Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For June 23, 2020 The CV pandemic across the planet continues with 224,246 new cases (a 2.43 % increase compared to a 1.13% increase yesterday) to bring the total to 9,453,671 cases, 3,859,050 of which are active, 5,594,621 of which have been closed with 5,112,215 recoveries (91.38% compared to yesterday’s 91.28) and 482,406 deaths (8.62% compared to yesterday’s 8.76%); in the U.S. which has the dubious distinction of leading the world in total cases and being hit with the of reopening its economy, massive protests over the death of George Floyd and Rayshard Brooks and a massive Trump rally in Tulsa creating concern of a spike in new cases with new cases of 60,911 have brought total cases to 2,390,268 (a 2.55% increase compared to yesterday’s .65% increase) with 1,297,191 active cases of which 16,483 (16,510 yesterday) are in serious or critical condition and 1,153,988 closures, 124,100 of which have been deaths (10.75% compared to yesterday’s 10.9%) and 1,029,888 of which have been recoveries (89.25% compared to yesterday’s 89.10%) (our death rate percentages continue to improve since Cuomo repealed his order sending CV positive patients on May 10 but remain higher than the world probably due to idiots like Cuomo sending positive CV patients into nursing homes to infect the residents and staff who then die and accounted for some 40% of our deaths and hopefully the number of cases will not spike given the days of massive protests and riots over George Floyd’s and Rayshard Brooks’ deaths) with 30,059,864 tests; Hawk Newsome, the head of the NY BLM has indicated plans to have armed “BLM peace officers” to protect blacks from illegal shootings by police (black safety would be far better served to fight against black on black shootings in urban cities, especially those controlled by Blues; the Blue impeachment gang of TDS victim’s anger that Flynn’s case which never should have been brought in the first place was dismissed by AG Barr exploded in a raucous hearing in which the Blues ignored the fact that the Appellate Court excoriated Judge Sullivan for his obstruction and ordered the case dismissed (Jordan pointed out that Adler fuming over the fact that Flynn despite being financially ruined defending himself has escaped the FBI’s corrupt inspired attempted lynching has failed to call the FBI IG who lambasted the FBI for its conduct in the case; on the CHOP front it looks like the occupiers will be leaving Wednesday night and the Seattle City Council moves to slash $20 million for the SPD budget (Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan whose ineptness on these events rivals that of Mayor De Blasio must be on her knees thankful her “Summer of Love” idiocies do not have to be repeated); the CHOP residents who will be leaving will probably be joined by some businesses fed up with Seattle’s leftist leanings, one of whom is long time retail clothing store Buki Clothing; Bubba Wallace had a dose of common sense, realizing that being Bubba Smollett was not a good idea, tweeting his gratitude that the “noose” was not for him and embarrassed over the incident; in a “no vacancy left behind moment,” the Senate confirmed Trump’s 200th judicial pick and in the process filled all existing Circuit Court vacancies (explains why the Blues are so desperate to retake the Senate and the Oval Office; the Glynn County grand jury has indicted the father and son McMichaels and William Bryan, Jr. on charges including felony murder of Ahmaud Abrey; Senator Scott, the only black Red Senator blasted Schumer’s Blues for failing to allow his police reform bill to move forward, accusing them of putting maintaining their perceived monopoly of black voters ahead of public safety and slammed Pelosi’s despicable but typical over the top rhetoric of blaming the death of George Floyd on Reds; the Blues in New York in New York continue their shift to the left as several AOC backed progressives looking like they are winning their primaries; in Chicago as of June 23, 2020, there were 1609 shootings of whom 283 have died (so much for the defund the police movement and for the effectiveness of Chicago’s stay at home order); Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population and hoping against all hopes that 2020 will not be a record in terms of deaths but now seems to be shooting less and killing less and is now 127 behind Chicago with 156 murders (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?).

4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “parachronism” which means the representation of something being newer than it really is which probably describes the progressives’ brand of socialism which is merely relabeling of a doctrine that has failed in the past and will fail today.
5. Illegal Alien Crime Is Not Something New--celebrating the birth on this day in 1966, of noted actress, screenwriter and director Adrienne Levine better known to her fans as Adrienne Shelly who was found hanging dead in her apartment bathroom by her husband on November 1, 2006. The police initially thought it was a suicide which her husband was able to convince them otherwise and after further investigation located a footprint which led to the arrest of an illegal alien from Ecuador, Diego Pillco who was working on a construction project in the building and confessed and was sentenced on March 13, 2008 to 25 years with no parole. Her life was not in vain as the Women’s Critic Circle Association as part of its annual awards presents the Adrienne Shelly Award to the film that “most passionately opposes violence against women.”

a. 1973 an arsonist attacked the UpStairs Lounge, a gay bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans during a church service causing the death 38 people from fire and smoke inhalation. The suspect, Roger Nunez, a gay man who had been ejected from the bar earlier that day, killed himself in November before he could be arrested and charged.
b. 1982 in a tribute to Boeing engineering and the flight skills of the pilots, British Airways Flight 9, en route to Jakarta ran into a volcanic ash cloud some 125 miles outside of Jakarta lost all power in all 4 engines of the 747 but managed to restart all 4, then losing 1 shortly thereafter to land in Jakarta with no injuries.
c. 1995 in the World Rugby Cup in a game memorialized by the film Invictus, South Africa defeated New Zealand with Nelson Mandela of South Africa present the Webb Ellis Cup to the South Africa team.
d. 2010 at Wimbledon, John Isner defeated Nicolas Mahut in five sets played over three days due to darkness with a total time on the courts of 11 hours 5 minutes to become the longest tennis game in professional tennis history.
e. 2013 in proof that the reptilian brain knows no national boundaries, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was found guilty of abuse of power and having sex with an underage prostitute and sentenced to 7 years.
