Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For October 16, 2017 Bowe Bergdahl after blaming Trump for his remarks during the campaign that he could not get a fair trial for desertion which may have cost the lives of six soldiers tasked with trying to find him is expected to plead guilty and be sentenced to serve time at Leavenworth; Hillary may be a total hypocrite but when it comes to money she never gives it back and announced that the tainted money received from the pervert Weinstein whose troubles both civil and criminal get bigger each day will not be returned by the Clinton Foundation; she also had the audacity to castigate Trump as a sexual predator while dismissing her husband’s proclivities as old news as news today that Harvey donated the maximum to Clinton’s Monica Lewinsky Defense Fund (it’s okay in her moral world to abuse women as long as it is done by the liberal elite in Hollywood); almost a stuck record or a gruesome remake of Groundhog Day, Chicago style, the carnage in Chicago continued unabated with total shootings in 2017 through October 15 increasing to 3022 (as predicted that number this weekend to soared past 3,000) and the death toll rising to 526 while nothing is being done to hinder or prevent the killings of minorities by minorities.

World Food Day—honoring the work of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations created on this day in 1946 to promote the increase in food production while preserving the environment and promoting the improvement in the distribution of food resources to a growing population around the globe.
2. World Anesthesia Day—commemorating the first use of anesthesia in surgery performed on this day in 1846 at Boston at the Massachusetts General Hospital, the home of the Harvard School of Medicine.

4. Word of the Day—today’s word of for this Friday the 13th is “kitthoge” which means a left-handed or awkward person which defined this poet’s mother to a tee in terms of being left-handed but she was most definitely not awkward when in came to administer shots to patients.
5. Nowhere Near the Winter of One’s Life—celebrating the birth on this day in 1946 of Suzanne Somers, noted Three’s Company actress Playboy model, author and poet still going strong promoting a healthy food consumption lifestyle so appropriate on this World Food Day.
On this day in:
a. 1946 10 of the 12 Nazi war criminals convicted at Nuremburg and sentenced to death by hanging were executerd (Borman convicted in absentia had already died unbeknownst to the Allies while trying to escape Berlin and Goring managed to obtain cyanide the day before his execution and committed suicide). Unfortunately for the condemned, the ropes were too short and the deceased necks were not broken and death came from a slow strangulation.
b. 1964 China joined the nuclear armed club with the test of its first nuclear test.
c. 1968 in a reaffirmation that there is no room in sports for politics at the Mexico City Summer Olympics, sprinters Tommie Smith and John Carlos were kicked off the U.S. Olympic Team for displaying the Black Power salute during the medal awards ceremony after their event.
d. 1991 at Luby’s Cafeteria on National Boss Day in Kileen. Texas, George Hennard, an unemployed seamen, drove his pickup truck into the restaurant and shot and killed 23 diners and wounding 20 others before turning his pistol on himself and pulling the trigger to commit suicide.
e. 1995 the Million Man March to protest racism and to present a more favorable image of black men took place in Washington, D.C. (the National Park Service estimated that 400,000 were in attendance).
