July 10, 2019 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Clerihew Day;s91

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For July 10, 2019 Pelosi is getting fed up with the likes of AOC and is slamming the Progressives of the Blues for their attacks on fellow Blues (looks like she is invoking the 11th Commandment of non other than Ronald Reagan to speak ill will of fellow party  members; Blue have jumped on their sanctimonious horses demanding for Acosta’s resignation as Secretary of Labor due to the sweetheart plea dealer he made with Epstein when Acosta was an Assistant Federal District Attorney that kept Epstein out of a potential life sentence instead of 13 months covered by the plea (Epstein may not be out of the woodwork as a federal judge is considering vacating the plea since Acosta did not consult with the victims of Epstein’s sexual proclivities); Iran continues to play with fire this time with 5 Iranian gunboats trying to capture a British oil tanker but retreated after a British warship escorting the tanker threatened to fire on the gunboats; Iran continues to enrich uranium in levels permitted by the Iran nuclear deal as Trump threatens new sanctions and France sent a top diplomat to  Iran to protest (situation with Iran gets dicier and dicier each day as the rogue nation sponsor of terror shows no proclivity of backing down from its sponsorship of terrorism); “El Chapo” who was convicted in February of trafficking tons of cocaine and other drugs into the U.S. now faces prosecution demands that he be sentenced to life plus 30 years; Amy McGrath who is challenging McConnell after first indicating she although troubled by his nomination would support Kavenaugh after raising $2.5 million has shortly thereafter flipped and revealed she would have voted against him (another spineless Blue motivated by only ends justifies the means); on the Epstein front, James Patterson the author Filthy Rich which detailed his sexual escapades alleged his crimes are much worse by Weinstein, Cosby and other perpetrators in the #MeToo era and the journalist who broke the story about Epstein in 2010 is accusing Clinton of lying about his knowledge of Epstein’s criminal conduct (Bill seems to be denying his 26 trips on the Lolita Express on many of which his Secret Service was dumped); through July 9, 2019, 1346 people have been shot in Chicago of whom 240 have died (what makes the Smollett case so frustrating and why the appointment of a special prosecutor should be applauded,  is that it forced the city of Chicago to allocate scarce detective resources when in only 9% of the shootings resulting in murder has a suspect being charged this year and where is the outrage over mostly blacks shooting and killing mostly blacks?).
1. Clerihew Day—celebrating the creation and enjoyment of clerihews, a 4 line biographical poem with an AABB rhyme scheme popularized by an English poet Edmund Clerihew Bentley who was born on this day in 1875: “Ridley shared the name of an endangered Ridley Kemp Turtle; Fleet of foot there was not an obstacle he could not surpass or over it hurtle; A commercial fisherman of note and a poet more so; Verses to share the highs and together battle the lows.”
2. National Kitten Day—created in 2014 by Celebrity Pet Lifestyle Expert and Animal Welfare Advocate Colleen Paige as an adjunct holiday to her National Cat Day to promote the cuteness and lovability of kittens but more importantly to create awareness of the need to adopt homeless and discarded kittens.
3. 1967 Number One Song—the number one song on this day in 19676 with 4 weeks in that position was “Windy” by The Association. Here is a recording of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPYT9Vyu62A.
4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day as we move from words beginning with “o” to words beginning with “p” is “philalethist” which means a lover of the truth a trait which most politicians avoid like the plague.
5. No Woodie Allen Three Yards and a Cloud of Dust--celebrating the birth on this day in 1964 of Urban Meyer former football coach of Bowling Green, Utah, Florida and Ohio State until his retirement after the 2019 Rose Bowl; noted for his spread offense, 3 national championships and only 1 of 3 coaches to win a national championship with 2 different schools.

(Speaking of Benedict the XVI.)” ― Dave Champion
