Ridley's Believe It Or Not--This Day In History-January 10, 2014

Ridley's Believe It Or Not--January 10, 2014:  Slow day and week (and I mean another day of  scrapping the bottom of the barrel slow) for holidays unless your lucky or strange  enough to celebrate:
             1.
League of Nations Day--U.S. did not join and it collapsed.
             2. National Cut Your Energy Costs Day--tough to do in below zero temps.
impersonators while wearing your blue suede shoes.
             3. Universal Letter Writing Week 1/8-1/14-- Lost art sadly.
On this day in:
             a.  1920 the League of Nations was established after the War to End All Wars.
             b.  1946 the first meeting of the U.N. General Assembly took place.
             c.   1951 the permanent headquarters of the U.N. was established in New York City.
When do we celebrate, if ever, Energy Production Day? "Conservation may be a sign of personal virtue, but it is not a sufficient basis for a sound, comprehensive energy policy. Dick Cheny. I think North Dakota which is leading the fracking charge for expandied energy production and almost zero unemployment would support such a new holiday.
Kudos to all the interesting consumer electronic products we will be hard pressed to afford or understand and use all the functions on display the Internation CES happening this week in Las Vegas.
