          1. Constitution Day —celebrating the adoption of the U.S. Constitution on this day in 1787 by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia—sadly, most of our politicians in the liberal wing of the Blues are clueless of its contents and today would be a good day for them to read, most likely based on their acts, for the first time.
           2. Times Up Day—commemorating an unofficial observance reminding someone that if you need to make amends for one’s acts, time has run out and that person needs to make amends today.
           3. 1982 Number One Song—celebrating the number one song in 1982 on a run of two weeks in that position Hard To Say I’m Sorry by Chicago.  Here is a link to Chicago performing Hard To Say I’m Sorry:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqq3tW3iACw
           4.  National Apple Dumpling Day—celebrating a unique way to fulfill one’s needed apple a day quota.
           5. Don’t Drink And Sing—bemoaning the fact that we all know one should not drink and drive while too often we ignore the dangers of great talents drinking and singing as exemplified by noted country and western singer Hank Williams, Sr., born on this day in 1923 who died from complications from alcoholism enroute to a concert at the age of 30.                                                                                                             On this day in:
            a. 1630 in a hold on to one’s baked beans moment, the City of Boston was founded.
           b. 1916 Baron Manfred von Richthofen (“the Red Baron”) shot down the first of his ultimate 82 victims near Cambrai, France.
            c. 1961 in a no more freezing or being drenched in the stands while watching football moment, the first retractable dome stadium, the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, opened.
            d. 1976 the first Space Shuttle, the Enterprise, was unveiled by NASA.
            e. 2001 after being closed on September 11 during the 9/11 attacks, the New York Stock Exchange reopened for trading, marking the end of the longest closure since the Great Depression—ten years later on the same date, the Occupy Wall Street erupted in New York City.
Reflections on the U.S. Constitution: “The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending against all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks.” Samuel Adams, one of the founding fathers, instrumental in the adoption of the U.S. Constitution.
