Ridley’s Believe It Or
Not For June 13, 2019 Trump announced that after praising her profusely, Sarah
Sanders, the much MSM maligned White House Press Secretary will be leaving the
White House on the end of the month; Iran may have advanced past the rattling
sabers stage to sewing mines as two oil tankers were hit by what is believed to
be Iranian mines in the Gulf of Oman, damaging but not sinking them (what is
striking about these attacks is that they come while President Abe of Japan is
in Tehran seeking to cool tensions that have arisen between the U.S. and Iran
as the world holds its breath to see what if any military response the U.S.
will make if Iran was the culprit while here in the U.S. we should thank our
lucky stars of our energy independence the Blues want to abolish); Trump has
made potentially a major gaff by indicating he would listen to hearing dirt of
opponents from foreign governments without necessarily informing the FBI (even
Fox has indicated he needs to explain that remark or he will expose himself to
major political attacks); Adler the Snake Nadler is holding AG Barr and
Secretary of Commerce in contempt on refusing to provided documentation on the
citizenship question on the census prompting a blast from Trump that the
Democrats have gone loco; after holding a press conference with the President
of Poland, Trump announced plans to send 1,000 troops to Poland and sell F-35
fighters to the nation’s air forces; Adam Schiff who is about as honest as the
day is long on December 21 announced subpoenas for Flynn and Gates to grill
them on what they testified to Mueller and probably very fearful over what
classified documents will reveal with respect to the corruption of the FBI and
DOJ blasted Trump for moving to declassify (for Blues like Schiff transparency
is a one way street that should be invoked only if it favors Blues and
discredits Reds); Klein a former top aide to Clinton and Obama has written an
op-ed in the leftist advocacy only Washington
Post attacking it as a radical right roadblock to the progressive agenda;
as measles cases rise in California, actress Jessica Biel went off script and
testified before our one party California State Senate against a bill that
would tighten exemptions against vaccinations (when will celebrities come to
the conclusion that a movie script or the ability to memorize it does not make
you a policy expert to be listened to?); through June 11, 2019 1080 people have been
shot in Chicago of whom 203 have died (what makes the Smollett case so
frustrating is that it forced the city of Chicago to allocate scarce detective
resources when in only 9% of the shootings resulting in murder have a suspect
being charged this year).
1. Random

2. National

position was “I’ll Get By As Long As I Have Yo” by Harry James and His
Orchestra with vocals by Dick Haymes. Here is a recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArtsWq3Zl1s
James was married three times once to
Betty Grable who was also a smoker and died of lung cancer at at age 56 on July
2, 1973 but was a heavy smoker and died of lympathic cancer at age 67 on July
5, 1983. Dick Haymes also a smoker died from cancer at the age of 61 on March 28, 1980.
4. Word
of the Day—today’s word of the day as we move from words beginning with “o”
to words beginning with “p” is “peracute” which describes a disease that
is very acute, short and often fatal.
5. Round
Peg In a Square Hole—celebrating the birth on this day in 1926 of actor, comedian,
voice actor and game show panelist who had to keep his homosexuality in the
closet and struggled with alcohol until the early 80’s; he was best known for
being the center square on The Hollywood
Squares and died in his sleep on January 11, 1982 from a heart attack.

On
this day
in:
a. 1966 in the case of Miranda
v. Arizona SCOTUS ruled that police
must inform suspects of their rights before questioning them of a crime they
are suspected of committing.
b. 1971 the New York Times began the publication of
the Pentagon Papers which revealed
the Pentagon’s lies and deceptions to the American people to deceive and
mislead the American people over the rationale and justification for the war
and touting the “progress” being made by U.S. forces.
c. 1981 a teenager,
Marcus Sarjeant, at a Trooping of the Colors Ceremony, fired six blanks at Queen
Elizabeth II; he was tried under the Treason Act of 1942, convicted and
sentenced to five years, three of which were served before he was released and
changed his name to start a new life.
d. 1994 a jury in
Anchorage, Alaska found Exxon and Captain Joseph Hazelton reckless in the
grounding of the Exxon Valdez in
Prince William Sound outside of Valdez, Alaska, paving the way for plaintiffs
to seek $15 billion in damages.
e. 2002 the United
States withdrew from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.
Reflections on the U.S.
government’s failed attempt to stop publication of the Pentagon Papers: “For when everything is classified, then nothing
is classified, and the system becomes one to be disregarded by the cynical or
the careless, and to be manipulated by those intent on self-protection or
self-promotion." Concurring opinion
of Justice Potter Stewart New York Times v. United States
