Ridley’s Believe It Or Not February 11, 2021
CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues the new year with surging cases now over 108 million at 108,248,345 with 395,250 new cases (a .37% increase) 25,448,099 of which are active, 82,800,246 closed with 80,424,059 recoveries (97.13% and 97.13% yesterday) and 2,376,187 deaths (2.87% and 2.87% yesterday) to continue the trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 27 million at 27,700,629 with 286,820 new cases (a 1.04% increase) with 9,594,011 active cases of which 20,883 (.22% of active cases and a decrease now of 8,388 from a peak of 29,271 on December 31) are in serious or critical condition, 18,393,438 closures, 486,435 of which have been deaths (2.64% and 2.64% yesterday) and 17,907,003 of which have been recoveries (97.36% and 97.36% yesterday). Our death rate percentage continues to improve and after many months is now .23% lower than the world rate and now .07% lower than Canada which has the socialized type medicine Biden may well want to implement here and on a deaths per million population measurement on a steady climb to 1464 ranks behind Belgium (1861), UK (1696) which had passed us despite leading world in testing), and Italy (1535) and only slightly worse than Portugal (1462), Hungary (1394), Bulgaria (1382), Spain (1373), Mexico (1308), Peru (1289), France (1236), Sweden (1220) that never closed its economy down like we did but has recently been experiencing a rapid rise in deaths, Switzerland (1119), Brazil (1106), Argentina (1097), Poland (1062), Chile (1002), and Bolivia (934) and we have now conducted 330,063,039 tests (now at 993,587/M) compared to Russia at 723,442/M) as we are conducting more tests in number and on a per capital basis for all nations (other than those nations that contain small populations like Bahrain, Denmark, Israel, Malta, Singapore and UAE) other than the U.K. which remains off the testing charts with tests at 1,178,587/M.
US Vaccinations: In the U.S. as of 2/11/2021 48 million doses have been given, 1.62 million per day in the last week. In California 5,291,493 total doses have been given (down to 66.7% of doses received), but typical of Newsom’s ineptness and despite the power of growing signatures on his recall petition, California has slightly improved and is now at 36th out of 50 in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states. A long way to go to get herd immunity but some improvement relative to other states but still a good reason to recall this inept governor. As of 2/11/2021 in California we have reduced hospitalizations to 11,516/M with COVID-19 patients hospitalized occupying 18.8% of all hospital beds.
Non CV Case News: The Blues in the kangaroo court impeachment trial of Ex-President Trump have rested their case and the defense of ex-President Trump will begin tomorrow; already the Blues expecting that the Senate will not find Trump guilty of the impeachable offense charged are laying plans to use the 14th Amendment to try to bar Trump from serving any federal office; we now find that the Boss upon his arrest in November for DWI refused to take a blood test and the officer charging him claimed he reeked of alcohol (good for Jeep to pull the ad); given the Biden Family’s entanglements with China, after Biden’s call with China’s Xi Jinping, he finally said something astute after pooh poohing the threats of China as an existential threat to the U.S., namely that China is “going to eat our lunch” alluding to their work in high speed rail (what about IP theft, hacking, currency manipulation, military saber rattling and unfair trade practices Joe?); Biden’s call for opening the schools seems to be limited to one day a week in classroom teaching to the anger and dismay of most parents and the science that says infections in elementary schools are almost nonexistent; Meghan McCain is by no means a raving conservative but Blues should listen when she attacks Biden’s pick Neera Tanden as totally unsuitable as head of Office of Management and Budget due to her leftist rants and rhetoric (why Biden should expend political capital on this nominee is mind boggling when even Sanders is dodging questions of whether he would vote for her confirmation); in what a difference a scandal makes, John Weaver, the co-founder of the anti-Trump super PAC the Lincoln Project, is under fire for at least 10 claims of harassment which the PAC evidently ignored as it raised millions to defeat Trump and line the pockets of those connected with the Lincoln Project (wonder if since the target was Trump, Blues and MSM gave them a free pass?); in the sordid Brittany Spears conservatorship a judge ignoring her father’s wishes that he remain the sole conservator, has ruled that Bessemer Trust Co. will be the co-conservator; hard to believe but Cuomo is facing heat over his pandemic emergency powers as Mayor Di Blasio is demanding they be ended; the Grey Lady is becoming more and more rightfully called the Rag Lady as it refused to publish an editorial by conservative Bret Stephens that would have criticized the editors of this once decent newspaper; as Newsom was heckled by recall chanters in Fresno, here’s the link to join the final less than 100,000 signatures needed to put Newsom on a recall ballot where he needs to be given his unmitigated ineptness: https://recallgavin2020.com/petition/
Chicago Gun Violence: HeyJackass.com is back to show that through February 10, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 314 persons shot of whom 67 have died.

Reflections on the Rosenbergs’ execution: “I am convinced that the only conclusion to be drawn from the history of this case is that the Rosenbergs have received the benefits of every safeguard which American justice can provide. There is no question in my mind that their original trial and the long series of appeals constitute the fullest measure of justice and due process of law. Throughout the innumerable complications and technicalities of this case no Judge has ever expressed any doubt that they committed most
Serious acts of espionage.
Accordingly, only most extraordinary circumstances would warrant Executive intervention in the case. I am not unmindful of the fact that this case has aroused grave concern both here and abroad in the minds of serious people aside from the considerations of law. In this connection I can only say that, by immeasurably increasing the chances of atomic war, the Rosenbergs may have condemned to death tens of millions of innocent people all over the world. The execution of two human beings is a grave matter. But even graver is the thought of millions of dead, whose death may be directly attributable to what these spies have done.
When democracy's enemies have been judged guilty of a crime as horrible as that of which the Rosenbergs were convicted: when the legal processes of democracy have been marshaled to their maximum strength to protect the lives of convicted spies: when in their most solemn judgment the tribunals of the United States has adjudged them guilty and the sentence just. I will not intervene in this matter." President Dwight Eisenhower, rejecting a plea for clemency of the Rosenbergs.
