Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For December 17, 2018 Mueller’s band
of witch-hunters has failed to turn over the original 302 summarizing the
interview of Flynn to District Court Judge Sullivan and may find themselves in
contempt (after $25 million wasted and no collusion other that by HRC with the
anti-Trump dossier it is time to shut this rogue “investigation” down);
disgraced and lying James Comey lashed out at Reds after another day of
testifying in a closed session today (this sanctimonious politicized hack has
totally damaged the reputation and integrity of a respected institution that
Americans before the HRC e-mail scandal had faith in); Les Moonves the
disgraced reptilian brain governed head of CBS found out how expensive it is to
not control its urges as the Board of Directors has determined that his firing
was for cause and stripped him of his severance benefits; in a troubling report
the GAO found that the U.S. is unable to defend against a new generation of
hypersonic Russian and Chinese missiles; on the how depraved can humans be a Brazilian
couple and their mistress were sentenced to several decades in prison after
being convicted of killing women and stuffing their flesh in to pastries which
they gave to neighbors; Senator Lamar Alexander has rebuffed President Trump’s
plea to run for reelection in 2020 and announced he will not run for reelection
in 2020; Saudi Arabia has denounced the resolution passed by the Senate
withdrawing military aid to the Saudis in the civil war being waged in Yemen;
Senator Chris Coons revealed himself to be a biased partisan buffoon by alleging
that Trump was acting more like a mob boss than a president in attacking Cohen
(cool the rhetoric down senator as the raid on Cohen’s office was an unprecedented
blow to the attorney client privilege); Google has announced a $1 billion plan
to create a new campus for Google on the Hudson River in Manhattan which will
add another 7,000 employees; Goldman Sachs is facing criminal charges for its
role in the 1MDB scandal in Malaysia; Emanuel’s announcement that he will not
seek reelection has not curbed the gun violence as through December 16, 2018,
2861 people mostly of color have been shot by mostly people of color, of whom 481
have died (when will Chicago get serious about this carnage or is this the case
of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the
slaughter of mostly people of color by mostly people of color).
As always,
I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Debby
Boone, factoids of interest for this day in history, the fact that you are
not committing acts that will result in being objurgated and a relevant quote
from Oroville Wright on flight, secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any
memorable events like college graduations, birthdays, weddings,
or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a
unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the
recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. Wright Brothers Day—celebrating the first flight of a heavier than air plane by the
Wright Brothers on this day in 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
2. Pan American Aviation Day—celebrating the development and expansion of
air travel in the Western Hemisphere.
3. 1977 Number One Song— the number one song in 1977 on a run of 10 weeks in that
position was “You Light Up My Life” by Debby Boone. Here is a recording of
the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b07-yKnKRMQ
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day as we move from words beginning with “n”
to words beginning with “o” is “objurgate” which means to scold or
rebuke which is what mere mortals should do to the MSM with their biased
reporting of the news.
5. Nerfball Instead of Hard—celebrating or bemoaning, depending on your point of view, the birth on this day in 1945 of Chris Matthews a very biased “journalist” on MSNBC who
tees up softballs or nerfballs to Blues and 100 mile an hour fastballs to Reds
and is symptomatic of the bias in the MSM.
On this day in:
a. 497 BC the first Saturnalia, whose tradition of gift giving
was appropriated by Christianity, was celebrated in ancient Rome.
b. 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge at Malmedy, Belgium the
SS of Kampfegruppe Joichin Pieper massacred American prisoners, a crime which
galvanized the Americans.
c. 1989 The Simpsons premiered
on TV with the first show of “Simpsons Roasting Over An Open Fire.” d. 2010
Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire in Tunisia and his death prompted the
Tunisian Revolution and the much larger Arab Spring.
e. 2014 the U.S. and Cuba reestablished diplomatic relations
after they were severed in 1961.
Reflections
on the desire to fly: "The desire to fly is an idea handed down to us by
our ancestors who, in their grueling travels across trackless lands in
prehistoric times, looked enviously on the birds soaring freely through."
Orville Wright
