January 3, 2020 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National Drinking Straw Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For January 3, 2020 The killing of Iranian General and chief architect of killing U.S. soldiers has prompted the proverbial hornet’s nest of criticism from the elite like Rose McGown who apologized to Iran on behalf of America and the Blue politicians almost to a man or woman slamming Trump for him not getting Congressional input and approval (which is not required or mandated) and raising fears that this “reckless” provocation will move us to war with Iran (which Trump explained was what the strikes were intended to do—remove the threat of war with Iran); AOC fresh from her Green New Deal Crusade has added military leader to her accolades slamming Trump for endangering lives by killing Soleimani (ironic a lot of cheering seems to be going on over his death in the Middle East); Nanny Bloomberg showed some spine when he slammed Sanders for complaining that the Soleimani killing was an “assassination”; Cruz is introducing a resolution in the Senate praising the military for killing Soleimani, daring the Blues to oppose it; the ratings sinking due to bias may have been a CNN wakeup call as one of its military pundits blasted Blues to “stay quiet” over their slamming of Trump for killing Soleimani; in Chicago, as of January 1, 2020, the new year ended with 6 people; Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population, has started 2020 with 2 deaths and came in first place in 2019 in the amount of gun deaths as 348 have been murdered, a number which has the dubious distinction of passing all of 2014’s deaths, 2016’s  318 deaths and 2017’s and 2015’s  previous record of 342 (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?).

On this day in:

      b. 1977 Apple Computer was incorporated, closing today at $297.43 after closing above $300 earlier in the week.

 e. 2020 Iranian General Qasem Soleimani and 5 fellow top officers are killed in an American drone strike at Baghdad Airport.
Reflections on the killing of Qasem Soleimani from two sides of the aisle: “The US’ act of international terrorism, targeting & assassinating General Soleimani—THE most effective force fighting Daesh (ISIS), Al Nusrah, Al Qaeda et al—is extremely dangerous & a foolish escalation. The US bears responsibility for all consequences of its rogue adventurism,” tweeted Javad Zarif, foreign minister of Islamic Republic of Iran.”
“Just as Israel has the right of self-defence, the United States has exactly the same right,” Israeli President Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office Friday. “Qassem Soleimani is responsible for the death of American citizens and many other innocent people. He was planning more such attacks.”
