Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For August 15, 2017 A memorial service will be held today for the woman killed
in Charlottesville but the furor over Trump’s condemnation of the role of the
alt-left and the alt-right fueled by the MSM and Politico’s altering of his
impromptu press conference (later retracted after the damage done) to using the
word “us” implying Trump was with the alt-right); with the tensions and
rhetoric from Kim, Asia does not need another confrontation between two nuclear
powers but that is what we are faced with on the Chinese Indian border with
both sides reinforcing troops there and demanding the other side withdraw from
their “territory”; Trump and Sessions are making good on their promise to
eradicate MS-13 with news of arrests of more than a dozen gang members in Ohio
and reports that ICE will use U and S visas to encourage illegal aliens to
report MS-13 criminal activity (MS-13 violence and the opioid crisis are just
two more reasons why we need a wall and a secure border); it looks like the
real obstruction of justice perpetrator Loretta Lynch is back in the spotlight
as the FBI in response to FOIA requests on the tarmac meeting between Lynch and
Bill Clinton is reopening the case (dime against a dollar Bill Clinton promised
Lynch a SCOTUS nomination or continuation as AG if no indictment recommendation
with not a word on golf or grandchildren); satellite photos may have located
the crash site of MH370 that disappeared in 2014; in yet another example of
rhetoric way over the top and putting gasoline on the fires that divide this
country, Michael Moore, that pathetic fat wimp disguising himself as a
director, is claiming that anyone who still supports Trump is an accomplice to
rape and not to be outdone another obese leftist Rosie O’Donnell claimed that
anyone who works for Trump is a Nazi (when will the vitriolic rhetoric from the
left be ramped down?); from the Hippie Movement in the 60’s and wearing a flower
in your hair, the Golden State has morphed into the Hate State leading the
nation with 80 hate groups within its borders (after seeing riots at Berkeley
to shut down conservative speakers not a surprise); through
August 15, 2017 in Chicago the number of people being shot climbed to 2347, 408
of whom have died.

the birth on this day in 1902 of Wallace Thurman noted Haarlem African American
writer and playwright whose promising career as an acclaimed writer was cut
short by alcoholism with his pen taken from him at the too early age of 32.
On this day in:
a. 1896 Skookum Jim
Mason, George Carmack and Dawson Charlie discovered gold in a tributary of the Klondike
River in Canada, prompting the Klondike Gold Rush.
b. 1916 the Migratory
Bird Act designed to protect migratory birds and their nests from over hunting
and trafficking was entered into between Canada and the United States.
c. 1927 the first and
only Dole Race from Oakland to Honolulu took place with 6 of the 8 planes
entered crashing on takeoff or lost over the Pacific Ocean never to be seen
again. Only 2 planes successfully landed in Honolulu.
d. 1920 Ray Chapman of
the Cleveland Indians was hit in the head by a fastball thrown by Yankees pitcher
Carl May and died 12 hours later leading MLB to require umpires to replace any
ball that became dirty (harder to see to get out of the way) but surprisingly it
would take another 30 years before batting helmets would be required.
e. 1954 the first issue
of Sports Illustrated was published.
