Ruhle blasts dollar General for increasing prices because they can

With a degree in international business from Lehigh
One would think Ruhle had some knowledge of how businesses need profits to failures deny
After many years of peddling hedge funds and over financials trained to pour
The importance of cost of goods in determining profit she could not ignore
Or maybe to become a “journalist” she needed bias and flushed that knowledge down the drain
How else can her attack on Dollar Store for raising its prices explain
If cost of goods rise gross profit margins falls unless costs are reduced or  passed on
That businesses should do that if they have the power on her does not dawn
Profits that increase are a valued thing
Enables expansion and paying off debt and higher wages to the table bring
Like a true leftist she must think that profits are the root of all evils
When siphoned out by taxes from private sector she is most gleeful
As a public company with a stock prices to earnings link
And bonuses at executive levels linked to stock prices rising not in a sink
If earnings can be maintained by passing off some of the costs of doing business to increase
That benefits shareholders, workers, officers and the communities and the taxman as revenues do not cease

Time for her to return to her economic roots
And to policies, regulations and taxes that suppress economic growth give them the boot

RIDLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT November 25, 2021

CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 260 million at 260,087,175 cases,  19,777,302 of which are active, 240,309,803  closed with 235,112,797 recoveries (97.84%), and cracking the 5,000,000 barrier 5,197,006 deaths (2.16% )to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 48 million at 48,978,500 with 9,392,415 active cases of which 12,248  are serious or critical, (8,599 on 3/25/2021) (back to steady decreases with upticks despite the  Delta variable to .130% of active cases and to decrease the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 17,023, 39,586,085 closures with 798,391 deaths (2.02%) and with 38,787,694 recoveries (97.98%). Our death rate percentage is .14% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 2392 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5979) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting; Bulgaria the new number 2 (4040), Hungary (3501), Romania (2929), Brazil (2858) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down passed by Romania, Argentina (2544), and newly added to the list Columbia (2483),  and slightly better than Belgium (2294), Mexico (2241), Italy (2212), Poland (2175), UK (2112),  Chile (1976),  Spain (1879),  Ecuador newly added to list (1839),  France (1813), Portugal (1810), Bolivia (1605),  Sweden (1483) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1311).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  10th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2241/M with 344,876 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.32% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:     1965  Deaths/M  865
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 247,175  Deaths/M 1027
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   13,185  Deaths/M  576
US Vaccinations: As of 11/25/2021 454.4 million doses,  1.76 million per day (4 weeks left for 75% of population to be vaccinated) and in California 230,653  per day  (which means at least 78% of the population of California has received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 58,715,000 total doses have been given (83.4%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 79.5%), California has not moved from  6th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 62.8% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 59.1% and has  moved from 11th to 14th  in terms of the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News:  President Biden enjoying Thanksgiving at a multibillionaire’s private compound in Nantucket thanked farmers and frontline workers many of who he claimed were immigrants (illegal or illegals?) for putting food on out shelves and proclaimed “America is back” (somewhat of a hyperbole unless he was referring to his back which we tend to see after he walks away from speeches without answering any press questions); while millions of Americans struggled to celebrate the most expensive Thanksgiving ever, many on the MSM were slamming the holiday as a promoter of white supremacy and genocide (no holiday is immune from the cancel culture of the out touch MSM!); 6 people in Waukesha would be alive and 47 would not be recovering from injuries after being run over by black anti-white racist Brooks if Court Commissioner Cedric Cornwall, who unsuccessfully ran for judge in 2014: had not set Brooks’ bail at a ridiculously low level of $1000 given his criminal history and severity of his pending criminal action:

