December 3, 2021 Ridley's Believe It Or Not Bartender Appreciation Day

RIDLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT December 3, 2021
CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 265 million at 265,684,230 cases,  21,070,007 of which are active, 244,614,223  closed with 239,350,504 recoveries (97.85%), and cracking the 5,000,000 barrier 5,263,719 deaths (2.15% ))to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 49 million at 49,933,750 with 9,627,031 active cases of which 13,725  are serious or critical, (8,599 on 3/25/2021) (back to steady decreases with upticks despite the  Delta variable to .143% of active cases and to decrease the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 15,546, 40,306,719 closures with 808,608 deaths (2.01%) and with 39,498,111 recoveries (97.99%). Our death rate percentage is .14% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady but slow climb to 2423 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5987) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting; Bulgaria the new number 2 (4190), Hungary (3649), Romania (2992), Brazil (2867) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down passed by Romania, Argentina (2548), and newly added to the list Columbia (2492),  and slightly better than Belgium (2330), Poland (2266), Mexico (2254), Italy (2223),  UK (2128),  Chile (1988),  Spain (1885),  Ecuador newly added to list (1845),  France (1825), Portugal (1823), Bolivia (1614),  Sweden (1486) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1328).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  11th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2254/M with 349,483 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.31% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:     1219  Deaths/M   869
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 245,799  Deaths/M 1028
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   13,040  Deaths/M  579
US Vaccinations: As of 12/04/21 462.3 million doses,  .949 million per day (2 months left for 75% of population to be vaccinated) and in California 116,171  per day  (which means at least 79% of the population of California has received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 59,768,100 total doses have been given (84.2%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 80.4%), California has not moved from  8th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 63.3% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 59.4% and has  moved from 12th tied with Colorado to 14th   in terms of the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News:  As the number of states where the Omicron variant has been detected continue to spread, non-Americans entering the  U.S. will have to be tested but Americans will returning from abroad will not raising concerns that the door to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant is only half closed (but at the border where thousands of illegals from all over the world are streaming across no testing or vaccination requirements); Mark Meadows who has alleged Trump had tested positive before his debate with Biden has now agreed to cooperate with the House’s “Insurrection” Probe; Stacey Abrams whose only skill seems to be registering new voters has announced she will run for governor in Georgia; finally an American sports organization has risen above the seduction of a 1.3 billion consumers as the Women’s Tennis Association has suspended all tournaments in China following the disappearance of Chinese women’s tennis star Peng Sheui after she accused a top Chinese Communist official of sexual harassment (sports lap dogs like Commissioners Goodell and Silver should take notice and ape the WTA in dealing China; James and Jennifer Crumbley who had been charged with involuntary manslaughter arising out of the school shooting deaths caused by their son were arrested in Detroit and will be arraigned on Saturday; after prosecution in the Smollett trial rested on Thursday and the defense called a few witnesses, no testimony today on Friday with the Judge indicating that the jury would most likely be receiving the case on Tuesday (looks like Smollett will not take the stand as is his right); Biden keeps touting that “America Is Back” but evidently not in the workforce as only 210,000 jobs were added in November and the unemployment rate due to Americans leaving the workforce fell to 4.2%; as Omicron cases start to surge many wonder if its name was due to WHO not wanting to offend President Xi as a political cartoonist portrays that kowtowing attitude of WHO:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through December 2, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4277 persons shot of whom 748 have died.

             5.  Smoking Is Never Fine—celebrating the birth on this day in 1914 of noted American composer and member of the Boston Six Irving Fine but who was a smoker who died from a heart attack on August 23, 1962.
              On this day in:
              a. 1979 at a Who concert at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, 13 fans are suffocated.
              b. 1984 in Bhopal, India a leak of  methyl isocyanate occurred from one of Union Carbide’s facilities that would cause 3800 fatalities outright and injured some 150,000-300,000, some 6,000 of which would die over time in what would be one of the deadliest industrialist disasters of all times.
              c. 1992 the world, especially for teenagers, became a smaller place and an engineer of the Sema Group sent the first text message over the Vodaphone Network to one of his colleagues.
              d. 1997 representatives from 127 countries signed the Ottawa Treaty, banning the manufacture, possession and use of land mines but China, Russia,  and the U.S. do not.
              e. 2021 New Zealand moved into the COVID-19 Protection Framework (Traffic Light System) which moved Auckland out of the lockdown for fully vaccinated people.                                 Reflections on the Ottawa Treaty which as of 2017 had resulted in the removal of 51 million landmines: The 20th anniversary of the Land Mine Treaty should be a day to rededicate ourselves to completion of the goal of ridding the world of all landmines. The risk to ordinary people in Cambodia, Colombia, Bangladesh, Syria and countless other places around the world is one of the most serious threats to life and limb. Landmines continue to be a weapon of mass destruction and there must be renewed efforts to eliminate their violent impact on the vulnerable of the world.”Hon. Lloyd Axworthy, PC, OC, OM, PhD and President of the University of Winnipeg
