April 23, 2017 Ridley's Believe It Or Not World Book Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For April 23, 2017  The fat lunatic in North Korea is ranting he will destroy the USS Vinson and its task force heading to North Korea from Australia while photos are released of his luxurious palace where he and his lackeys are splurging on great food and wine while the nation starves (where is our propaganda to alert the people of the Hermit Kingdom of the excesses of this madman who is causing their day to day suffering?); ironic that the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement, UC Berkeley, is in the tempest over Ann Coulter’s speech planned for April 27 as news that the conservative group who invited her will be filing suit in federal court if Cal blocks her speech (no wonder the Trump administration is considering blocking further funding to the university but even more refreshing is the defense of her right to speak by Bill Maher); more news of the tension between Comey and Lynch over the FBI’s handling of the email probe of Hillary Clinton’s private email server (not sure if the nation is ready of more investigations of her but the issue of quid pro quo especially the uranium deal, Clinton Foundation donations and Bill Clinton’s speaking fee in Moscow should be looked at in a bipartisan manner by Sessions); the EU bureaucrats are on pins and needles as the French vote today with one candidate who appears to be leading and who has been helped by the latest Islamist attack in Paris, le Pen, is in favor of aping Britain with respect to the EU; almost like a stuck record or a remake of Groundhog Day, Chicago style,  the carnage in Chicago continues unabated with total shootings in 2017  through April 21, 2017 increasing to 982 and the death toll increasing to 168 (God help those poor minorities being shot mostly by minorities when the weather gets warmer and the shooters’ aim gets really better and there is more daylight to find and shoot victims) and yet nothing, absolutely nothing, appears to be occurring to address this blight on blacks and minorities which is what racism from a black mayor really looks like who appears to care only about the rights of illegal aliens in his sanctuary city  (when will Chicago residents through the city council try to impeach this pathetic, inept mayor?).
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Montell Jordan, factoids of interest for this day in history, a relevant quote from Louis Brandeis, hoping that you don’t fall for any illywhackers, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. Reflections on the English Language and its Americanization: “What is Americanization? It manifests itself, in a superficial way, when the immigrant adopts the clothes, the manners and the customs generally prevailing here. Far more important is the manifestation presented when he substitutes for his mother tongue the English language as the common medium of speech.” Louis D. Brandeis, noted U.S. Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet and follow me) and follow my blogs.
