b. 1784 Benjamin Franklin expressed his displeasure over the naming of the bald eagle as our national symbol as opposed to the wild turkey (the bird not the Bourbon by the same name).
c. 1948 in a what took you so long moment, President Truman signed executive order 9981 banning segregation in the U.S. Armed Forces.                                                    
d. 1992 to joys of countless of Americans confined to wheel chairs or suffering other physical disabilities The Americans With Disabilities Act went into force.
e. 1998 Bill Clinton went on national TV and with a straight face and flat out lied to the American people and proclaimed: “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.”
