July 22, 2016 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Rat Catchers Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 22, 2016. Unfortunately still 182 days to go in President Obama’s pathetic lame duck term and 231 days since hiding Hillary has held a formal press conference; Ivanka and Trump both hit it out of the park last night and the confetti one saw at the end of the RNC had to have been the race and gender cards that HRC must play to hide her pathetic record and her lies being torn to shreds by Ivanka’s “color blind gender neutral” introduction speech http://alaskanpoet.blogspot.com/2016/07/trump-and-ivanka-hit-it-out-of-park.html; Peter Thiel made history as the first gay speaker to announce that he was proud to be gay to loud applause and advised the party to shy away from the culture wars; this poet is going to miss the political theater of the RNC knowing that the DNC will be described in one word “boring;” the only drama left for the Blues is who Hillary will pick as a running mate; breaking news out of Munich of a shooting spree in the Munich Olympia Mall with the number shooters and the number of dead and wounded not yet confirmed but the Munich transportation system in response shut down and the main train station evacuated as unconfirmed reports of shootings occurring in other parts of the city are being reported—another bad day for the civilized world from the threat of radical Islam that Obama in his delusions continues to assure us is being contained.
On the sports front Dennis Green former long time coach of the Green Bay Packers and a former head coach at Stanford died of a heart attack; the NBA as a result of North Carolina’s transgender bathroom law announced that the 2017 NBA All Star Game will not be played there.    Going to www.lyingcrookedhillary.com is a great way to start your day along of course with www.alaskanpoet.blogspot.com

b. 1933 aviator Wiley Post completed the first round the world solo trip in an airplane in seven days, eighteen hours and forty-nine minutes.
c.  1937 the U.S. Senate voted down President Roosevelt’s attempt to increase the number of justices for SCOTUS.
d. 1942 the United States instituted gasoline rationing due to wartime demands for gasoline for the armed forces.
e. 1991 serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested in Milwaukee after police find human body parts  in his apartment (he was convicted of the rape, murder, necrophilia and dismemberment of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991, sentenced to life imprisonment which proved to  be somewhat brief as he was beaten to death by another inmate on November 28, 1994.
Reflections on FDR’s attempt to pack SCOTUS with additional judges if any judge over the age of 70 would not retire: Age does not define ideology. Even though Roosevelt looked at what he called the 'nine old men of the Supreme Court' and suggested that the older justices were falling out of touch with reality, the oldest justice on that court in the 1930s was Brandeis, the great liberal justice. And this was pointed out with glee with many of Roosevelt's opponents. ... So, you don't hear anything like that today. You hear concern on the part of progressives in this country that Justice Stevens and the other liberals are more likely to leave the court soon than any of the conservatives are, but I think we've come a long way since the 1930s, when that argument was  made so forcefully by Franklin Roosevelt."
