Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For April 14, 2020 Trump quashed rumors he was going to fire Dr. Fauci and announced he is cutting funding to W.H.O over its duplicity with China in concealing the C)VID-19 pandemic; as the death toll and new cases from the COVID-19 virus continue to rise, disturbing suspicions about its Wuhan origin have surfaced from leaked State Department cables in 2018 the inadequacy of safety procedures at a Wuhan research lab conducting viral research on bats (what a cheap and painless way to destroy a foe-release infected bats into wet markets, infect expendable residents, cause them to flee out of China to create a panic and pandemic to shut down their economies all with the complicity of WHO that praised them as they lied about human to human transmission); the CV pandemic continues unabated with 59,371 new cases increasing the total to 1,983,219 cases, 1,391,468 of which are active, 591,751 have been closed with 466,606 recoveries (79%) and 125,145 deaths (21%); in the U.S. which has the dubious distinction of leading the world, new cases of 16,555 brought total cases to 603,496 with 540,157 active cases and 63,339 closures, 25,195 (39.8%) of which have been deaths and 38,144 (60.2%) have been recoveries; the curve continues to flatten slowly and the market today took off with the Dow in triple digit gains; what the Squad cannot or will not understand is that we must first deal with Americans first and their idea of handing out money to illegals is insane and should be roundly condemned by Blues and Reds alike; it can never be said that the Blues are not quick to capitalize on any misfortune get their candidates elected as a former lawyer for HRC’s campaign is threatening to sue Nevada for blocking the harvesting of ballots, a practice that is infected fatally with the election fraud virus and probably contributed significantly to the slaughter of Red candidates in California in 2018; while many Sanders supporters are in a palace revolt over his endorsement of Biden, “lead from behind” Obama has come out with a glowing endorsement of Biden viewing him a man of great wisdom without gaffes or personal corruption issues but surprisingly only attacked Republicans in Congress and not Trump by name; as more and more people are wearing masks in public, here is a helpful link on how to clean and disinfect it https://www.foxnews.com/health/homemade-coronavirus-masks-tips-wash-face-covering-properly; Italy which is number three in the world in terms of CV cases announced the lowest level of new cases in a month; in Chicago, as of April 13, 2020, 645 shootings of whom 119 have died; Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population and hoping against all hopes that 2020 will not be a record in terms of deaths still stands at 38 behind Chicago with 81 murders (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which have been more deadly and more numerous than random mass shootings?).

Hard to Out Sly a Bullet—celebrating the birth on this day in 1977 of Nate Fox who was a center for the University of Maine but was not drafted in the NBA but had a very successful career playing professional basketball in Europe for 12 years and after retirement was shot to death in his driveway on December 22, 2014 by Jeffrey Keller due to his jealousy over an emotional affair Keller was having with a woman. Keller was convicted of murder and will be spending the rest of his life in prison.
On this day in:
a. 1939 The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck was published by Viking Press four years after the Black Sunday dust storm, the worst dust storm during the Dust Bowl, swept across parts of Texas and Oklahoma.
b. 1981 the Space Shuttle Columbia after completing 36 orbits of the Earth successfully landed in the first Shuttle mission.
c. 1988 at Geneva, Switzerland, the Soviet Union signed an agreement pledging to withdraw its troop from Afghanistan.

e. 2005 the Oregon Supreme Court nullified same sex marriages that had been performed in Multnomah County (county were Portland is located).
Reflections on the mapping of the human genome: “Mapping the human genome has been compared with putting a man on the moon, but I believe it is more than that. This is the outstanding achievement not only of our lifetime, but in terms of human history. A few months ago I compared the project to the invention of the wheel. On reflection, it is more than that. I can well imagine technology making the wheel obsolete. But this code is the essence of mankind, and as long as humans exist, this code is going to be important and will be used.” Thomas M. Dexter, noted biologist.
