Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For August 8, 2017 We invaded Iraq over nuclear weapons that did not exist
and now we face the certain reality that N. Korea has nukes and may or very
soon will have the capability of putting those nukes on missiles capable of
hitting the homeland while being ruled by an erratic psychopath; while
sanctions just imposed by the UN sound great on paper, they will not result in
N. Korea abandoning its nuclear program or a regime change leaving the question
of how much longer are we going to sit idly by and allow China to sit idly by
and gamble that one of our cities will not be annihilated by this madman (sadly
given the sophistication of N. Korea’s air defense system we probably do not
have the ability to drop MOABs on its nuclear facilities and if we are going to
preemptively destroy its ICBMs and nuclear facilities we would have to use the
nuke option for which we would be castigated by the world—a real mess!); the New York Times, the biased rag that no
one outside the Beltway reads is back in the bias spotlight again publishing a
draft report on climate change which it claims was leaked to prevent
suppression by the Trump Administration but failed to note that the report has
been online since January of this year—nice example of fake news; while the MIA
Senators are enjoying the August recess, insurers continue to bail from the
Obamacare individual market (any incumbent Red or Blue up for reelection should
be voted out of office and Schumer and McConnell should be removed from
leadership); Google has fired the software engineer James Damore who wrote an
anti-diverstiy memo that immediately went viral (Damore threatening legal
action but doubtful it he has a case); thank God for the Coast Guard that
recently turned over 3 tons of cocaine to the DEA putting an almost $100
million dent in the cartel’s profits; through August 7,
2017, 2262 people have been shot in Chicago 388 of whom have died (good day for
victims and bad aim for shooters as no one died yesterday).

which finally after years of feckless failed leadership under Obama, President Trump

Spring—celebrating the birth on this day of Concetta Ignolia, better
known to her fans as Connie Stevens and still growing strong at 79 with a
career that has included acting, singing, many tours with Bob Hope on USO
performances before the troops and most recently founding a cosmetic skin care
company, Forever Spring with over $500 million in annual sales.

mailed his offer to resign to CSA President Jefferson Davis which offer was promptly
rejected.
b. 1969 at a zebra
crossing in London, Ian Macmillan took the iconic photograph that would be the
cover for the Beatles Abbey Road album.
c. 1969 four Manson Family members entered the
home of Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski to murder
8 ½ month pregnant Sharon Tate and four others after breaking into their
residence.
d. 1974 President Richard M. Nixon appeared on
national TV to announce his resignation as President of the United States to
avoid a certain impeachment and removal from office.
e. 2000 the CSA submarine
H.L. Hunley after 136 years on the
ocean bottom was resurfaced.
Reflections
on the impact on the Manson Family murders: “The
Manson murders sounded the death knell for hippies and all they symbolically
represented. They closed an era. The
60s, the decade of love, ended on that night, on 9 August 1969."
Vincent Bugliosi, Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney who prosecuted Charles
Manson and his accomplices. Fortunately, that scumbag Manson has been turned