while Americans struggle with the costs of Thanksgiving, at least our troops overseas are enjoying a bountiful meal with all the trimmings; LeBron James who should stick to excelling in basketball instead of using his athletic superstar status to become a political pundit may have learned something after being suspended for 1 game for hitting an opposing player in the eye as instead of attacking 2 hecklers in courtside sides at Indiana at a Paces game complained to the refs and security to have them removed (we do not know what sin the hecklers committed but on social media LeBron has a new handle “LeSnitch”; the MSM that consistently blames gun deaths on the gun as opposed to the shooter was true to form as the SUV was blamed for the deaths and injuries caused by black anti-white racist Darrell Brooks (fortunately such idiocy generate a storm of social media ridicule); on the issue of inflation it is all hands of deck for the MSM to minimize the hits Biden and his Blues are projected to endure in 2022 by blaming shoppers and trying to obfuscate and minimize its effects (looking at poll numbers of Biden’s disapproval ratings soaring through the roof would indicate that Americans are not as dumb as the MSM believes them to be and are not buying the MSM’s snow job); the three men found guilty of Ahmaud Aubrey’s death in Georgia will now face next year trial for  federal hate crime and kidnapping charges; the wave of smash and grab thefts is not subsiding in California as 5 thugs stole $25,000 of high end purses from a Nordstrom’s in the Topanga Mall in Los Angeles, spraying the security guard who tried to prevent with bear spray (only a question of time before thieves emboldened by weak D.A.’s like Gascom and Boudin up the ante and start shooting; Americans living in cities with misguided ordinances designating them as “sanctuary cities” for illegals and suffering as a result at least can try to laugh at the symbolism of turkeys trying to ape pro illegals’ ordinance in this political cartoon:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through November 24, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4192 persons shot of whom 733 have died.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, factoids of interest for this day in history,  recording links “Do They Know Its Christmas” by Band Aid and “Piano Concerto in B Flat” by Fred Martin and His Orchestra, the fact that you far removed from being a Sinophile and opposing quotes on HUAC’s investigation of the Hollywood 10 by J. Parnell Thomas and the Hollywood 10,
secure in the knowledge that if you want to send a gift for any memorable events like Thanksgiving or Veterans  Day, college graduations, birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient.              1.
Thanksgiving Day—designated by the Continental Congress in 1777 and by General Washington following the defeat of the British at Saratoga in 1777 then as President in 1789 as the first designation by the federal government which repeated by successive presidents and state governments until President Lincoln designated the 4th Thursday of November in 1863 as the date of celebration which has since been followed each year.
             2.
Turkeyless Thanksgiving—clueless who or when created this observance which is not to promote a vegetarian or vegan Thanksgiving but to promote a different meat as the main course such as duck, geese, prime rib, or seafood to more closely ape the first Thanksgiving by the Pilgrims in 1621 which consisted of deer, geese, duck, pigeons, bass and cod and flint (a variety of corn grown by the local Indians); if you want to keep the turkey but adhere to some seafood, stuff the turkey with wild rice oyster stuffing.
             3.  1941  Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 1941 on this day was “Piano Concerto in B Flat” by Freddy Martin and His Orchestra on a run of 8 weeks in that position to join 10 other songs that achieved number 1 status . Here’s a recording of Freddy Martin and  His Orchestra performing “Piano Concerto in B Flat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckgH8UlIu1k
             4.  Word of the Day—the word of the day is “Sinophile” which means someone of admires China which after its involvement with COVID-19, its abuse of human rights and its desire to supplant the U.S. as a leading power whose numbers given China’s behavior are shrinking dramatically.
              5.  Doing What You Love To Do When the Time Comes—celebrating the birth on this day in 1951 of noted singer/songwriter Bill Morrisey who was a heavy smoker and drinker and who while on a musical tour of the South died of heart disease on July 23, 2011 at age 59.
              On this day in:
              a. 1947 the members of the Hollywood Ten were blacklisted by the movie studios.
              b. 1984 36 top musicians gathered at a Notting Hill studio to record Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas” to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia which in the first 12 months following its release raised £ 8 million: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3fSknbR7Y4

  c. 1986 Attorney Edwin Meese admitted the proceeds of covert arms sales to Iran were funneled to the Contra Rebels fighting the Sandinistas in Nicaragua.
              d. 1992 the Federal Assembly of Czechoslovakia voted to split the country in 2 to the Czech Republic and Slovakia effective January 1, 1993.
              e. 1999 a 5 year old boy Elian Gonzales, floating in an inner tube off the coast of Florida after the boat that he, his mother and Cubans fleeing Cuba sank, was rescued by 2 fisherman which prompted competing lawsuits by his great uncle in the U.S. and his Cuban father in Cuba for custody which was determined in the father’s favor prompting a predawn raid to remove him when his relatives in the U.S. refused to turn him over:

Reflections on HUAC and its contempt of Congress leading to the Blacklist: “The Constitution was never intended to cloak or shield those who would destroy it.” J. Parnell Thomas, Chairman of HUAC  “The United States can keep its constitutional liberties or it can keep the Thomas committee. It can’t keep both.” The Hollywood Ten. Sadly today conservatives have become the Hollywood 10 and the Social Media Giants like Facebook and Twitter have become HUAC.

RIDLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT November 24, 2021

CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 48 million at 48,848,156 with 9,336,656 active cases of which 12,196  are serious or critical, (8,599 on 3/25/2021) (back to steady decreases with upticks despite the  Delta variable to .131% of active cases and to decrease the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 17,075, 39,511,500 closures with 796,480 deaths (2.02%) and with 38,715,020 recoveries (97.98%). Our death rate percentage is .15% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 2387 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5978) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.26% of total cases now; Bulgaria the new number 2 (4023), Hungary (3382), Romania (2918), Brazil (2857) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down passed by Romania, Argentina (2543), and newly added to the list Columbia (2482),  and slightly better than Belgium (2290), Mexico (2239), Italy (2211), Poland (2107), UK (2110), Chile (1973),  Spain (1879),  Ecuador newly added to list (1839),  France (1812), Portugal (1809), Bolivia (1605),  Sweden (1483) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1309).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  10th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2239/M with 344,876 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.31% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):

                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   13,187  Deaths/M  576
US Vaccinations: As of 11/24/2021 452.7 million doses,  1.841 million per day (4 weeks left for 75% of population to be vaccinated) and in California 239,176  per day  (which means at least 78% of the population of California has received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 58,544,383 total doses have been given (83.6%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 79.9%), California has not moved from  6th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 62.8% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 59.0% and has  moved from 15th  to 11th in tied with Colorado in terms of the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News:  The town of Brunswick, Georgia can breathe easier as the jury in the trial for the murder of Ahmaud Aubrey found Travis McMichaels guilty on all 9 counts, his father Greg McMichaels guilty on 8 counts and their neighbor William Bryan guilty of felony murder (although like the Rittenhouse trial there were protestors before the verdict, unlike the Rittenhouse trial the prosecution performed excellently and the self-defense claim of the defendants was a farce and discounted by the jury); although the D.A. in Waukesha has blood on his hands for the miniscule bail that let Brooks out and just days latter kill 6 people and injure 47 others at a Christmas Parade, Biden seems to be doubling down on his desire to require cashless bail; as this poet suspected the social media posts in the past of Darrell Brooks reveal racist anti-white  posts calling for their deaths and praising Hitler for killing Jews (let’s hope the cashless bail D.A. in Waukesha is competent to add hate crime charges to the multiple murder and assault charges to if convicted either execute Brooks or confine him to prison without possibility of parole for the rest of his miserable life);  HRC once again when she opens her mouth proves she is so out of touch with Americans as she proclaims that we do not understand Biden’s “accomplishments” (au contraire as we understand his failing cognitive state and his complete lack of accomplishments as opposed to failures); while Americans are reeling under the inflation beast, Jill and Joe are off for Thanksgiving at the compound of  someone whose net worth of $4.6 billion makes him immune from the inflation woes being suffered—David Rubenstein, cofounder of the private equity firm The Carlyle Group; Biden’s release of 50 million barrels of oil from the strategic reserve which was created to survive oil supply disruptions caused by natural disasters or wars is rightfully by attacked as a political stunt which will do squat to relieve the price increases of petroleum products as long as Biden continues his war to curtail domestic production; the 95th Annual Macy’s Day Parade will be viewed live this year unlike in 2020 where it was viewed only on TV with the concern not of COVID but of winds that would ground the famous very large balloons; as deaths from COVID-19 under Biden have surpassed deaths during the Trump Administration Biden’s top adviser Ron Klaine has told Reds to “bring it on” if they choose to attack Biden’s handling of the pandemic; Russian troops are continuing to mass on the Ukraine border with 100,000 in potentially invasion jump off points; a recent study has revealed that CRT is being taught at many of the top 50 private K-12 schools; Biden in a photo op pardons two turkeys named “Peanut Butter” and “Jelly” leave it to the  political cartoonist to portray the fate of Americans this Thanksgiving on the proverbial inflation chopping block:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through November 23, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4181 persons shot of whom 730 have died.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, factoids of interest for this day in history, a  recording link to “Only Forever” by Bing Crosby and John Scot Trotter and His Orchestra, the fact that you rarely experience singultous moments; and a quote by Stewart Stafford on the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald by Jack Ruby,

