October 2, 2019 Ridley's Believe It Or Not International Day of Non-Violencedtereive I

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For October 2, 2019 Maybe Maxine Waters is trying to protect Trump from a prison’s general population when she calls for he to be put in solitary confinement but coming from this in your face ideologue that concept is most doubtful and again reminds us how over the top blowing the dog whistles of violence on this day devoted to non-violence the Blues like Waters are; on the I can’t live on my Congressional salary front, Rashida Tlaib is trying to make ends meet and capitalize on impeachment inquiry by selling T-shirts with the logo “Impeach the MF”(clear the Blues running for president should recuse themselves @#Harrisrecuse ) but many believe this biased profiteer should do likewise as if he is not impeached she will be left with a lot of unsold T-shirts; other than in Montana there have been no blizzards save in the Swamp where the blizzard of subpoenas are inundating the White House in the Blues desperate attempt to morph a phone call into an impeachable offense; as revelations come out that the whistleblower met with Schiff and Trump goes on the warpath over his “parody” of the phone and raises the allegation that Schiff or his minions were involved in his or her letter, Reds in the House are demanding he be censured and removed from his committee chairs (this impeachment inquiry gets more and more muddled each day); Pelosi is forging ahead on an impeachment inquiry without holding a vote to do so which may emasculate the committees on a subpoena blizzard for documents which if the Trump Administration contests as the courts may not support their requests but Pelosi will achieve her goal of protecting those Blues in Red Districts Trump won of having to vote on impeachment (wise political move which reveals the depth of her desire to retain power and remove Trump); as Trump ramps up ads alleging criminal activity on behalf of Biden in favor of his son on Ukraine, a just released Monmouth University Poll shows a strong plurality believe Trump and not Biden; but Trump is not out of the woodworks yet as a majority of voters do not favor his reelection; the difficulties of campaigning are coming home to roost on Bernie Sanders as chest pain have resulted in having two stents placed in his arteries resulting in a short hiatus in his campaign; Harris is seeking a new moniker to replace “Illegal Alien Queen” with “Antifa Tweet Blocker Queen” as she is on the warpath to try to have Trump’s Twitter Account suspended (unfortunately we want to hear what he has to say as opposed to her idiotic rants); Amber Guyger the ex-Dallas policewoman who killed her neighbor when she mistakenly went to his apartment and was convicted of murder has been sentenced to ten years; the leftist San Francisco Board of Supervisors who do not have the time, skill or effort to deal with the flood of homeless and their needles and feces had its hands slapped after they had found time to declare the NRA a “terrorist organization; normally I am diametrically opposed to the views of Michael Moore, but on Joe Biden he is spot on in comparing him to Hillary in 2016 in terms of energy and excitement; in Chicago through October 1, 2019, 2139 have been shot of whom, 367 have died; in Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population, 256 have been murdered in Baltimore (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, factoids of interest for this day in history, a musical link to Gordon Jenkins and His Orchestra and the Weavers,  the fact that you have ample access to potable water,  and a relevant quote on nonviolence by Mahatma Gandhi, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like Father’s Day, college graduations, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. 1. International Day of Non-Violencecreated on June 15, 2007 and first celebrated on September 2, 2007, the anniversary of Gandhi’s birth to promote nonviolence as a means of resolving disputes within societies and between societies.
2. World No Alcohol Day—created by the World Health Organization in 2008 and celebrated since that date on this day to promote awareness of the adverse health effects of alcohol abuse and the dangers of drinking while performing such activities as driving.
3. 1950  Number One Song— the number one song in 1950 on this day on a run of 13 weeks in the position was “Good Night Irene” by Gordon Jenkins and His Orchestra and the Weavers. Here is a recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGkRBprxJvk. Irene said good night to Gordon permanently on May 1, 1984 from Lou Gehrig’s Disease at the age of 73. The Weavers cofounded by Pete Seeger had him and the last surviving original member of the group say goodbye to Irene in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “potable” which means water fit to drink, a problem which Flint had to cope with for many months.
5. Weight Is Hard To Pin—celebrating the birth on this day in 1966 of Rodney Agatupu, noted professional championship wrestler better known to his fans as Yokozuna, who although he weighed as much as a sumo wrestler, never wrestled as such but died on October 23 weighing in as one at 580 pounds from a pulmonary edema.
On this day in:
      a. 1919 President Woodrow Wilson suffered a massive stroke which incapacitated him for several weeks and severely impaired his ability to function as president for the remainder of his term.
      b. 1967 Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American Associate Justice of SCOTUS, was sworn in.
      c. 1970 a plane chartered to carry the Wichita State Football Team carrying team members, administrators, and supporters crashed en route to a game scheduled with Utah State in Colorado resulting in 31 deaths of the 40 on board and Wichita State playing the rest of the season with freshmen players to fill vacancies created by the deaths from the plane crash.
 d. 1980 Michael Meyers, a Blue, became the first member of the House of Representatives to be expelled since the Civil War (are you listening Ilhan Omar you are not immune from the same fate?).
 e. 2002 the Washington D.C. Beltway sniper attacks began and lasted for three weeks, killing 10 and wounding 3 before the perpetrators were caught.
Reflections on Non-Violence: “Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man.” Mahatma Gandhi He is right but for far too many it so difficult to apply and the power of non-violence gets diluted to the point men and women pick up arms to settle disputes,
