Ridley's Believe It Or Not September 23, 2020
CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues with 383,081 new cases (a 1.21% increase compared to a .73% increase yesterday) to bring the total over 32 million to 32,017,684 cases, 7,467,770 of which are active, 24,549,914 of which have been closed with 23,570,526 recoveries (96.01% compared to yesterday’s 95.98%) and 979,388 deaths (3,99% compared to yesterday’s 4.02%) to continue the trend of increased recovery percentages and decreased mortality percentages.
CV USA Cases: New cases of 109,159 with total cases over 7 million at 7,019,847 (a 1.56% increase compared to yesterday’s .57% increase) with 2,542,195 active cases of which 14,101, on a downward trend with slight blips from a high of 19,155 on July 23 (14,071 yesterday and 15,881 on September 1), are in serious or critical condition as trend continues to go down, and 4,586,811 closures, 206,331 of which have been deaths (4.50% compared to yesterday’s 4.54%) and 4,380,480 of which have been recoveries (95.50% compared to yesterday’s 95.46%) (our death rate percentages continue to improve and are finally in single digits since Cuomo repealed on May 10 his order sending CV positive patients to nursing homes and ADL facilities and on a deaths per million population measurement at 623 ranks behind Peru (955), Belgium (858), Spain (664), Bolivia (657), Brazil (650), Chile (645), Ecuador (631), and UK (616) and only slightly worse than Italy (592) and Sweden (581) that never closed its economy down like we did and Mexico (575) which announced it has run out of death certificates due to surge in deaths. We have now conducted 100,257,347 (now at 302,484/M compared to Russia at 298,735/M so Trump is telling truth that we conduct more tests in number and on a per capital basis but for the U.K. at 332,758..
Non CV Case News: The grand jury in Louisville handed down a verdict charging on of the officers in the Breonna Taylor shooting with wanton disregard in the discharge of a weapon but no criminal charges and the city braces for riots with the National Guard deployed on scene (the wrath from the MSM was predictable with the decision being condemned and firebrands like Joyless Reid claiming it shows Black Lives Don’t Matter; the Kentucky AG David Cameron who is black is being ravaged by idiots who could not have read the grand jury report with such rhetoric as “he should stop eating ‘coon flakes’” or “he’s skinfolk but he’s not kinfolk” (proves what we have suspected a long time racism can be a two way street); McCarthy has railed back at the Botox Queen’s arrows rant to potentially impeach Trump for following his Constitutional authority to appoint judges by indicating if she is so stupid to do that as a means to try to stop the nomination of a replacement to fill the vacancy created by RBG’s death he will move to have her replaced as Speaker; Colin Kaepernick has chimed in on the Breonna Taylor verdict by claiming the police are part of a “white supremacist” organization and should be abolished to protect his people (tell that to the blacks in Chicago who are shot in droves by other blacks and would want more police not less to insure their safety); Bellamine College in Louisville concerned over the students’ feeling over the grand jury findings on the Breonna Taylor shooting has cancelled classes today and Thursday urging its students to recognize systematic racism.
Chicago/Baltimore Gun Violence: In Chicago as of September 22, 2020, the number of shootings increased to 3,119 of whom 532 have died (total travesty of BLM when blacks are shot and killed by blacks in droves and only sounds of silence and complete absence of any protests in front of City Hall demanding action to curb the killings and shootings); Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population and hoping against all hopes that 2020 will not be a record in terms of deaths but now seems to be shooting less and killing less and is now 291 behind Chicago at 241 murders (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been way more deadly and way more numerous than shootings by police or by random mass shootings which occur much less.

5. Needle Roulette—celebrating the birth on this day in 1954 of Charlie Barnett, an American actor and comedian who sadly enjoyed heroin and contracted AIDS from and infected needle and died too early on March 16, 1996 at age 41.
On this day in:

b. 1911 Earle Ovington became the first pilot to deliver mail from the U.S. Postal Service by air from Garden City, New York to Mineola, New York by circling at 500 feet above the post office and dropping a mail sack containing some 1280 postcards and 640 letters which burst on impact, scattering its contents.

e. 2019 the British travel company Thomas Cook Limited without warning filed for bankruptcy, stranding some 600,000 travelers worldwide, firing thousands of workers and leaving hotels holding the a $415 million bag.
Reflections on the the Thomas Cook Bankruptcy: “I’m quite sad because it’s an old company. The prices were all reasonable. The planes were clean. I don’t know which other companies I would go to.. But one thing I know for sure is that I won’t stop going on holiday because of this.” Julie Robsson, a Thomas Cook patron stranded in Palma de Mallorca due to cancellation of Thomas Cook flight now due to fly out of Palma de Mallorca on a chartered Titan Airways plane to Manchester, England following the cancellation of their Thomas Cook flight earlier in the day-a testament to the reason there will always be an England at least for holidays.
