Not For May 18, 2017 More drama in the
Swamp surrounding Flynn and his foreign lobbying entanglements now with Turkey
and his opposition to a plan to attack ISIS that Turkey opposed (who ever
vetted Flynn did a terrible job); Turkey is in the news quite unfavorably due
to the fact that Turkish police protecting Erdogan ruthlessly attacked
protestors outside the Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C.; with the
appointment of Robert Mueller by the DOJ as a special prosecutor to investigate
any charges of collusion of the Trump campaign with Russia, one can only hope
that the irresponsible impeachment cries of the frothing Blues will subside and
the Trump job creating agenda of lower taxes, repatriation, Obamacare
replacement and reduced regulations can move forward again with full steam; the
unmasking big brother mentality of the Obama Administration is growing beyond
the serial liar Susan Rice (the video queen) and should hopefully produce
indictments maybe even of Obama who in his legacy preservation quest may have
authorized the effort; almost a stuck record or a remake of Groundhog Day, Chicago style, the
carnage in Chicago continued unabated in May with total shootings in 2017 through May 17
increasing by 7 to 1211 and the death toll increasing by 2 to 209, a major
tragedy that the powers to be in Chicago seem to completely ignore.

4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “iatraphobia”
which means the fear of going to a doctor which given the costs and problems
with going to a hospital as a breeding ground for super staph infections may be
a justified phobia.
5. Sarah
May See Russia But Tina Sees Stardom—celebrating the birth on
this day in 1970 of that iconic comedian Tina Fey whose impersonation of Sarah
Palin took SNL ratings off the charts.

a. 1896 SCOTUS in one of
its worst decisions in the case of Plessy v. Ferguson ruIed that the
doctrine of “separate but equal” was constitutional although separate was
established, equal was a complete delusion that took the court 59 years to
rectify its mistake to the detriment of the education of millions of Afro
Americans in the South.
b. 1917 the Selective
Service Act of 1917 was passed which gave the president the powers of conscription
and enabled us to raise the forces necessary to enter World War I.
c. 1933 in a great day
for the supporters of electricity, President Roosevelt signed legislation
approving the Tennessee Valley Authority.
d. 1974 India under the
code name Smiling Buddha successfully detonated a nuclear weapon to become the
6th member of the nuclear club.
e. 1980 Mount St. Helens
erupted killing 57 people and causing $3 billion in property damage and spewing
volcanic ash into states as far away as Montana.
