December 5, 2021 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Repeal Day

RIDLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT December 5, 2021
CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 266 million at 266,033,972 cases,  21,097,264 of which are active, 244,936,708  closed with 239,669,205 recoveries (97.85%), and cracking the 5,000,000 barrier 5,267,503 deaths (2.15% ))to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 49 million at 49,955,823 with 9,633,152 active cases of which 13,744  are serious or critical, (8,599 on 3/25/2021) (back to steady decreases with upticks despite the  Delta variable to .143% of active cases and to decrease the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 15,527, 40,322,671 closures with 808,725 deaths (2.01%) and with 39,513,946 recoveries (97.99%). Our death rate percentage is .14% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady but slow climb to 2423 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5988) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting; Bulgaria the new number 2 (4190), Hungary (3649), Romania (2997), Brazil (2867) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down passed by Romania, Argentina (2548), and newly added to the list Columbia (2492),  and slightly better than Belgium (2330), Poland (2267), Mexico (2255), Italy (2224),  UK (2129),  Russia newly added to list (1926), (Chile (1990),  Spain (1885),  Ecuador newly added to list (1845), Portugal (1826), France (1825),  Bolivia (1615),  Sweden (1486) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1328).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  11th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2255/M with 349,337 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.31% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:     1219  Deaths/M   869
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 245,799  Deaths/M 1028
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   13,038  Deaths/M  579
US Vaccinations: As of 12/05/21 462.3 million doses,  .949 million per day (2 months left for 75% of population to be vaccinated) and in California 116,171  per day  (which means at least 79% of the population of California has received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 59,768,100 total doses have been given (84.2%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 80.4%), California has not moved from  8th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 63.3% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 59.4% and has  moved from 12th tied with Colorado to 14th   in terms of the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News:  Another of the dwindling numbers of the Greatest Generation who served in WWII, Bob Dole, has passed at 98 after a long career in the Senate and a run for president against Bill Clinton in 1996 at age 73 displaying an energy level and mental acuity compared to Joe Biden who successfully ran in 2020 but compared to Dole looks and acts like he is over a 100; three uniformed SPD officers were asked to leave Hilde and Jesse Restaurant in Feces City because they were wearing guns that “made the staff feel uncomfortable” and received an apology by one of the co-owners couched with the qualification of being welcome without guns (with shoppers in Feces City praying they won’t be in a store when the next smash and grab occurs the co-owner is out of her mind and if a 911 call ever comes from that restaurant the SPD should take their very sweet slow walk time to respond); Feces City, home of the first Omicron Variant case has found a new way to cope with the lawless surge of smash and grab gang thefts of retail stores—suspend the cannabis tax on dispensaries that was scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2022 (making it easier to stone out so residents are immune to the breakdown of civilization around them); Ethan Crumbley, the alleged shooter at Oxford High School, on the morning before the shootings that day was able to convince school officials that his violent drawings were for a video game and was allowed to attend classes where later that day he started shooting (look for a massive wrongful death suit against the school district and Crumbley’s parents); Alabama, Cincinnati, Georgia and  Michigan are headed to the Final Four for the Football Championship; in what may be a death wish for the Reds in Georgia, Trump has influenced 2020 defeated Senator Perdue who lost to neophyte Jon Ossoff to enter the Red primary for governor to probably face Stacey Abrams who lost but never conceded to Governor Kemp who is also running for reelection (Trump may be aping the old adage of Erasmus—“Women you can’t live with them, you can’t live without them”); as more and more staffers for “Chuckles Harris” are lining up to ape rats and leave a sinking ship, even Blues with her 28% approval rating and sinking are expressing concern over her ineptness and toxic work environment (maybe she should start crying sympathy tears rather than her chuckling cackles that make her look like an idiot); Ron Klain COS for Biden insulted the intelligence of the American people and confirmed his role as a total hack claiming MSM more favorable to Trump than Biden; AOC is dismissing the smash and grab surge of retail thefts that are plaguing the cities of this nation (like the story of “Peter and the Wolf” the more this idiot opens her mouth the more likely people will tune her out completely); Judges now have joined the list of jurors as targets in cases of police officers charged with excessive use of force trial as leftist activist Cortez Rice has been arrested for threatening Judge Chu who is presiding over the trial of Kim Potter for shooting Daunte Wright (ends justify the means running amok); while Blues cowering from AOC and the Squad seem to downplay the impact on safety of the smash and grab thieves terrorizing our cities, leave it to the political cartoonist to portray the reality of the situation:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through December 4, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4294 persons shot of whom 754 have died.

