Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For August 5, 2019 After 2nd
mass shooting, Trump condemned racism and hate in no uncertain terms and called
for expanded mental health screening and background checks while with the exception
of de Castro who rightfully pinned the blame on the shooters, the Blue
wanna-bes blamed Trump (another example of pervasive Trump Derangement
Syndrome); the death toll in El Paso has risen to 22 as two wounded have died
in hospitals and while Congress is in gridlock with some in corporate America ending
discounts to NRA members or altering their gun sale policies to end sales of
assault rifles or sales to those under 21; Neil deGrasse Tyson has been ravaged
in Twitterland for his comment on the fact that deaths from many other causes
dwarf the number of deaths from mass shootings; in another example that Biden may
have mentally lost it, at a fund raiser in California he expressed sympathy for
the victims of the mass shootings in “Michigan” and “Houston” while in an
example of Trump Derangement Syndrome Trump was castigated for using “Toledo”
as the site of the Ohio shooting as opposed to Dayton; on the PC front, the
Naval Academy Football Team was forced to drop its motto for the upcoming football
season “Load the Clip” as being offensive to those concerned about gun violence;
Kevin Cernakee, a conservative engineer fired by Google, is claiming that
Google is doing all it can to insure that Trump does not win reelection (this
allegation should come as no surprise and should spur legislation to ban the
use of algorithms to ban or shadow ban conservative posts); in a news item that
should have Epstein quaking in his boots, a Florida inmate entered the cell of
a pedophile serving a life sentence and drowned him; rising avocado prices has
forced many recipes to turn to using Mexican Calabicita squash to make
guacamole which has a similar texture; biased pseudo journalist Joe Scarborough
is playing with fire calling for a boycott of Trump supporters; in Chicago
through August 4, 2019, 1642 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly
people of color, 278 of whom have died, a fraction of those dead from murders in Cape
Town, South Africa but barely leading the 199 murdered in Baltimore (when will
Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a
Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of
color by people of color?)

Reflections
on President Reagan crushing the Air Traffic Controllers’ strike: “Perhaps the most important, and then highly
controversial, domestic initiative was the firing of the air traffic
controllers in August 1981. The President invoked the law that striking
government employees forfeit their jobs, an action that unsettled those who
cynically believed no President would ever uphold that law. President Reagan
prevailed, as you know, but far more importantly his action gave weight to the
legal right of private employers, previously not fully exercised, to use their
own discretion to both hire and discharge workers.” Alan Greenspan
