CV
World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues the new year with
surging cases now over 95 million at 95,623,389 with 389,181 new cases (a .41%
increase and .48% yesterday) 25,256,955 of which are active, 70,366,434
closed with 68,323,790 recoveries (97.10% and 97.09% yesterday) and 2,042,644,
deaths (2.90% and 2.91% yesterday) to continue the trend of increased cases
with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages
with some plateaus.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 24
million at 24,454,500 with 38,991 new cases (a .16% increase and .61%
yesterday) with 9,654,618 active cases of which 28, 744 (.30% of active cases
and a decrease now of 527 from a peak of 29,271 on December 31) are in serious
or critical condition 14,838,873 closures, 407,346 of which
have been deaths (2.75% and 2.75% yesterday) and 14,431,527 of which have
been recoveries (97.25% and 97.25% yesterday). Our death rate percentage
continues to improve and after many months is now .15% lower than the world
rate and .08% lower than Canada which has the socialized type medicine Biden
may well want to implement here and on a deaths per million population
measurement on a steady climb to 1227 ranks behind Belgium (1759), Italy (1366), and UK
(1320) which had passed us despite leading world in testing), and only slightly
worse than Bulgaria (1226), Hungary (1184), Peru (1170) Spain (1140), Mexico
(1085), France (1075), Sweden (1019) that never closed its economy down
like we did but has recently been experiencing a rapid rise in deaths, (1000),
Switzerland (1004), Argentina (1000), Brazil (984), Chile (914) that we
recently passed, Bolivia (819) and Ecuador (805) and we have now conducted 285,751,376 tests (now at 860,525/M compared
to Russia at 664,525/M so Trump was telling truth that we conduct more tests in
number and on a per capital basis for nations (other than those nations that
contain small populations like Bahrain, Denmark, Israel, Malta,
Singapore and UAE) but for the U.K. which remains off the testing charts with
tests at 949,994/M.
Non
CV Case News: Pelosi’s rush to impeach because Trump was a clear and present
danger has been revealed as a farce as she is sitting on the Articles of
Impeachment and not sending them to the Senate which reveals the real reason
for impeachment—prevent Trump from ever seeking office again—what an outrage by
a kangaroo court like impeachment process—no evidence and no witnesses to link
Trump to the storming of the Capitol by inciting protesters to commit that act;
in another example of our criminal justice system gone amok, the suspect of the
killing of a Temple University graduate while walking his dog, Davis L.
Josephus, over prosecutors objections had his bail reduced from $200,000 to $12,000
and released to commit further mayhem; words have consequences and Biden’s ill
advised open border ideas coupled with path to citizenship, has ignited the caravan
of thousands of illegals crossing the Guatemala border, clashing with police
and heading north (if more Latinos voted Red, the Blues would be on the front line
demanding a secure border); Trump is expected to commute or pardon some 50-100 criminals,
including Lil Wayne; shades of brainwashing perfected by the Communists during
the Korean War and passed on to the North Vietnamese and the Chinese and now
being aped by Big Tech and the MSM to deprogram and deplatform Trump supporters
to complement the firing or not hiring of conservatives in entertainment,
academia, and business; Twitter behind its algorithms thinks of itself as an
adjunct of the DNC has just unblocked another conservative Congresswoman Rep.
Greene of Georgia initially blocked for criticizing Georgia election officials
(Trump’s ban should be a wakeup call that the stifling of conservative thought
to promote the DNC is the real clear and present danger); the fawning and
gushing by MSM by people like Jane Pauley who clearly has lost sight of what it
means to be a journalist in her Sunday interview with Harris and her husband is
ramping up on all cylinders; the leftist celebs that populate Hollywood and who
delusionally think since they can memorize scripts portraying intelligent,
heroic or persons with great integrity and believe Main Street care about their
thoughts have started a petition to have Cruz removed from the Senate as a
traitor; the recall Gavin Newsome continues to gather signatures over a million
moving forward to the required goal of 1,500,000 https://recallgavin2020.com/petition/
Chicago/Baltimore Gun Violence: In the new-year gun violence is unchecked
primarily with shooters of color shooting and killing victims of color but it
looks like my data site Hey Jackass.com has now been blocked from giving out
daily data.

1. Martin Luther
King, Jr. Day—designated
by President Reagan as a federal holiday to commemorate the birthday of Martin
Luther King, Jr, and to honor his contributions and accomplishments in the
Civil Rights Movement achieved not through rioting, burning and looting but
through peaceful nonviolence.
2.
National
Gourmet Coffee Day—celebrating
that morning brew that most of us cannot start our day without and many need an
afternoon booster to complete the day. Thanks to Starbucks, Peets, and Kean and
other coffee shops that specialize in better beans, we have been freed of the
relatively cheap supermarket coffee which too often is highly acidic and
lacking taste.
3. 1986 Number One Song—the number 1 song in 1986 on this day with a run of 4 weeks in that position was “That’s What Friends Are For” by Dionne and Friends, joining 29 other number one songs. Here is a recording of Dionne and Friends singing “That’s What Friends Are For”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyTpu6BmE88. With friends like Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight almost impossible to not have a number 1 record, At 80 this talented singer is still active.
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “ptarmic”
which means a substance that causes sneezing like ground pepper, wasabi, or
foods the eater is allergic to.
5. Too Much
Temptation for a Singing Temptation—celebrating
the birthday on this day in 1941 of David Ruffin, one of the lead singers for
the Temptations but struggled with drug addiction and died from an overdose of
cocaine on June 1, 1991 in a Philadelphia crack cocaine house.
On this day in:
a. 1895 an X-ray machine
was demonstrated by Davidson Professor of Physics Henry Louis Smith.
b.

sentenced to life in prison and then escaped, turned himself back in and was
moved to a maximum security prison where he was murdered by a fellow inmate.
c. 1981 Phil Smith and Phil
Mayfield parachuted off a Houston skyscraper to become the first two
parachutists to complete a BASE jump from buildings, antennae, spans (bridge)
and earth (cliff).

Marion Berry was arrested for cocaine possession in a FBI sting operation, was

world’s largest commercial airliner was unveiled.
Reflections on the coffee: “I believe humans get a lot done, not because we’re smart, but
because we have thumbs so we can make coffee.”Flash Rosenberg, noted Guggenheim
Fellow in the Creative Arts and obviously a coffee connoisseur.