Evolution  Day—commemorating the publication of on Charles Darwin’s The Origin of the Species on this day in 1859.
             2.
Blackout Wednesday—a day for primarily for college students returning home after going to college in the fall to celebrate often in excess with friends they have not seen since leavings but hopefully responsibly or with a designated driver to avoid the painful cost of a DUI.
             3. 1940  Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 1940 on this day was “Only Forever” by Bing Crosby and John Scott Trotter and His Orchestra on a run of 9 weeks in that position. Here’s a recording of Bing Crosby and John Scot Trotter and His Orchestra performing “Only Forever”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XpuTDDFnns
             4.  Word of the Day—the word of the day is “singultous” which means hiccupping which may be caused by eating and drinking too much during a Thanksgiving overindulging feast.
              5.  The Best Was Not Yet To Come—celebrating the birth on this day in 1941 of noted drummer Pete Best who was asked to join the Beatles in 1960 and played the drums with them until fired at the behest of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison on August 16, 1962 to be soon replaced by Ringo Starr. After dismissal Best played drums without much commercial success and left the business in 1968 to become a civil servant until he formed Pete Best Band in 1988  and is still performing today.
              On this day in:
              a. 1917 9 members of the Milwaukee Police Department and one civilian were killed by a bomb, the deadliest death toll of police officers in a single event until the attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11; the perpetrators believed to be anarchists were never caught.
              b. 1974 Lee Harvey Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby on national television in the basement of the Dallas Police Department Headquarters while being surrounded by Dallas cops and transported; he died from his wounds shortly thereafter.
              c. 1969 Apollo 12 which had landed Astronauts Conrad and Bean on the surface of the Moon while Astronaut Gordon orbited the Moon splashed down in the Pacific Ocean; while 10 Apollo Astronauts are still alive, Conrad, Bean, and Gordon have passed.
              d. 1974 Donald Johanson and Tom Gray discovered an Australopithecus  afarensis skeleton in the Awash Valley of the Afar Depression in Ethiopia that was 40% complete which they named “Lucy” after the Beatles’ song.
              e. 1989 after a week of protests and his rule
MiloÅ¡ JakeÅ¡ and his Politburo resigned in what became known as the “Velvet Revolution” bringing an end to Communist Party rule in Czechoslovakia.
Reflections on Jack Ruby’s murder of Lee Harvey Oswald: “Jack Ruby's assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald was the 1963 equivalent of the second plane hitting the Twin Towers on 9/11 - it turned a seemingly random act of violence into an orchestrated conspiracy, imagined in Ruby's case.” Stewart Stafford noted poet and author of The Vorbing and 400 often quoted quotations.