             4.  Word of the Day—the word of the day is “sisyphean” which means laborious, endless and futile which describes Biden efforts to sell his trillions of Bill Back Better as not being fully paid for and not adding to the national debt.
              5.  Do As Drawn Not As I Do—celebrating the birth on this day in 1901 of Walt Disney, noted animator and co-founder of the Disney Company who was heavy smoker of unfiltered cigarettes and of a pipe which none of his animations used and after being diagnosed with lung cancer in early November of 1966 and started cobalt treatments but to no avail and died on December 15, 1966 at age 65.
              On this day in:

              e. 2017 the International Olympic Committee banned Russia from competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics for doping its athletes during the 2014 Winter Olympics.              Reflections on the California Gold Rush: “From all over the planet they came…. They came in companies and alone, with money and without, knowing and naïve. They tore themselves from warm hearths and good homes, promising to return; they fled from cold hearts and bad debts, never to return. They were farmers and merchants and sailors and slaves and abolitionists and soldiers of fortune and ladies of the night. They jumped bail to start their journey and jumped ship at journey’s end. They were the pillars of their communities, and their communities’ dregs….”― H.W. Brands,  The Age of Gold: The California Gold Rush and the New American Dream

Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  11th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2254/M with 349,483 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.31% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):

Non  CV News:  First Andrew Cuomo had to resign in disgrace over mounting sexual harassment claims and finally CNN after being pressured to suspend Chris Cuomo for his journalistic missteps concerning his assistance to his brother which crossed the line by trying to dig up dirt on his brother’s accuser came to its senses and fired him effective immediately (totally appropriate response still a long way for CNN to go regain any sense of journalistic integrity given their hiring back after suspension of Tobin for masturbating on air during a Zoom conference); Stelter who is blind to any missteps of liberals and who had previously claimed Chris Cuomo had upheld the standards of journalism finally admitted that Cuomo had created a toxic environment at CNN; in a family that gets charged together in jail stays together moment the Crumbleys are in the same jail together; Oregon is moving toward a permanent indoor mask requirement; shocking evidence that Omicron trumps vaccines as over 50% of Norwegians attending a 120 person Christmas party for a company which limited attendees to fully vaccinated who had a rapid negative CV test within 24 hours of attending tested positive for COVID-19 with 13 testing positive for the Omicron Variant with those positive having either no or mild symptoms; Michigan players wore Jerseys that had logos of “42 TM” with 4 hearts to honor the Tate Myre and the other 3 student victims at the Oxford High School shootings to beat Iowa 42-3 in the Big Ten Championship Game top most likely earn a number 1 or 2 seed in the Championship Final 4; while Iran seems to be going pedal to the metal to enrich weapons grade uranium, a explosion was heard at the Natanz Uranium Enrichment facility with conflicting reports out of Iran as to explanations of cause; while out of touch Newsom and California’s AG Bonta are inanely stating the state has sufficient tools to confront the escalating smash and grab thefts that are plaguing this nation and California, D.A.’s and retail associations are singing a far different tune (doubt in Gascon or Boudin are joining the chorus unless the recall fears are getting to these pro-felons D.A.’s; top experts at the Reagan Defense Forum were sounding off that the manner of our Afghan withdrawal has severely damaged our credibility as reliable allies on the world stage (an opinion shared by most Americans except the tone deaf members of the Biden Administration and the leftist “pundits” that monopolize the airways of MSM); Adam Schiff is despicable liar that does not belong in the House but leave it to the political cartoonist to attack his lies with a Christmas line of humor:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through December 3, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4283 persons shot of whom 752 have died.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, factoids of interest for this day in history,  a recording link to “It’s Been a Long, Long Time” by Harry James and His Orchestra with Kitty Kallen, the fact that your actions do not merit aa siserary from your contemporaries; and a quote by Utah Phillips on free speech, secure in the knowledge that if you want to send a gift for any memorable events like Thanksgiving or Veterans  Day, college graduations, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient.              1.  SKYWARN Recognition Day—created by the National Weather Service and by the American Radio Relay League in 1999 and first observed on November 27, 1999 and thereafter on the first Saturday in December to honor the amateur radio broadcasters who alert the National Weather Service as to pending adverse weather events that could be dangerous to life and property where like in tornadoes advance warning can be brief in terms of lead time and so valuable to give people to be affected time to seek shelter.
