Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For April 17, 2018 On the RINO front, 7 term “Republican” Congressman Dent announced that he would be leaving Congress in a few weeks; on the slow walking front, Rod Rosenstein has missed the deadline imposed by Congress to turn over the Comey memos that were leaked by Comey to Columbia Law School professor Daniel Richman as part of Comey’s plan to get a special counsel appointed (it is an outrage that memos were leaked to find their way into the The New York Times but Congress dealing with its Constitutional authority to exercise oversight is being frustrated by the FBI and should merit contempt of Congress with Rosenstein being jailed and/or impeached); on the unfriendly skies front, a Southwest Airlines’ flight from La Guardia to Dallas experienced a jet engine failure, killing one passenger and causing it to be diverted to Philadelphia to land safely; Comey hits the book tour circuit today while continuing to slam the president as being unfit (if the leaked Comey memos contained classified material, this spineless coward could and should be facing jail time); SCOTUS ruled 5-4 that federal law which authorized automatic deportation for those convicted of “crimes of violence” was vague and therefore unenforceable with Justice Gorsuch joining the liberal members of SCOTUS (change the law by setting forth crimes that merit deportation so we can remove these scumbags once they have served their sentences); Moonbeam is back in the news as backlash in California builds over the idiocy of California’s sanctuary status law by slamming low life politicians who oppose the idea of keeping our communities safe (only a true low life like Moonbeam would be able to identify Reds as low lives); Stormy Daniels appeared on the clueless The View with a sketch of a man she alleged approached her and threatened her if she told anyone about her affair with Donald Trump (when will MSM come to the realization that people are more concerned with pocket book issues that Trump is solving?); in Chicago through April 16, 2018, 627 people have been shot, of whom 105 have died.

4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “maffick” which means to celebrate in a boisterous and hilarious manner the Reds will do if against expectations of the Blues they keep control of the House of Representatives.
5. What’s In Your Wallet—celebrating the birth on this day in 1972 of noted actress Jennifer Garner and great spokesperson for Capital One with her signature question “What’s in your wallet?”

a. 1524 Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano under the employ of the King Francis I of France entered New York harbor (the Verrazano Narrows Bridge) connecting the Buroughs of Brooklyn and Staten Island is named after him although his name is misspelled).
b. 1907 the Ellis Island immigration center processed a record number of immigrants, 11,747 in one day.
c. 1961 a group of some 1500 Cuban exiles trained and financed by the CIA landed at the Bay of Pigs in the hope that the Cubans would rise up and join them to overthrow Castro which they did not and the invasion was crushed by the Cuban military in three days.
d. 1969 Sirhan Sirhan was convicted of assassinating Robert Kennedy after he had won the California primary on June 5, 1968 and would have been the Democratic nominee for President of the United States and is today rotting away in prison with another parole hearing scheduled for 2021.
e. 2014 in a we may not be alone moment, NASA’s Kepler Satellite launched on March 7, 2009 confirmed the first Earth sized planet in the habitable zone of another star.
Reflections on the importance of education in improving one’s lot in life: “My mom grew up in poverty in Oklahoma - like Dust Bowl, nine people in one room kind of place - and the way she got out of poverty was through education. My dad grew up without a dad, with very little and he also made his way out through education.” Jennifer Garner Could not agree more which makes it so disappointing to see how urban public schools are totally failing in their mission to educate inner city youths who drop out like flies and end up far too often in gangs and/or prison.