US Vaccinations: As of 11/17/2021 443.4 million doses,  1.27 million per day (up to 2 months for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 181,981  per day  (which means at least 76.8% of the population of California has received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 57,134,769 total doses have been given (83.8%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 79.8%), California has moved from 5th to 6th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 61.9% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 58.5% and has  moved from 14th   to 15th in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News:  the jury is still deciding Rittenhouse’s fate as protestors over his not having already been convicted scuffling with those believing in the rule of law and the right of self defense outside the courthouse probably withing ear shot of the demonstrations and the prosecutors and defense counsel in a snit fit over the prosecutors’ failure to provide video evidence from a drone on the night of the shootings which has prompted another motion for mistrial; the MSM especially Joyless Reid have swallowed the myth hook, line and sinker supported by idiotic statements from Biden that Rittenhouse is a white suprematcist and should be locked away for a long time (a white youth killing 2 whites and wound a 3rd white seems like a stretch to be labeled as the dreaded white suprematcist curse; the leftist rag NYT’s contributor Sarah Jeong has dismissed the historic level of inflation fueled by Biden’s spending and energy policies that is devasting the poor and middle class is merely a panic of rich people flipping their s**t over their parasitic assets being devalued (this “journalist” merits the Marie Antoinette “let them eat cake award” even she will retain her head); 11 Blues have seen the writing on the wall and have announced they will not be running for reelection in 2022 compared to 9 Reds; Mississippi executed its first inmate since 2012 David Lee Cox who shot and killed his estranged wife and sexually assaulted 3 times his 12 year old step daughter as she was dying (his execution occurred some 9 years after his conviction which probably was accelerated by Cox waiving his appeal rights and filing that he was “worthy of death”; with Harris’s approval ratings falling faster and further than Biden’s due to her incompetence, inane laughter to hid that incompetence and being MIA in her role as border czar, Psaki try to make a purse out of a sow’s ear claimed her poll numbers were due to sexism and racism; Aziza Graves, a prolific retail thief symbolic of the brazen shoplifting that is plaguing the Feces City has finally been arrested for stealing an aggregate amount of merchandize totally over $40,000 over a 2 month period; Gates is predicting what many conservatives have been saying for months that COVID-19 deaths will fall to will flu season levels (now that the overwhelming number of adults in the high risk age groups and in nursing homes have been vaccinated probably a good chance he is right; as millions of steel already paid for wall is rusting away and Biden inanely refuses to complete open gaps in the wall but yet demands a security wall be erected around his getaway house in Delaware, leave it to the political cartoonist to reveal the hypocrisy of Biden’s 2 opposed wall stances:

             1.
World Prematurity Day—observing the need to raise awareness for the problems created by preterm births on the child and the family from a condition that is the leading cause of infant death and affect 10 % of the global births and celebrated since 2011 and recognized by observers wearing purple on November 17..
             2.
International Happy Gose Day—
created in 2015 by  Gosenschenke “Ohne Bedenken” (Without Concern) to honor a tart wheat beer first produced in the town of Goslar in Saxony in the 13th Century to become one of Germany’s popular beers in the 19th Century only to fade away and production end in 1958 but in the 80’s it began in a comeback and is enjoying great popularity especially during the holidays.

             3. 1939  Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 1939 on this day was “South of the Border (Down Mexico Way)” by Shep Fields and His Rippling Rhythm Orchestra with Hal Derwin on vocals  a run in that position of 5 weeks noncontinuous to join 14 other  songs that achieved number 1 status. Here’s a recording of “South of the Border (Down Mexico Way)” by Shep Fields and His Rippling Rhythm Orchestra with Hal Derwin:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEiYgEfyiB0. Fields was a bandleader whose career spanned from 1931 through 1963 and was known for assembling “one of the most colorful bands in history.” Derwin was a prominent big band vocalizer in the 30’s who formed his own band in 1940 and ultimately took up residency at the Biltmore in Los Angeles for 6 years in the 50’s.
             4.   Word of the Day—the word of the day is “simpliste” which means simplistic or naïve which describes far too many of the inept members of Biden’s Administration like Buttigieg or Mayorkas.
              5.  A Byrd Can’t Fly For Long on One Wing—celebrating the birth on this day in 1944 of Gene Clark, a co-founder of the Byrds who was plagued with the deadly troika of drugs, alcohol and smoking and who died way too early from an ulcerous hemorrhage caused by his heavy drinking on May 24, 1991 after cheating death from the throat cancer he had be diagnosed with in early 1991.
              On this day in:
              a. 1968 in the infamous Heidi Game between the visiting New York Jets and the Oakland Raiders being aired on NBC with the Raiders trailing with a minute to go 29-32, NBC cut to its movie presentation of Heidi, depriving fans of the exciting come back of the Raiders scoring 2 touchdowns to win 43-32 to the outrage of the millions of fans watching the game.
              b. 1973 with a straight face President Nixon claimed before a group of 400 Associated Press editors that “I am not a crook.”
              c. 1993 the House of Representatives passed what would prove to become the worst trade deal in U.S. history in terms of lost American jobs The North America Free Trade Agreement.
              d. 2003 due to the successful recall of Gray Davis Arnold Schwarzenegger began his term of Governor of California.
              e. 2019 the first case of COVID-19 is believed to have been reported by a 55 year old Chinese man who had visited a wet market in Wuhan, China although given China’s deception and lies the date may not be certain but the pandemic results across the world sadly are.
Reflections on another nail in the coffin of the Queen in waiting for her coronation: It's extraordinary to me - you cannot name a presidential candidate in history who has singlehandedly, through bad trade deals, destroyed more American jobs and more American factories than Hillary Clinton. She did NAFTA, she did China's entry into the World Trade Organization, she did the South Korean 2012 deal - every single one of those. Peter Navarro, noted author and economist who also served in the Trump Administration