             2.  Chester Greenwood Day—celebrated on the first Saturday in December to honor the Farmington, Maine inventor who at age 15 created an earmuff to enable him to keep his ears warm while skating and patented it at age 15 and founded a company that before his death was selling 400,000 ear muffs a year. In 1977 Maine declared December 21 to be Chester Greenwood Day but the City of Farmington still adheres to the first Saturday of December to celebrate the day.
             3.  1945  Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 1945 on this day was  “It’s Been a Long, Long Time” by Harry James and His Orchestra with Kitty Kallen on a run of 3 weeks non continuous in that position to join 8 other songs that achieved number 1 status. Here’s a recording of Harry James and His Orchestra with Kitty Kallen performing “It’s Been a Long, Long Time”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP0tHmoc1rs
             4.  Word of the Day—the word of the day is “siserary” which means scolding which describes what the Blue progressives could use although most likely it would not change their destructive policies.
              5.  Fox Troika  Rules MSNBC and CNN Drool—celebrating the birth on this day in 1961 of Sean Hannity a Fox News Host who along with Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingram rule Prime Time Cable News leaving the MSM competitors in the ratings dust.
              On this day in:
              a. 1945 having concluded that the failure of the U.S. to join the League of Nations contributed to World War II, the U.S. Senate voted 65-7 to join the United Nations which had been formed on October 24, 1945.
              b. 1964 800 students at University of California at Berkeley were arrested after seizing the Administration Building in protests to the Board of Regents banning protests on University Property.
              c. 1978 following the assassination of San Francisco Mayor Moscone, Diane Feinstein became the first female mayor of the city which she used to launch herself into the U.S. Senate where she has been since 1992 and is now the oldest person in the Senate at over 88 years having been born on June 22, 1933 with concerns over her cognitive decline.
              d. 1991 Pan American Airways ceased operations after flying for 64 years.
              e. 2017 the Thomas Fire started by So California Edison power lines near Santa Paula quickly grew to destroy 440 square miles, destroy 1063 buildings, take 2 lives and cause $2.2 billion in damages until contained on January 12, 2018 to become the largest wildfire in California history until quickly surpassed by other wildfires to now stand as the 7th largest wildfire in California history.
Reflections on the Free Speech Movement: “The state can't give you free speech, and the state can't take it away. You're born with it, like your eyes, like your ears. Freedom is something you assume, then you wait for someone to try to take it away. The degree to which you resist is the degree to which you are free...” Utah Phillips, an American labor organizer, folk singer, poet and self-described anarchist whose quote should be a wakeup call to conservatives under attack for speaking at universities and banned from social media.

Non  CV News:  As the number of states where the Omicron variant has been detected continue to spread, non-Americans entering the  U.S. will have to be tested but Americans will returning from abroad will not raising concerns that the door to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant is only half closed (but at the border where thousands of illegals from all over the world are streaming across no testing or vaccination requirements); Mark Meadows who has alleged Trump had tested positive before his debate with Biden has now agreed to cooperate with the House’s “Insurrection” Probe; Stacey Abrams whose only skill seems to be registering new voters has announced she will run for governor in Georgia; finally an American sports organization has risen above the seduction of a 1.3 billion consumers as the Women’s Tennis Association has suspended all tournaments in China following the disappearance of Chinese women’s tennis star Peng Sheui after she accused a top Chinese Communist official of sexual harassment (sports lap dogs like Commissioners Goodell and Silver should take notice and ape the WTA in dealing China; James and Jennifer Crumbley who had been charged with involuntary manslaughter arising out of the school shooting deaths caused by their son were arrested in Detroit and will be arraigned on Saturday; after prosecution in the Smollett trial rested on Thursday and the defense called a few witnesses, no testimony today on Friday with the Judge indicating that the jury would most likely be receiving the case on Tuesday (looks like Smollett will not take the stand as is his right); Biden keeps touting that “America Is Back” but evidently not in the workforce as only 210,000 jobs were added in November and the unemployment rate due to Americans leaving the workforce fell to 4.2%; as Omicron cases start to surge many wonder if its name was due to WHO not wanting to offend President Xi as a political cartoonist portrays that kowtowing attitude of WHO:

