December 8, 2017 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National Salespersons Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For December 8, 2017  7 major fires are raging unchecked from San Diego to Ventura County destroying hundreds of structures, killing dozens of horses and forcing thousands out of their homes; another Congressman bites the dust as Red Representative Franks announced his resignation effective immediately over a complaint by a former aide that he proposed paying her $5 million to be a surrogate mother; rumors are swirling around Congress that some 40 members may have sexual harassment skeletons in their closets; Trump is holding a rally in Florida just 9 miles from Alabama in what the left are touting as a rally for Judge Moore as one of his accusers admitted she altered the writing in her year book; the new sheriff in town, the DOJ, is investigating Planned Parenthood for illegal sales of fetal body parts; the stench of bias and lack of objectivity of Mueller’s witch hunt continues to swirl as two more on his witch hunt team have been exposed attending HRC’s election night party and representing the IT staffer who sent up the infamous email server (Mueller and his entire staff need to be replaced); the Cack News Network in addition to being hopelessly biased is also incompetent as it falsely reported that the Trump campaign had an early viewing of Wikileak DNC emails when the transmission date on the emails show they were sent after release to the public; anyone stupid enough to watch Morning Joe were treated with another Mika Brzezinski rant attacking Leeann Tweeden, the radio host who was the first victim to come out publicly against pervert Al Franken and who is a Trump supporter; almost a stuck record or a gruesome  remake of Groundhog Day, Chicago style,  the carnage in Chicago continued unabated with total shootings by mostly minorities against mostly minorities in 2017 through December 7 increasing to 3408, 589 of whom have died.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Dinah Shore, factoids of interest for this day in history, latitudinarian beliefs, a relevant quote by Ann Coulter on liberal doublespeak,  secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1. National Salespersons Daycommemorating on the second Friday in December the contributions of salespersons to the economy even as their numbers decline due to the growth of online shopping that has reduced the need for salespersons.
2. Day of Finnish Music (Finland)—celebrating the birth of Jean Sibelius on this day in 1865; he is widely recognized as Finland’s greatest composer.
3. 1948 Number One Song— the number one song in 1948 on a run of 10 weeks in that position was “Button and Bows“ by Dinah Shore. Here is a recording of the song:
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “latitudinarian” which means one having tolerant views and showing no preference among religions or forms of worship, something obviously lacking in countries following Sharia.
5. Political Don Rickles—celebrating or if a member of the left bemoaning  the birth on this day in 1961 of Ann Coulter, noted conservative firebrand commentator and author, who ironically got her start as a commentator as a legal consultant to MSNBC News but very quickly moved to more conservative forums.
       On this day in:
a. 1962 workers at four New York City newspapers went on strike; the strike expanded to nine and lasted 114 days.
b. 1980 former Beatle John Lennon was shot and killed outside The Dakota in New York City.
c. 1987 the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty was executed.
d. 1991 Russia, Ukraine and Belarus executed an agreement dissolving the Soviet Union.
e. 2010 with the second launch of SpaceX Falcon 9 and the second launch of Space X Dragon, SpaceX became the first private company to launch, orbit and recover a spacecraft.

Reflections on liberals: ” What liberals mean by 'goose-stepping' or 'ethnic cleansing' is generally something along the lines of 'eliminating taxpayer funding for the National Endowment for the Arts.' But they can't say that, or people would realize they're crazy.” Ann Coulter You may dislike her but you have to admire someone who speaks her mind and does not mince words. Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet and follow me) and follow my blogs.