November 10, 2021 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Marine Corps Birthday

RIDLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT November 10, 2021

CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 252 million at 252,069,470 cases,  18,845,748 of which are active, 233,223,722  closed with 228,136,795 recoveries (97.82%), and cracking the 5,000,000 barrier 5,086,927 deaths (2.18% )to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 47 million at 47,630,955 with 9,170,649 active cases of which 11,328  are serious or critical, (8,599 on 3/25/2021) (back to steady decreases with upticks despite the  Delta variable to .124% of active cases and to decrease the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 17,943, 38,460,306 closures with 779,799 deaths (2.03%) and with 37,680,507 recoveries (97.97%). Our death rate percentage is .15% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 2327 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (596860) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.26% of total cases now; Bulgaria the new number 2 (3716), Hungary (3284), Brazil (2843) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down, Romania (2722), Argentina (2539), and newly added to the list Columbia (2473),  and slightly better than Belgium (2250), Mexico (2219), Italy (2197), UK (2082),  Poland (2071), Chile (1960),  Spain (1873),  Ecuador newly added to list (1832),  France (1803), Portugal (1794), Bolivia (1596),  Sweden (1477) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1295).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  10th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2219/M with 347,067 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.32% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:    3,016 Deaths/M  848
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 249,442 Deaths/M 1022
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   14,463 Deaths/M  567
US Vaccinations: As of 11/10/2021 433.2 million doses,  1.13 million per day (up to 3 months for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 149,110  per day  (which means at least 76% of the population of California has received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 55,671,028 total doses have been given (84.9%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 88.8%), California has moved from 5th to 6th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 61.9% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 58.5% and has  moved from 14th   to 15th in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News:  VP Harris once again has made a complete fool out of herself in Paris, a city noted for is disapproval of those who butcher the French language, as she talked to a group of French scientist at the Pasteur Institute about Biden’s De Plan for the environment (total cringe moment for Americans wondering how can someone so inept be given any tasks to solve); Even as Harris’s approval rating has sunk below that of Biden, Kimmel in a knee jerk reaction claims her low approval ratings are not due to her incompetence but sexism and racism; Joe Biden due to his cognitive collapse has become a mental midget as opposed to a mental giant but still this dementia infected president has the audacity to complain that Americans are not smart enough to understand the supply chain bottlenecks; Steve Sweeney the head of the New Jersey State Senate has finally conceded defeat to truck driver Ed Durr who spent $153 on his campaign with the words that should send shivers up the backs of all Blues seeking reelection that he “was crushed by a Red wave”; Kyle Rittenhouse took the stand to establish his the basis for his self defense  in killing a rioter that was point a gun at him as he was lying on the ground after a rioted knocked him down and another tried to kick him in the head after the judge lashed out at the prosecution for overstepping its bounds during cross (the MSM biased pundits that roasted Rittenhouse as a ruthless white suprematcist domestic terrorist after the event are looking more and more like fools); Newsweek like many of the MSM thinks that Stacey Abrams walks on water (although given her obese frame it must be very heavy or with high concentrations of salt) as it ran with a flattering article on her wondering if she can save the Blues again like her get out the vote registration drive managed to do in the Georgia Senate races that flipped the Senate Blue; another example of sports being corrupted by politics, Peloton is being accused of blocking users who want to link up with users spouting “Let’s Go Brandon” (now that the pandemic is subsiding and people can go outside and bike, might not be a good time for conservatives to forego purchasing the high priced piece of indoor physical exercise equipment); 2 days after a SpaceX capsule returned safely with astronauts from the ISIS, another SpaceX Falcon 9 launched successfully with 4 astronauts aboard with 4 astronauts and supplies headed to the ISIS; Judge Lee Yeakel, a Bush appointee, overturn Governor Abbot’s ban of mask mandates saying it violated the Americans With Disabilities Act; bringing some biological sense to the transgender movement, Red Governor Stitt of Oklahoma banned the issuance of nonbinary birth certificates; Austin’s COVID-19 requirements have forced the cancellation of its annual Veterans Day Parade that some 30,000 Texans were expected to have watched; MSNBC Stephanie Ruhle who drools bias, was Delusionally touting the economic progress made by the Biden Administration, oblivious to the highest inflation in decades and supply chain shortages that are now showing up- in near empty store shelves and hundreds and hundreds of container ships anchored off our ports waiting weeks to unload; like pulling teeth the Pentagon has reluctantly admitted there are dozens of family members of American troops still left in Afghanistan following Biden’s botched withdrawal; as motorists’ blood pressures rise and their wallets thin out over rising gas prices, leave it to the political cartoonist to place the finger of blame for the reason:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through November 9, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4031 persons shot of whom 702 have died.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, factoids of interest for this day in history, a  movie link to  “Change Partners”  by Fred Astaire, having to avoid being locked into being simpliciter when trying to negotiate solutions to issues; and a quote from Richard Nixon on Vietnamization of the Vietnam War,

