You need only contact me for details.
1. World Water Monitoring Day —established by the American Clean Water Foundation in 2003 to create global awareness on how the public can monitor the availability and quality of the water resources available to them—given the drought affecting us in California definitely an observance worth its weight in water.

2. National POW/MIA Recognition Day—created by Congress in 1998 to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action; an observance that Trump when he slammed McCain for being a prisoner of war obviously did not recognize.
3. 1983 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1983 on a surprisingly brief run of one week in that position Tell Her About It by Billy Joel. Here is a link to Billy Joel performing Tell Her About It: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0pM5dm--yQ
4. National Cheeseburger Day—celebrating a classic meal especially when served with all the condiments, like mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomatoes.
5. The Doctor Is In—celebrating the birthday on this day in 1951 of noted neurosurgeon and presidential candidate, Dr. Ben Carson. On this day in:
a. 1793 the cornerstone for the Capitol is laid by George Washington.
b. 1850 the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 requiring any fugitive slaves to be returned to their masters was enacted.
c. 1851 the first issue of The New York Daily Times, later to become The New York Times, was published.
d. 1927 the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) went on the air.
e. 2014 Scotland just barely rejects independence from England to remain in the United Kingdom, thereby condemning her neighbors to the south to continue to struggle trying to understand their Scottish brogues.
Reflections on the struggles of POWs: “American POWs from the last Iraq war, who were held prisoner and tortured by Iraq, are now being prevented by our government from suing the Iraqis who tortured them.” Dana Rohrabacher, Republican Congressman from Orange County. Pretty despicable observation but consistent with the abysmal treatment received by our veterans from the VA.
