Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For August 17, 2019 The shooter in Philadelphia who was Harris’s poster child for her gun control plan while bullets were still flying with his illegally obtained rifle has been charged with attempted murders (with his crimes he should never have been on the street breathing the air of freedom); in a what took him so long moment President Trump has threatened to designate Antifa as a terrorist organization, an action long overdue; Portland is girding for demonstrations by Antifa and right wing organizations and is trying to keep the groups separated by the Willamette River but videos have surfaced of Antifa members trying to pull journalist Ngo who was previously brutally attacked off a bus today (interesting sidelight, only Antifa members wear masks to try to conceal their identity but with conservatives no attempt); Blues evidently still seething over Israel’s right as a sovereign nation to exclude two rabid anti-Semites Tlaib and Omar are now considering the idiotic path of trying to punish Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S. and the U.S. Ambassador to Israel (short memories, but consistent with their open border views, of Blues when U.S. banned Arafat from U.N. for his advocating the destruction of Israel); Google is already in the political dog house for its employees signing a petition demanding Google does not do business with ICE (but okay with repressive China which is in a trade war with U.S. and on a path to replace us as a dominant power) has entered a new one as another petition is circulating demanding no Google business with CBP; in what should be a wake-up call to the continuing drift to the left of the Blues, ulta leftist comedian Bill Maher has attacked Blue for their BDS litmus test on candidates; Jessica Aguilar who slapped a Trump supporter at an Orange County rally in 2016 has been convicted of battery and sentenced to 20 days of jail, 10 days of community service and 3 years probation with jail vacated if community service completed (a good step to end this physical anti-Trump nonsense); news that Harris who has filed a bill to legalize marijuana at the federal level may take notice of a Florida lawyer who was ordered to pay $370,000 for improper legal advice prompting his clients to grow and use marijuana for personal medical uses); it what sounds like a case of false imprisonment Delta passengers were held on a plane bound for Dublin for 8 hours while the pilot claimed not to know where the ground crew was and police finally being called after fights starting breaking out; in Chicago no shooting and murder updates but 215 murdered in Baltimore (even without updates when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color?)
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Los Del Rios, factoids of interest for this day in history, the fact that you do not suffer from planomania and a relevant quote from Monica Lewinsky on the Lewinsky Scandal (thanks God this predator never became the First Man), secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like Father’s Day, college graduations, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. National Nonprofit Day—created by Sherita J. Herring, noted speaker and motivator, in 2017 to honor the good deeds of non profits whose real profits are the thousands of those helped by their services.
2. International Homeless Animal Day—created by the International Society for Animal Rights in 1992 to reduce the number of homeless animals by spaying and neutering pets and promoting pet adoptions.
3. 1996 Number One Song— the number one song in 1996 on a run of 14 weeks in that position was “Macarena (Backside Boys Mix)” by Los Del Rio. Here is a recording video of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-2R6B3oFE4 This Spanish duo was formed in 1962 by Antonio Romero Monge (born 1947) and Rafael Ruíz Perdigones (born 1949) and is still going strong today.
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “planomania” which describes an abnormal desire to wander aimlessly and ignore social norms which might describe Crocodile Dundee.
5. Still A Raging Bull In His Mind—celebrating or bemoaning the birth depending on your political point of view of actor Robert DeNiro born on this day in 1943 but locked in his roll of Jake LaMotta when re rants about punching Trump in the nose.

Reflections on being the Clinton Lewinsky Scandal: “He could have made it right with the book. But he hasn't. He is a revisionist of history. He has lied.” Monica Lewinsky Too bad Epstein died or we might have had to endure Clinton’s real depravity.