             1.
Marine Corps Birthday—celebrating the formation of the Marine Corps by the Continental Congress on this day in 1775 with the first recruitment conducted at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia.
             2.
Sesame Street Day—proclaimed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg on this day in 2009, marking the 40th anniversary of the children’s TV program Sesame Street which is still going strong today to the joy of children today and the parents and grandparents who started watching in 1969.
             3. 1938  Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 1938 on this day was “Change Partners” by Fred Astaire on  a run in that position of 2 weeks noncontinuous to join 16 other  songs that achieved number 1 status. Here’s a film clip from the movie Carefree of Fred Astaire singing Change Partners”:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iv4CXIRs6Ec
             4.  Word of the Day—the word of the day is “simpliciter” which means without qualification or condition which probably explains why we have so much gridlock in Congress as few are willing to compromise.
              5.  Born To Be a Marine—celebrating the birth on this day in 1981 of Jason Dunham who following graduation from high school befitting his birthday date enlisted in the Marine Corps and while serving in Iraq on April 14, 2004  jumped on a grenade while his platoon was attacked to shield his fellow Marines and was severely wounded and died from his wounds on April 22, 2004 to be awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously on November 10, 2006 at the dedication of the Marine Museum National Marine Museum.
              On this day in:
              a. 1951 with the rollout of The North American Numbering Plan, telephone direct dialing was able to be introduced in the United States.
              b. 1970 for the first time in 5 years no American deaths occurred in the Vietnam War though plenty of South Vietnamese continued to die.
              c. 1983 Bill Gates introduced Windows 1.
              d. 1989 the Germans began tearing down the Berlin Wall.
              e. 1997 WorldCom and MCI Communications announced their $37 billion merger, the largest ever at that time.
Reflections on the Vietnamization of the Vietnam War: “The Vietnamization plan was launched following Secretary Laird's visit to Vietnam in March. Under the plan, I ordered first a substantial increase in the training and equipment of South Vietnamese forces.
In July, on my visit to Vietnam, I changed General Abrams' orders so that they were consistent with the objectives of our new policies. Under the new orders, the primary mission of our troops is to enable the South Vietnamese forces to assume the full responsibility for the security of South Vietnam.
Our air operations have been reduced by over 20 percent.” Richard Nixon, TV address to the nation on November 3, 1969

Our death rate percentage is .15% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 2326 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5967) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.26% of total cases now; Bulgaria the new number 2 (3694), Hungary (3261), Brazil (2841) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down, Romania (2675), Argentina (2538), and newly added to the list Columbia (2472),  and slightly better than Belgium (2241), Mexico (2216), Italy (2195), UK (2075),  Poland (2058), Chile (1959),  Spain (1872),  Ecuador newly added to list (1832),  France (1802), Portugal (1793), Bolivia (1595),  Sweden (1475) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1292).

