October 7 History National Frappe Day

Ridley's Believe It Or Not—October 7, 2014:  Trust your Taco Tuesday is proving to be a great day and that you enjoy the slim pickings of holidays and factoids and quote from Vladimir Putin with a smile especially today on your sunscreened face, with a delicious frappe near, blessed with a positive attitude, and secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for a memorable event, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem tailored to the event and the recipient. Tough loss for the Cardinal in South Bend.
      1. Bear Day—celebrating not the ursines of the world but bemoaning the birthday on this day in 1952 of Vladimir Putin, the current thug par excellence of the Russian Federation.
      2. Nagasaki Kunchi—celebrated in Nagasaki, Japan as an autumn festival with festivities and dragon dances; fortunately by now all the radiation from the second atomic bomb being dropped on Japan has dissipated so if attending one would not glow in the dark.
      3. National Frappe Day—celebrating that great iced coffee drink that originated in Greece in 1957.
On this day in
      a. 1955 poet Allan Ginsberg recited his poem Howl for the first time on stage in San Francisco.
      b. 1985 the Achille Lauro was hijacked by the PLO.
      c. 1996 to the bane of all liberal politicians Fox Broadcasting Company began broadcasting the news.
      d. 2001 the United States commenced military operations in Afghanistan against the Taliban.
From the mouth of the bear as another reason not to vote for her in 2016: "It's better not to argue with women, But Ms. Clinton has never been too graceful in her statements. Still, we always met afterwards and had cordial conversations at various international events. I think even in this case we could reach an agreement. When people push boundaries too far, it's not because they are strong but because they are weak. But maybe weakness is not the worst quality for a woman."   Vladimir Putin Interesting observation from the man who seized Crimea and is fomenting great chaos in Ukraine.
