Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For April 16, 2019 The Mueller
Report which will be redacted will be released on Thursday and already the
snake Nadler is fuming that redactions required by law or sources and methods
and grand jury testimony are illegal and he will subpoena the full unredacted
report (every time he opens his mouth he shrinks in stature to reveal the biased
anti-Trump hack he is); while the Blues continue to rail against the rich, tax
returns released show that the illegal alien supporter queen Kamala Harris and
her husband lead the pack in terms of income, raking in $1.9 million in
adjusted gross income (being a leftist redistribute the wealth advocate is
always easier when you have earned enough income to sate your spending needs);
Bernie Sanders stepped into the Fox Den that the DNC will not allow its primary
debates to go to defend his record at a town hall meeting and calling for immigration reform
and a secure border (you may disagree with his socialist ideas but he comes
across as a man of character to fight for what he believes in); firefighters
have put out the conflagration at Notre Dame as pledges across France are
coming in to restore the cathedral which experts are claiming was a disaster
waiting to happen to years of neglect in maintenance; when the Mueller Report
is released there should be almost certainty that it will not have addressed
the “investigation” by Comey’s corrupted FBI of Hillary’s illegal use of a
private server nor will it have examined disturbing acts by the Obama
Administration to spy on the campaign of Donald Trump (be you a Blue, Red or
Indy you should be outraged that a sitting president may have weaponized the FBI
and DOJ to spy on a candidate campaigning to reverse its legacy); just when you
thought we had nothing to fear, disturbing news that in Siberia, climate change
may be melting permafrost and releasing into the atmosphere a host of deadly
pathogens like anthrax; on the medical advancement front, in the U.S., gene altering
protocol known as CRISPR is being used to treat patients with cancer who have
relapsed; thanks to the radical and anti-Semitic views of Rep Ilhan Omar, the
Trump 2020 campaign believes it has a chance to flip Minnesota over to the Red
column (that woman is so out of touch with our core values that as a poster
child for the left he may be right); as
of April 15, 2019, 554 people have been shot in Chicago of whom 102 have died
(what makes the Smollett case so frustrating is that it forced the city of
Chicago to allocate scarce detective resources when in only 9% of the shootings
resulting in murder have a suspect being charged this year).
As always, I
hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Starship,
factoids of interest for this day in history, the fact that you do not
believe in panpharmacon, and a relevant quote from Jack Kervokian on
euthanasia, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any
memorable events like college graduations, birthdays, weddings,
or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a
unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the
recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. Four Square Day—created by optometrist Nate Bonilla-Warford in 2010 as a play on
squaring the 4th month to increase his business; not sure how
successful the promotion was but the observance is now on Wikipedia.
2. World Voice Day— created in Brazil in 1999 to promote
awareness of the importance of voice communication in our culture,
relationships and business at a time when our youth seem to have lost the art
of oral communication, replacing it with texting.
3. 1988 Number One Song—the number one song on this day in 1988 on a run of 2 weeks in
that position was “Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car” by Billy Ocean.
Here is a recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNgcYGgtf8M . This vegetarian is still going strong at 69.
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day as we move from words beginning with “o”
to words beginning with “p” is “panpharmacon” which means a universal
remedy which Blues believe is more spending and higher taxes and Reds less spending
and lower taxes.
5. Best Ever Pop Singer--celebrating the birthday on this day in 1939 noted British born singer
Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O’Brien better known to her fans as Dusty
Springfield who was named by Rolling
Stone Magazine as the best pop singer ever but battled drug addiction to
derail her career but bounced back only to die of breast cancer in 1999.
On this day
in:
a. 1947 the French freighter SS
Grandcamp caught on fire while docked in Texas City, Texas, igniting over
2,200 tons of ammonia nitrate the explosions and resulting fires from which killed at least 581 people and spawned the first
federal class action law suit under the Federal Tort Claims Act against the
U.S. Government.
b. 1947 Bernard Baruch first used the term ”Cold War” to
describe the relations between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.
c. 1990 Doctor Death Jack Kevorkian assisted in his assisted suicide.
d. 2007 at Virginia Tech, student Seung Hui Cho shot and killed
32 people and wounded 17 others before killing himself.
e. 2012 for the first time since 1977 no Pulitzer Prize for fiction
was announced.
Reflections on euthanasia:
“My intent was to carry out my duty as a doctor, to end their suffering.
Unfortunately, that entailed, in their cases, ending of the life.” Jack Kevorkian
Jack was the late term bookend for elderly or terminally ill patient just as
the other book end is the late term abortionist.
