June 9, 2017 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Coral Triangle Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For June 9, 2017 Finally after denying Reza Aslan was even an employee of CNN, CNN took a small step to regaining its long lost  journalistic integrity causing him to join the ranks of Kathy Griffin by firing him for his profane anti-Trump rants; we now know after Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intel Committee that Comey is a total wimp and a leaker, Trump was never under investigation and the Russian collusion is a Blue delusion that was instigated by the MSM and the left to distract and obstruct the Trump agenda of creating jobs, cutting taxes and regulations, replacing Obamacare and increasing border security (time to hit the gong on the Blue Neros Band! http://alaskanpoet.blogspot.com/2017/06/hit-gong-on-blue-neros-band.html); learning more about “Unreality Loser’s” anti American beliefs, loyalty to the Taliban and desires to burn down the White House (true to form the poster child for obesity Rosie O’Donnell called her a true patriot and contributed $1000 to her defense); May’s snap election ended in disaster for May as the voters stung by two terror attacks by Islamists did not give her party a majority in Parliament; the drought in California is definitely over as the snow pack in the Sierras is such that ski resorts may be open into August, leaving little time for maintenance and repair before the snow starts falling again in September and October; notwithstanding a complete lack of any basis, the two new idiotic Don Quixotes in the House Green and Sherman (he represents the San Fernando Valley) are plowing forward with Articles of Impeachment; Rahm Emanuel’s top priority for Chicago remains making it the premier sanctuary city in the country as the carnage continues unabated in June with total shootings in 2017 through June 6 increasing to 1471 and the death toll increasing to 257, a major tragedy that the powers to be in Chicago seem to completely ignore except for those fortunate enough to own a mortuary.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Sheb Wooley, factoids of interest for this day in history, working on getting rid of immeritous bureaucrats and politicians, a relevant quote on World Oceans Day from Michael J. Foxsecure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like Fathers’ Day which is right around the corner, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. Coral Triangle Dayobserved since  2009 to promote awareness of the importance of the coral triangle to coral and marine life and the need to protect it:

2. World Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome Day—creating awareness of APS an autoimmune disease that causes recurrent clotting in the arteries and veins increasing the risk of strokes, heart attacks and miscarriages.
3. 1958 Number One Song—the number one song in 1958 on a run of 6 weeks in that position was “Purple People Eater” by Sheb Wooley. Here is a performance by him of the song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9H_cI_WCnE The purple people eater disguised as leukemia ate him up on September 16, 2003.
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “immeritous” which means undeserving which is the perfect description of most if not all denizens of the Swamp.
5. Back to the Future--celebrating the birth on this day in 1961 of Michael J. Fox, noted Canadian-American actor and advocate for those including himself suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. Still going strong and an inspiration to those unfortunate enough to suffer from the disease.
On this day in:
a. 68 Emperor Nero after quoting from the Iliad committed suicide setting off the Roman civil war known as the Year of the Four Emperors.
b. 1915 Secretary of State William Jennings Bryant resigned in disagreement with Woodrow Wilson’s response to the sinking of the RMS Lusitania.
c. 1934 Donald Duck made his debut in The Wise Little Hen.
d. 1972 after days of severe rain storms, the Canyon Lake Dam above Rapid City, South Dakota burst creating a flood that drowned 238 people and caused $160 million of damage.
e. 1978 in a what took you so long moment, the Church of the Latter Day Saints after 148 years of excluding African Americans opened its priesthood to “all worthy men.”
Regardless of the disease or the circumstances in the game of life, reflection on how to face issues we sometimes have to confront: “Acceptance doesn't mean resignation; it means understanding that something is what it is and that there's got to be a way through it.” Michael J. Fox. Probably explains why he has continue to work and create the Michael J. Fox Foundation to assist fellow sufferers of Parkinson’s Disease.  Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet and follow me) and follow my blogs.