Bartender Appreciation  Day—created by Sailor Jerry Rum on December 2, 2011 and celebrated on the first Friday in December since to commemorate and honor those mixologists who create wonderful drink concoctions with sipidity and function as part-time psychologist and listeners to many of their patrons.
             2.  International Day of Persons with Disabilities—created on December 3, 1992 by UN General Assembly 57/3 to "promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities and to  also seek to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life."
             3.  1944  Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 1944 on this day was  “You Always Hurt the One You Love” by The Mills Brothers on a run of 4 weeks non continuous in that position to join 11 other songs that achieved number 1 status.              4.  Word of the Day—the word of the day is “siriasis” which means sunstroke which with rising temperatures of climate change may be an increasing problem in the future.
             5.  Smoking Is Never Fine—celebrating the birth on this day in 1914 of noted American composer and member of the Boston Six Irving Fine but who was a smoker who died from a heart attack on August 23, 1962.
              On this day in:
              a. 1979 at a Who concert at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, 13 fans are suffocated.
              b. 1984 in Bhopal, India a leak of  methyl isocyanate occurred from one of Union Carbide’s facilities that would cause 3800 fatalities outright and injured some 150,000-300,000, some 6,000 of which would die over time in what would be one of the deadliest industrialist disasters of all times.
              c. 1992 the world, especially for teenagers, became a smaller place and an engineer of the Sema Group sent the first text message over the Vodaphone Network to one of his colleagues.
              d. 1997 representatives from 127 countries signed the Ottawa Treaty, banning the manufacture, possession and use of land mines but China, Russia,  and the U.S. do not.
              e. 2021 New Zealand moved into the COVID-19 Protection Framework (Traffic Light System) which moved Auckland out of the lockdown for fully vaccinated people.                                 Reflections on the Ottawa Treaty which as of 2017 had resulted in the removal of 51 million landmines: “The 20th anniversary of the Land Mine Treaty should be a day to rededicate ourselves to completion of the goal of ridding the world of all landmines. The risk to ordinary people in Cambodia, Colombia, Bangladesh, Syria and countless other places around the world is one of the most serious threats to life and limb. Landmines continue to be a weapon of mass destruction and there must be renewed efforts to eliminate their violent impact on the vulnerable of the world.”- Hon. Lloyd Axworthy, PC, OC, OM, PhD and President of the University of Winnipeg

BELIEVE IT OR NOT December 2, 2021

CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 265 million at 265,161,612 cases,  20,987,355 of which are active, 244,174,257  closed with 238,916,284 recoveries (97.85%), and cracking the 5,000,000 barrier 5,257,973 deaths (2.15% ))to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.

CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 49 million at 49,878,049 with 9,606,688 active cases of which 13,714  are serious or critical, (8,599 on 3/25/2021) (back to steady decreases with upticks despite the  Delta variable to .143% of active cases and to decrease the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 15,557, 40,271,361 closures with 808,116 deaths (2.01%) and with 39,463,245 recoveries (97.99%). Our death rate percentage is .14% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady but slow climb to 2421 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5979) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting; Bulgaria the new number 2 (4185), Hungary (3649), Romania (2986), Brazil (2866) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down passed by Romania, Argentina (2548), and newly added to the list Columbia (2491),  and slightly better than Belgium (2326), Poland (2253), Mexico (2252), Italy (2222),  UK (2126),  Chile (1987),  Spain (1885),  Ecuador newly added to list (1845),  France (1824), Portugal (1821), Bolivia (1614),  Sweden (1486) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1323).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  11th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2252/M with 349,171 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.31% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:     1244  Deaths/M   869
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 245,978  Deaths/M 1028
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   13,040  Deaths/M  579
US Vaccinations: As of 12/01/21 460.8 million doses,  1.12 million per day (2 months left for 75% of population to be vaccinated) and in California 136,823  per day  (which means at least 79% of the population of California has received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 59,507,598 total doses have been given (84.4%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 80.5%), California has moved from  6th  to 8th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 63.2% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 59.4% and has  moved from 14th to 12th tied with Colorado  in terms of the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News:  The first confirmed case of the Omicron Variant of COVID-19 has been confirmed in SFO where a fully vaccinated and booster shot man has been infected and quarantined with mild symptoms; in the highly watched Mississippi abortion case, oral questions by conservative members of SCOTUS although not necessarily predictive on how they might rule seem to point to their upholding the law; President Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows in a soon to be released book has claimed that Trump had tested positive for COVID-19 before his debate with Biden, a charge Trump has labeled false; Republicans who were up in arms and threatening to shut down the federal government over Biden’s plan to require all companies with over 100 employees have those employees vaccinated as a condition to continue employment caved and agreed to fund the government until February 18, 2022 (the sound too often heard in the halls of Congress is that of a can being kicked down the hallways); in a it’s never too early to begin suing entities to advance your beliefs,
Sofia and André Oliveira,  Portuguese sister and brother teenagers have sued 33 egregious polluting countries including their own to force them to reduce pollution levels (aping young Swede Greta Thunberg as climate activists); the killer of Jacqueline Avant, 81, philanthropist and the wife of music legend Clarence Avant and mother-in-law to Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandosti,  Aerial Maynor, has been arrested thanks to neighborhood surveillance cameras and the fact he had shot himself in the foot following a burglary in Hollywood after the killing of Avant; Fauci continues to draw ire for his flip flops, his arrogance and super ego, involvement in painful experiments on canines, at best deceiving Congress over financing gain of function research at the Wuhan Lab, and ignoring natural immunity’s apparent superiority to that obtained by vaccines, leave it to the political cartoonist to cut through to the quick and reveal the real Fauci:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through December 1, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4261 persons shot of whom 747 have died.

Special Education Day—celebrated on this day since 2005 on the 30th anniversary of the execution by President Ford of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act which was passed to insure those children with disabilities could still have access to a public school education which they would need more than ever due to their disability.
             2.
International Day for the Abolition of Slavery—created by the UN General Assembly and first celebrated on this day in 1986 to promote modern forms of slavery like human trafficking, forced child marriage and child labor and forcing children to join terrorist groups as child soldiers.
             3.  1943  Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 1943 on this day was  “Paper Doll” by the Mills Brothers on a run of 8 weeks in that position to join 11 other songs that achieved number 1 status. Here’s a recording of  “Paper Doll” by the Mills Brothers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaMeSrynug0
             4.  Word of the Day—the word of the day is “sipidity” which means having a pleasing taste or flavor which certainly describes most Haagen-Dazs ice cream flavors.
             5.  Break a Leg on Tour Not a Great Thing—celebrating the birth on this day in 1960 of noted drummer Nicholas Charles Dingley better known to his fans as “Razzle” who was the drummer for the Finnish rock band Hanoi Rocks whose front man broke his ankle during the band’s second tour in the U.S. which caused the band to postpone several gigs freeing them to party on December 8, 1984 with members of the band  Mötley Crüe  at the house of Vincent Neil, the lead vocalist of the Mötley Crüe but after the alcohol had been exhausted Neil and Razzle headed to a liquor store with Neil driving with a blood alcohol of .17% and running into another car severely injuring the passengers in the car he hit and killing Razzle at the scene of the accident.
              On this day in:
              a. 1930 in a too little too late movement in his State of the Union Address as The Great Depression was increasing in its economic devastation, President Hoover proposed a $150 million public works project to create jobs and stimulate the economy.
              b. 1954 the U.S. Sino Defense Treaty was signed by the U.S. and the Republic of China relating to the defense of Taiwan which China increasingly emboldened by a perception of a weak and frail President Biden  seems to be inching toward an invasion of Taiwan.
              c. 1993 Pablo Escobar, infamous Columbian drug cartel leader, after escaping from a luxury prison in 1991 and had escaped detection was finally cornered and shot to death in a shootout with Columbian police and military forces.
              d. 2001 Enron filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy which at that time was the largest in American history until later surpassed by the World-Com Bankruptcy and destroyed the life savings of many employees who invested their 401 plans in Enron stock as encouraged by company officers.
              e. 2020 the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs removed cannabis from the list of dangerous drugs of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs.
Reflections on the Great Depression by a president who joked he was the only person to have an economic depression named after him: “Two courses were open to us. We might have done nothing. That would have been utter ruin. Instead, we met the situation with proposals to private business and to the Congress of the most gigantic program of economic defense and counterattack ever evolved in the history of the Republic. We put that program in action. Our measures have repelled these attacks of fear and panic. . . . We have used the credit of the Government to aid and protect our institutions, both public and private. We have provided methods and assurances that none suffer from hunger or cold amongst our people. We have instituted measures to assist our farmers and our homeowners. We have created vast agencies for employment.”― Herbert Hoover, Messages and Papers of Herbert Hoover."                                 Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet, and follow me) and follow my blogs. RIDLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT December 1, 2021
CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 263 million at 263,704,691 cases,  20. 20,485,505 of which are active, 243,219,186  closed with 237,977,853 recoveries (97.85%), and cracking the 5,000,000 barrier 5,241,333 deaths (2.15% ))to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.

Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  10th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2249/M with 348,048 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.31% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):

Non  CV News:  Ethan Crumbley, the 15 year old student charged with bringing a gun his father had purchased 4 days ago and shooting and killing 4 students and wounding 6 other students and a teacher, had his parents coming to school meeting with officials over their son’s behavior a couple of hours prior to the shooting (what sort of background checks would have prevent Ethan from getting a lawfully purchased firearm?); support for “Chuckles Harris” is full of buckles as Symone Sanders, another top staffer it what is becoming a very dysfunctional staff for a besieged VP has announced her retirement; Dawn Woods, the mother of Darrell Brooks who bailed him out prior to his replicated driving over and into people and the Waukesha Christmas parade, killing 6 and wounding over 40, is now blaming the system for not providing her son with mental health services over his 50 page long rap sheet career since 1999 (sadly she may be right as mental health services for the criminally inclined seem to be found far and few between in inadequate amounts); MLB managed to survive the COVID-19 restrictions that threatened to kill the sport and the fans but came out alive looking forward to 2022 only to have MLB contract expire and the players be locked out starting today (MLB needs a work stoppage or strike like a hole in the head); the bodies have not yet been buried and already idiots like disgraced Keith Olbermann is linking the shooting by Ethan Crumbley  to his mother’s 2016 support of Trump; abortion remains the most divisive and partisan issue that can rip this country apart that even members of SCOTUS lose their decorum restraint as Soto Mayor in responding to oral arguments was making the comparison to a fetus who reacts to pain of the abortion procedure to a brain dead person who has a reflex action to a strike on the knee or the sole of a foot (missed the point that the fetus has a whole life in front of him or her if able to exit the womb and the person brain will accomplish nothing in that state which will not change; after watching the nationwide push by teachers’ unions to cram CRT down kids throats, if parents were foolish enough that teachers unions cared about the best interests of their students, those thoughts should be purged as the Portland Teacher’s Unions is demanding Friday is a learn virally at home to ease teachers’ stress; Biden’s nominee for a position on the FCC has drawn outrage from Senate Reds over her positions that Fox News is the most serious threat to our democracy and the “Fair and Balanced” network never presents views conflicting with its conservative outlook (this idiot probably watches Fox at all and spends all her time glued to the MSM likes of CNN or MSNBC where conservative opinions are never heard; in the fight against COVID-19 fight the U.S. seems to be alone by not recognizing the effectiveness of natural immunity for those who have recovered and leave it to the political cartoonist to reveal why we seem to be putting all our eggs in the vaccine basket and ignoring natural immunity:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through November 26, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4249 persons shot of whom 743 have died.

Drugs and Martial Arts Don’t Mix—celebrating the birth on this day in 1951 of noted American jazz electric bassist Jaco Pastorius  who was a member of the band Weather Report in 1981 but who struggled with addiction and bipolar issues and after leaving Weather Report had difficulty holding down gigs and was often homeless and developed a bad habit of getting into bar fights  and coming out on the losing end of such self-induced encounters. After sneaking on stage at a Santana concert he was ejected on September 11, 1987 and after breaking a glass door at the Midnight Bottle Club for being refused entrance he got into a fight with an employee who was well versed in martial arts who broke several bones to his face and injured his right eye and left leg causing him to be taken to a hospital where he went into a coma, suffering a brain hemorrhage which left him brain dead to die on September 21 when taken off life support.
