) an administration building for three days demanding mandatory diversification classes, and  four year campus housing for underrepresented minorities (a term that excludes conservative  students it would seem); after 8 years of Obama funding attacks against the military, thank God we have Trump as opposed to his clone as U.S. dismissed Russia’s announcement that U.S. aircraft striking ISIS in those zones were banned (so much for the left’s asinine claims that Trump would be a pawn of Putin); almost like a stuck record or a remake of Groundhog Day, Chicago style,  the carnage in Chicago continued unabated in May  with total shootings in 2017 through May 5 increasing  to 1076 with the death toll after three days of no fatalities rising by one to 184.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Maroon 5, factoids of interest for this day in history, happy that your marriage or relationships are free from infidelity one, a relevant quote from the Alaskanpoet, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. International No Diet Daycreated by Mary Evans Young in the UK in 1992 to promote acceptance of diversity of body shapes but candidly in the age of growing obesity with all its attendant problems like diabetes, arthritis and heart attacks other than diets that seek impossible to achieve or retain weights sought, this is one observance to be ignored. If you see someone most likely over weight, wearing a pale blue ribbon, that person is probably observing the day.
2. Infidelity Hurts Awareness Day—created by Christine Ferguson to create awareness that infidelity destroys relationships and children and that the grass on the other side of the fence is not greener, it is just grass but the grass left behind especially the young shoots become very brown.
3. 2008 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 2008 on a run of 3 weeks in that position “Makes Me Wonder” by Maroon 5. Here is a recording of Maroon 5 performing the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAebYQgy4n4    (refreshing not to have to listen to rap like we have been in the last few days).
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “alcazar” which is a Spanish fort or palace. 5. Say Hey Kid No Longer One—celebrating the birth on this day in 1931 of Willie Mays noted slugger and outfielder for the Giants still going strong at 86 today.
On this day in:
a. 1757 in a government response in contradiction to his name, the English poet Christopher Smart was admitted to St. Luke’s Hospital for Lunatics in London to begin his six year confinement in asylums.
b. 1983 the Hitler Diaries previously published by Der Spiegel were proven to be a hoax.
c. 1994 Queen Elisabeth II and French Premier Francois Mitterrand officiated at the opening of the Chunnel, the undersea tunnel linking France and England.
d. 1996 former director of the CIA William Colby’s body was found washed up on a river bank of a tributary to the Potomac, seven days after he had disappeared during a solo canoe trip.
e. 1997 the Bank of England, like our Federal Reserve, was given independence from political control.
Reflections on infidelity: “An “open” marriage or “open” relationship is not open but a one way door closed to bar the entry of trust, intimacy and lasting love but open to the exit of trust, intimacy and lasting love.” Alaskanpoet. Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet and follow me) and follow my blogs.
