1. World Radio Day—observed since 2013 to commemorate the importance of radio linkage to the world in isolated rural communities in the developing world.
2. Madly In Love With Me Day—honoring the obvious that on the eve of Valentines’ Day you will find it hard to truly love a Valentine if you first do not love yourself. 3. 2012 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song on this day in 2012 and looking forward to in three days going back to the 60’s and escaping rap and hip hop as part of a 4 week run Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) by Kelly Clarkson, the first American Idol winner.
4. National Tortellini Day—celebrating great pasta stuffed with ham, cheese and white meat from the Bologna Region of Italy served topped with a savory sauce.
5. Right Stuff Day—celebrating not the perfect stuffing for the turkey but the birthday on this day in 1922 of Chuck Yeager, a WWII P-51 fighter pilot who in the Bell X-1 was the first person to break the sound barrier and was immortalized by Sam Sheppard in the 1983 film The Right Stuff.

a. 1914 in New York City the Association Society of Composers, Artists and Publishers (ASCAP) was formed to protect the copyright interests of its members. b. 1954 Frank Selvy set the NCAA Division I record by scoring 100 points in a basketball game; he went on to a nine year pro basketball career but is best known for missing in game 7 of the championship series between the Lakers and the Celtics a game winning 12 foot jump shot which resulted in the game going into overtime which the Celtics won.
c. 1960 De Gaulle’s Force de Frappe became a reality as France became the fourth nation to possess nuclear weapons.
d. 1990 an agreement was reached to unify East Germany and West Germany.
e. 2011 in really better late than never moment but after 156 years the Umatilla, an American Indian tribe were able to hunt and harvest buffalo just outside Yellowstone National Park, restoring a centuries old tradition guaranteed by a treaty we chose to ignore signed in 1855.
