Unfortunately, still 321 days to go in President Obama’s pathetic lame duck term but fortunately thanks to trainloads of snow from the the Fairbanks area, the Iditarod, the Last Great Race on Earth, kicks off today in Anchorage for its ceremonial start, albeit abbreviated to only three miles. c. 1948 Winston Churchill in a speech at Westminster College in Missouri used the phrase “Iron Curtain” to describe the Soviet Union’s actions in Eastern Europe.
d. 1975 the first meeting of the Home Brewing Club occurred at Sunnyvale, CA.
e. 2012 invisible Children released the movie Stop Kony 2012 to pressure the international community to arrest Joseph Kony, an Ugandan guerrilla leader notorious for using children as warrior in terrorist acts.
