CV
World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues the new year with
surging cases now over 98 million at 98,527,657 with 670,798 new cases (a .69% increase)
25,657,332 of which are active, 72,870,325 closed with 70,760,334
recoveries (97.10% and 97.10% yesterday) and 2,109,991 deaths (2.90% and 2.90%
yesterday) to continue the trend of increased cases with increased
recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some
plateaus.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 25 million at 25,100,750 with 215,694 new
cases (a .86%% increase) with 9,739,959
active cases of which 27,626 (.28% of active cases and a decrease now of 1,645
from a peak of 29,271 on December 31) are in serious or critical condition
15,576,485 closures, 422,550 of which have been deaths (2.71% and
2.71% yesterday) and 15,153,935 of which have been recoveries (97.29% and
97.29% yesterday). Our death rate percentage continues to improve and after
many months is now .19% lower than the world rate and .10% lower than Canada
which has the socialized type medicine Biden may well want to implement
here and on a deaths per million population measurement on a steady
climb to 1272 ranks behind Belgium (1775), UK (1410) which had passed us
despite leading world in testing), and Italy (1402) and only slightly worse
than Bulgaria (1263), Hungary (1224), Spain (1186), Peru (1182), Mexico (1127),
France (1112), Sweden (1086) that neve24r closed its economy down like we
did but has recently been experiencing a rapid rise in deaths, Switzerland (1037),
Argentina (1027), Brazil (999), Portugal (974), Chile (926), and Bolivia (830) and
we have now conducted 294,959,857 tests (now at 888,199/M compared to
Russia at 674,798M as we are conducting more tests in number and on a per capital
basis for all nations (other than those nations that contain small populations
like Bahrain, Denmark, Israel, Malta, Singapore and UAE) other than the
U.K. which remains off the testing charts with tests at 987,452/M. In the U.S.
as of 1/21/2021 18.4 million doses have been given, 939,973 per day in the last
week. In California 1,633,873 total doses given but typical of Newsom’s
ineptness, California ranks dead last in the percentage of doses administered
as a percentage of doses delivered to the state (37.3%). A long way to go to
get herd immunity but a start.
Non
CV Case News: Looks like the Saudis will be jumping for joy knowing the Biden
will wage a war on U.S. energy independence from volatile foreign sources with
the executive order killing the Keystone Pipeline being the first step which
will also boost consumption by switching delivery to less efficient railroads;
Biden’s infra structure plan has not been released but we already have a step
back with the Keystone Pipeline cancellation; any doubt that the MSM especially
the Washington Post is not a
propaganda arm of the DNC was removed after WAPO republished a 2019 article on
VP Harris but scrubbing some unfavorable remarks which scrubbing was caught and
spawned a good deal of outrage prompting WAPO to reinsert the material from the
2019 article; Hank Aaron, who broke Babe Ruth’s home run record on April 8,
1974 by hitting his 715th home run off of L.A. Dodger Al Downing has just died at 86; Boston College
may have started a trend on campuses encouraging its students to report on
violations of CV spreading prevention guidelines, including improper mask
wearing; Texas, which has the misfortune of sharing our porous border with
Mexico, has filed suit against Biden’s executive order freezing deportations
for 100 days (how many Americans will have to die during the freeze from the
hands of illegal alien criminals before Biden realizes the inanity of such order?);
while a lot of finger pointing is going on in the Swamp over the sending members
of the National Guard to parking garages, Red Representative Madison Cawthorn took
matters into his own hands and visited some of them with pizza and an offer to
sleep in his office; Biden is announcing a new focus on “domestic violent
extremism” as at the same time not word of the Antifa and BLM violence in
Portland and Seattle following the Inauguration (chilling thought that we are
moving toward a police state and with social media censorship conservative
voices that would be raised in protest are to be silenced); while Biden touts
the need to put Americans back to work, the nonpartisan CBO is claiming his executive
orders will cost at least 4 million jobs; on the 48 anniversary of Roe v. Wade
a chilling statistic that as a result an estimated 62 million abortions have
occurred and probably most likely disproportional in terms of enhanced numbers
in the black communities; the recall Gavin Newsom continues to gather
signatures over 1.2 million and enhanced by his failed policies the latest of
which is the disaster or a vaccine rollout, ranking last in terms of the percentage
of vaccines received actually administered and is fortunately moving forward to
the required goal of 1.5 million

Chicago/Baltimore Gun
Violence: HeyJackass.com is back to show that through January 20, 2021 in 2021,
gun violence involving persons of color shooting persons of color in Chicago is
alive and well with 168 persons shot of whom 35 have died.

1. Roe v. Wade Day—an
observing the landmark abortion rights case decided by SCOTUS on this day in
1973 which still divides this with a passion that seems not to have dimmed not
one lumen since its decision and an estimated 62 million abortions that have
followed.
2. National Activity
Professionals Day—created
in 1984 to honor and promote the work of those who create and lead the activities
in Assisted Living and Nursing Home Facilities that are so beneficial to residents
in the ending years of their lives.
3. 1990
Number One Song—the
number 1 song in 1990 on this day with a run of 3 weeks in that position was “How
Am I Supposed to Live without You” by Michael Bolton to join 25 other number 1
songs and 14 other acts with their first number one song. Here is a recording
of Michael Bolton singing “How Am I Supposed to Live without You”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwwbWp80EFQ
Bolton was born in 1953
and started recording in 1975 and is still performing and going strong today.
4.
Word
of the Day—today’s
word of the day is “pudor” which means a sense of shame a trait like yesterday’s
pudicity is a trait too often very rare in far too many people, especially
politicians and members of the MSM.
5. Still Spinning Heads—celebrating
the birthday on this day in 1959 of noted actress Linda Blair, best remembered
for her performance as Reagan in The Exorcist
and who is still performing on TV and the silver screen today.
On this day in:
a. 1947 KTLA, the first TV
station west of the Mississippi located in Los Angeles commenced operations.
b.
1970 a Boeing 747 operated by Pan American Airways, the first “jumbo” jet,
commenced commercial operations with a flight between New York’s JFK and London’s
Heathrow Airport.
c. 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica in
a Heavyweight Championship Fight between George Foreman and Joe Frazier, in order
prevent Frazier from being killed after being knocked to the canvas 6 times in
the first 2 rounds, the referee stopped the fight.
d. 1984 the Apple Macintosh, the
first consumer computer with a graphic interface and mouse was introduced in a truly
iconic commercial during halftime of Super Bowl XVIII: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtvjbmoDx-I
e. 2002 Kmart became the
largest U.S. Retailer to file for bankruptcy protection.
Reflections on the 747:
“The Boeing 747 is the
commuter train of the global village.” Hendrik Tennekes, former Professor of Aeronautical Engineering at Penn
State University.
