          1. International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer—another UN General Assembly declaration promulgated in 1994 to promote the preservation of the ozone layer which is the only thing that stands between us and deadly UV radiation.  
           2. Grito de Delores—commemorating the declaration of independence by Mexico from Spain in 1810.

You just put your lips together and... blow”.                                                                                                                                 On this day in:                                           
            a. 1880 the Cornell Daily Sun, the oldest independent college daily newspaper, published its first edition.
           b. 1920 a horse drawn wagon laden with explosives was detonated in front of the offices of J.P. Morgan in New York City, killing 38 and wounding 400.    
            c. 1959 Xerox introduced the world’s first photocopier on live television. 
            d. 1987 the Montreal Protocol designed to phase out the production and use of substances that were depleting the ozone layer.
            e. 1992 the trial of former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega ended with his conviction on charges of drug trafficking and money laundering and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
