Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For November 18, 2018 On the wildfire front the Camp Fire is now 55% contained as firefighters are slowly gaining ground and the death toll has risen to 76 with the number of people missing climbing from  over a 1,000 to 1276; the Woolsey Fire is now 88% contained after burning almost 100,000 acres, destroying 1130 structures and the death toll still standing at 3; Nelson has conceded to Scott in sharp contrast to Blue Abrams whose “concession” speech in Georgia admitted she did not have enough votes to require a runoff and threatened a federal lawsuit claiming voter suppression (the real threat of voter suppression is the voting by illegal aliens cancelling out Red votes by citizens); the Argentine submarine San Juan that disappeared on November 15, 2017 has been discovered imploded on the ocean floor almost 3,000 feet below the surface; Emanuel’s announcement that he will not seek reelection has not curbed the gun violence as through November 17, 2018, 2676 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 444 have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of mostly people of color by mostly people of color).

5. It’s All In The Name celebrating the birth on this day in 1945 of Wilma Mankiller, a women’s activist and the first female chief of the Cherokee Nation whose teepee was taken down for good at the age of 64.

a. 1961 the seeds of the tragedy that would become the Vietnam War were planted when President Kennedy sent 18,000 military advisers to South Vietnam.

b.  1978 Jim Jones at Jonestown, Guyana led 909 followers, including over 270 children, of the Peoples Temple, in a mass murder-suicide.

c. 1991 after 1763 days of confinement by Shiite kidnappers in Lebanon, Terry Waite was released. 

d. 1999  at Texas A&M University the Aggie bonfire collapsed killing 12 students and injuring 27 others.

e. 2003 the Massachusetts Supreme Council ruled that the state’s ban on same sex marriage was unconstitutional and gave the state 180 days to implement appropriate legislation to make Massachusetts the first state to permit same sex marriages.
