September 9, 2018 Ridley's Believe It Or Not California Admission Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For September 9, 2018 Serena Williams trying to tie Margaret Court for the most Grand Slam victories at the U.S. Open instead had a meltdown, broke her racket and was fined $17,000 in her loss to Naomi Osaka, the first Japanese-American to win a U.S. Open (she leveled sexism charges against the umpire); Republican Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska is seriously considering leaving the Republican Party as he bemoans the gridlock in the Senate and blasts the reality TV show atmosphere of the White House; Obama was in Anaheim blasting Trump and trying to take credit for the economic recovery (quite a departure from precedence as ex presidents in the past rarely take the partisanship low road to attack their successor but Obama is in a snit fit that his legacy has been almost completely dismantled); Burgerville, a small hamburger chain in the Pacific Northwest, has changed its policy and now prohibits employees from wearing buttons that express political sentiments like “Abolish ICE” and “No one is illegal”; on the sexual harassment front, 6 more women have come forward alleging CBS President Les Moonves made unwanted sexual advances to them (watch for this culprit of the reptilian brain culture to be departing in the near future); on the hurricane front, Tropical Storm Florence heading to the southeastern coast of the U.S. is expected to intensify to a Cat 3 or higher hurricane with likely flooding due to heavy rain fall and storm surges; in Chicago, Emanuel’s announcement that he will not seek reelection has not curbed the gun violence as through September 8, 2018, 2125 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 344 have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of mostly people of color by mostly people of color).
