Ridley’s Believe
It Or Not For January 15, 2019 Trump invited Congressional leaders to the White
House but Democrats under Pelosi’s mandate of no negotiation did not attend
(are there any Democrats in the House with a what’s best for the nation spine
to cross this Banana Republic’s dictatorship and try to govern); optics of the
30 Blues and their families frolicking in the Puerto Rico sun while 800,000 are
without paychecks are really bad for the Blues who like the Reds are being paid
(cutting them off during the shutdown would mean AOC would not have the money
to pay her rent); the UK Parliament has rejected Prime Minister May’s EU
withdrawal agreement which has put British politics into a turmoil with a March
29 deadline fast approaching; super leftist mayor who is pushing free health care
for illegals is now proposing to seize rental property from owners that are
making their properties unliveable to have tenants leave and thereby remove
units from rent control; the former general counsel to Comey’s politicized FBI
is under criminal investigation for media leaks (transcripts are being leaked
that the FBI started a criminal investigation over whether Trump was influenced
by Russia to fire disgraced Comey—very dangerous precedent akin to Banana
Republics using police forces to remove officials over policy disputes which is
not the proper scope of the FBI);
the DNC has
pulled its head out of the anti-Semitic sand and will not be sponsoring the
Women’s March due to its connection and praise of Louis Farrakhan (wise move as
Farrakhan is a toxic anti-Semite); SCOTUS has upheld a Circuit Court of Appeals
decision dismissing suits brought by veterans claiming injury due to the use of
burn pits in Afghanistan and Iraq; my daily source for murders and shootings
has stopped publishing so this feature will no longer appear in Ridley's
Believe It Or Not-This Day In History.

Reflections
on Wikipedia: “In the media age, everybody was famous for 15 minutes. In the
Wikipedia age, everybody can be an expert in five minutes. Special bonus: You
can edit your own entry to make yourself seem even smarter.” Stephen Colbert, noted
late night talk show host.