                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 249,863 Deaths/M 1019
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   14,477 Deaths/M  565
US Vaccinations: As of 11/8/2021 432.1 million doses,  1.43 million per day (down to 2 months for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 187,653  per day  (which means at least 75% of the population of California have received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 55,616,757 total doses have been given (85.1%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 81.%), California has moved from 7 to 5th tied with New York of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 61.7% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 58.3% and has not  moved from 14th   in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
               Non  CV News:  Pelosi was working on her Marie Antoinette role attending a gala wedding and reception an Feces City with vaccinated attendees maskless as was she crammed like so many sardines while Newsom  and SFO Mayor London Breed were also there maskless;
McAuliffe’s defeat has not stilled the fires of outrage as parents flooded a Loudin School Board Meeting with a 2000 signature demanding resignation of the School Board President; Mathew McConaughey, who is vaccinated and contemplating a run for governor in Texas is withholding his consent for now over vaccinating his children wanting more information on the effectiveness and risk of the vaccine; too many Seattle teachers requested a day off after Veterans Day causing the school district to cancel Friday’s classes for in class and remote learning (collateral damage from the vaccine mandate?); a District Court Judge has denied Trump’s attempt to prevent the House Committee investigating the January 6 protests due to executive privilege but stayed his order pending appeal (Blues will do anything to have the investigation in full operation during the election next year); lying Adam Schiff got into a snit fit with a co-host of The View over Schiff’s role in the discredited Steele Dossier which he was pushing as if it were the Holy Bible as she questioned whether his credibility had been diminished; Brian Williams whose credibility was severely tarnished with his embellishments of a false rocket while in Afghanistan has announced his retirement from NBC and MSNBC to spend more time with his family (noble goal but would be enhanced if he spent some time learning how to become more of an objective reporter and less of an advocate); the heavy hand of censorship is alive and well at You Tube when it banned Rep. Issa’s speech on the grounds that it was spreading anti-vaccine myths when the only reference to vaccines was that American vaccines are superior to the Russian Sputnik vaccine; Pete Buttigieg who is the epitome of incompetence in the Transportation Department made a fool out of himself blasting the nation’s Interstate Highway System as racist; the Biden Administration is in essence telling the 5th Circuit of Appeals which enjoined his OSHA requirement that employers with more than 100 employees must require vaccines as a condition to employment or continued employment to pound sand as it is instructing OSHA to ignore the ruling and continue to try to force employers to require vaccination; the voters in Feces City are fed up with Soros backed liberal Chesa Boudin’s pro criminal policies and he will now face a recall on June 22 of this year; Newsom deserves some praise for putting family obligations like trick or treating  with his kids on Halloween over a climate change conference boondoggle in Glasgow and an award for the most appropriate costume to ape his lifestyle in dealing with private business—a pirate; as Biden’s poll approval numbers continue to drop due to a series of Biden engineered policy failures, leave it to the political cartoonist to portray the real cause:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through November 8, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4030 persons shot of whom 701 have died.

Reflections on the self-immolation of Norman Morrison: “Antiwar protests had been sporadic and limited up to this time and had not compelled attention. Then came the afternoon of November 2, 1965. At twilight that day, a young Quaker named Norman R. Morrison, father of three and an officer of the Stony Run Friends Meeting in Baltimore, burned himself to death within 40 feet of my Pentagon window. Morrison’s death was a tragedy not only for his family but also for me in the country. It was an outcry against the killing that was destroying the lives of so many Vietnamese and American youth.

I reacted to the horror of his action by bottling up my emotions and avoided talking about them with anyone –even with my family. I knew (his wife) Marge and our three children shared many of Morrison’s feelings about the war. And I believed I understood and shared some of his thoughts. The episode created tension at home that only deepened as the criticism of the war continued to grow.” Robert McNamara The Tragedy in Lessons of Vietnam
