September 15, 2021 Ridley's Believe It Or Not International Day of Democracy

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not September 15, 2021

CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 226 million at  226,412,464 cases,  18,648,755 of which are active, 207,763,709  closed with 203,106,014 recoveries (97.76%), and 4,657,695 deaths (2.24% yesterday) to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 42 million at 42,153,664  with 9,404,217 active cases of which 25,467 are serious or critical, (8,599 on 3/25/2021) (back to slight decrease despite the  Delta variant to .271 % of active cases and to increase the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 3,804,  32,749,447 closed, with 680,447 deaths (2.08%) and with 32,069,000 recoveries (97.92%). Our death rate percentage is now .16% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 2041 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5930) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.26% of total cases now; Hungary the new number 2 has had a huge continuing surge in deaths with the increase now slowing down and improving slightly to  3.77% of its closed cases have died (3126), aping Hungary in terms of increase in deaths Bulgaria (2855),   Brazil (2739) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths and cases and passed us and Italy, Argentina (2487),  Columbia newly added to the list  (2439),   Belgium (2186), Italy (2154), Mexico (2053), Poland (1996), and slightly better than Poland (1996), UK (1968),  Chile (1929), Romania (1841), Spain (1829),  Ecuador newly added to list (1806),  France (1768), Portugal (1759), Bolivia (1569),  Sweden (1444) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1261). As vaccine mandate hysteria grows in the U.S., if you are infected you have a 1.614% chance of dying and if you are over 65 the percentages of deaths for that group is 78%.
Tests: We have now conducted 609,867,836 tests (1,829,614/M) just passed by France at 2,019,692 who is now 1st  on a per capital basis for all nations (other than those nations that contain small populations like Bahrain, Denmark, Israel, Malta, Singapore and UAE) other than the U.K. which remains as king of the mountain with respect to tests at 4,193,781/M.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which has been passed by Argentina and newly added Columbia but passed the UK  to move up to 10th 9th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2053/M with a fatality rate of 8.55% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:  42,847 Deaths/M 696
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 236,140 Deaths/M 928
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   13,316 Deaths/M 466
US Vaccinations: As of 9/14/ 2021 380.8 million doses,  .775 million per day (down to 4 months for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 81,684  per day  (which means if the rate does not increase it will take us still some 3 months to have 75% of the population of California vaccinated which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 49,162,298 total doses have been given (86.9%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 83.5%), but due to the pressure of a recall vote for which ends today, California has  moved from  10th tied with Minnesota to alone in 9th  of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 57.2% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 53.9% and has  moved up from 16th place to 15th  as a percentage of the population fully vaccinated.
A  long way to go still to get herd immunity in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states which means a great reason to recall this inept and hypocritical governor.
              Non  CV News: Ilan Omar is ranting fire and brimstone after a judge banned a defund the police initiative to be placed on the defund the police (the people who need the most police protection are the poor and minorities who will be left high and dry if  Omar’s petition would pass); on the COVID-19 front new worries that those who took the Moderna earlier are risking the immunity from the vaccine fading; the first casualty of a fail recall is that at least in Los Angeles County, proof of vaccination or a negative test will be required; Jewell Jones, a Michigan State Representative arrested for DUI and out on bail has violated the terms of his bond for the third and after placed in jail was found with a handcuff key and charged with an attempt to  escape (this Blue scumbag is no gem does not even rise to the level of costumer jewelry); Candace Ayers, a 66 year old woman vaccinated this spring has died  from COVID-19 and her obituary blames the unvaccinated to add fuel to the debate over vaccine mandates (why Biden doesn’t follow the science and exclude people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have natural immunity boggles the mind); space tourism took another step closer to reality as SpaceX Inspiration 4 was launched into a 3 day orbit with an all civilian crew, a historic first; Woke is alive and well at Virginia Tech as “Professor” Chrystal Lave saw fit to apologize to her students of color for being a white cisgender straight female touting the inanity that being white is innately racist; lawyers for Kim Potter, the white police officer who shot and killed black Daunte Wright when she thought she was using a taser and was charged with 2nd degree manslaughter was in court moving to have the judge dismiss the 1st degree manslaughter that the icon of objectivity and non-bias Keith Ellison whose office has recently taken over the case had just filed; in another example of why we have an illegal alien problem, Capt. Phip’s Seafood, a Maryland seafood processing company and its owner have pled guilty hiring 89 illegals and scamming the H-2B visa program; the crisis at the border continues with 200,887 illegals captured, a 317% increase over August of last year and Bided does squat to curtail it;
as Bush disgraced himself on 9/11 with his remarks on terrorism that also equated non existent white supremacy with Islamic terrorism, leave it to the political cartoonist to highlight what a fool he is:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through September 14, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 3291 persons shot of whom 561 have died.

              1.  International Day of Democracy—created by the UN General Assembly in 2007 to promote democracy as a form of government; unfortunately far too many countries have chosen dictatorships or pseudo one party “democracies”.
              2.
World lymphoma Awareness Day—created by the Lymphoma Council in 2004 to promote awareness on Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the areas of symptom recognition, detection and treatment.
              3. 2005 Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 2005 on this day was “We Belong Together” by Mariah Carey on a run in that position of 14 weeks noncontinuous to join 7 other songs that achieved number 1 status, the lowest number ever,  as 5 acts achieved their first number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. Here is a music video of “We Belong Together” by Mariah Carey:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0habxsuXW4g.

              4.  Word of the Day—the word of the day is “sequacious” which means compliant which describes the MSM in reference to Biden’s need to not expose his mental losses and his policy failures.
              5.
0 for 4celebrating the birth on this day in 1946 of noted Harvard student, member of the undefeated 1968 Harvard football team and roommate to Al Gore, Tommy Lee Jones who has been nominated for an Academy Award 4 times but still skunked.

              On this day in:
              a. 1950 in one of MacArthur’s more famous military maneuvers, U.S. troops made an amphibious landing at the Port of Inchon, dooming the efforts of the North Korean Army to drive American forces out of the Pusan Perimeter and into the sea.
              b. 1962 the Soviet freighter Poltava carrying Medium Range Ballistic Missiles that could carry nuclear warheads set sail for Cuba whose voyage would soon create the Cuban Missile Crisis and bring the world closer to a nuclear war than it has ever been and hopefully never repeat.
              c. 1981 the Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved Sandra Day O’Connor’s nomination to SCOTUS.
              d. 2008 Lehman Brothers filed for Chapter XI Bankruptcy, the largest bankruptcy filing in U.S. history.
              e. 2020 prompted and encouraged by President Trump, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirate signed agreements in Washington, D.C. normalizing relations with Israel.
Predictions on Lehman Brothers’ financial prospects: “Lehman Brothers: Bruised, Not Broken And Poised For Profitability—Initiating an overweight with a $31 price target. We think near-term risk of incremental write-downs is balanced by solid liquidity and capital funding.” Morgan Stanley June 30, 2008, rating Lehman Brothers as overweight . I wonder if the analysts at Morgan Stanley who came up with that rating lost their jobs.
