Trust your day is proving to be a great one and that you enjoy the holidays of
dubious distinction, along with the factoids and quote from Art Laffer with a
smile on your face, a positive attitude and a bowl of julienne fries at your
fingertips.

Glorious 12th—celebrating in the U.K. since 1831 the opening of grouse hunting
season, loved by hunters and feared by grouse.
2. International Youth Day—another U.N.
holiday enacted in 2000 celebrating the
youth among us.
3. Vinyl Record Day---celebrating Thomas
Edison’s invention of the phonograph on this day in 1877.
4. IBM PC Day--celebrating
the introduction on this day in 1981 by IBM of its first personal computer the
5150 at a price of $1565 (well over $4100 in today’s dollars).
5. Julienne
Fries Day—celebrating those delicious and tasty shoe string French fries.
On this day in
a. 1851 Isaac Singer was granted a patent for his sewing machine.
b. 1964 South Africa due to its apartheid policies was banned from participation
in the Olympics.
c. 1992 the U.S., Canada, and Mexico announced completion of negotiations on
the North American Free Trade Agreement.
