Ridley’s
Believe It Or Not For April 15, 2018 On the Comey corruption of the FBI front, Comey on the news
circuit indicated he thought Hillary would win (not alone on that front with
the sycophantic MSM seduced by the same belief) and that belief influenced how
he handled the FBI “investigation” of her private e-mail and misuse of
classified information; recommend all read the 39 pages of the IG report if
they have any questions on why McCabe was fired and why many Reds believe the
investigation of Hillary was a complete sham doing everything possible to make
sure her anticipated coronation was not going to be sidetracked by her usage of
a private e-mail server and her mishandling of classified information: https://www.vox.com/2018/4/13/17188262/inspector-general-report-horowitz-mccabe-comey; Comey is
shedding credibility faster than a man with terminal dandruff as he prepares to
go on his dud book tour on next week for “Disloyalty”
or “Higher Royalty;” on the food
contamination front, 207 million eggs shipped to the states of Colorado,
Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina,
Virginia and West Virginia have been recalled due to potential salmonella
contamination; on the over the top rhetoric front, DNC co-chair Keith Ellison
is making the outlandish claim that because of Blue losses, women are dying in
childbirth; although you need ID to enter an increasing number of office
buildings, board a ship, train, plane or intercity or enter many federal or
state buildings, or cash a check, etc., Joe Biden trying to remain relevant is
slamming any attempts by Red led states to require ID when voting as a means to
deter voter fraud; in Chicago through
April 14, 2018, 508 people have been shot, of whom 103 have died (another
rarity no one died on April 13 and 14).
As always,
I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to The Marcels;
factoids of interest for this day in history, the fact that you are not suffering
from madarosis and a relevant quote by Ruslan Tsarni, the uncle of the two
Boston Marathon Bombers on the need to forgive and turn oneself in, secure in the
knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like
birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can
provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the
event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. World Art Day—proposed by the
General Assembly of the International Association of Art to be first celebrated
on this day (birthday of Leonardo da Vinci) in 2012 to promote the importance
of art in our daily lives and to promote peace and understand among the peoples
of the world. If fortunate to live in the great L.A. Metropolitan Area, good
way to celebrate would be to click on https://curate.la/.
2. Universal Day of
Culture—proposed the Russian artist Nicholas Roerich in 1935 as a day
to ”be consecrated to the full
appreciation of all national and universal treasures of culture.” His vision
became a reality in December of 2008 when NGO’s from six countries agreed to
adopt April 15 as the Universal Day of Culture.
3. 1961 Number One
Song— the
number one song in 1961 on a run of 3 weeks in that position was “Blue
Moon” by The Marcels. Here is a recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoi3TH59ZEs
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of
the day is “madarosis” which means the loss of eyelashes or eyebrows which can
be a marker for other diseases such as syphilis or herpes.
5. Witches Are Not
Immortal—celebrating the birth on this day in 1933 of noted actress
Elizabeth Montgomery who perhaps is best remembered for her long running series
where she played Samantha in Bewitched. Supposedly
a chain smoker like many of the cast, she was part of the 85% of the cast that
died from cancer.
On
this day in:
a. 1892 the
General Electric Company was founded by Thomas Edison and others.
b. 1947 Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in MLB when he
debuted with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
c. 1955 McDonald’s marked its founding when Ray Kroc opened a
McDonalds in Des Plaines, Illinois.
d. 1989 soccer
may not be dangerous for the players like football but it can be for spectators
as at Hillsborough Stadium in England, 96 Liverpool Football Club fans were killed
by being crushed by spectators crowding into the stadium fences.
e. 2013 two
pressure cooker bombs were detonated 12 seconds apart near the finish line of
the Boston Marathon, killing 3 and wounding 264 others, 12 of whom lost at least
one leg.,
Reflections on the Boston Marathon Bombings: “I respect this
country. I love this country. This country which gives chance to everybody else
to be treated as a human being and to just to be human being. To feel yourself
human being…. My wife opened up Internet, and on A.O.L., on A.O.L. I saw a picture
of Dzhokhar. I say, Dzhokhar, if you are alive, turn yourself in, and ask for
forgiveness from the victims, from the injured, and from those who left,
ask forgiveness from these people….Turn yourself in.” Ruslan Tsarni, uncle of
the the two Tsarnaev Brothers in a interview with Nicholas Thompson, The New Yorker, April 19, 2013 Please
