August 18, 2021 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National Bad Poetry Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not August 18, 2021

CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 208 million at  209,997,063 cases (209,154,963 yesterday); 17,438,759 of which are active, 192,558,417  closed with 188,154,877 recoveries (97.71% and 97.71% yesterday, and 4,403,540 deaths (2.29% and 2.29% yesterday) to continue the slow trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 38 million at 38,029,940 (37,781,323 yesterday)  with 7,060,088 active cases of which 20,978 are serious or critical, (20,597 yesterday and 8,599 on 3/25/2021) (now on a serious upswing due to Delta virus to .297 % of active cases and now a steady increase in the number of serious or critical cases to an decrease the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 8,293, 30,969,852 closed, with 641,205 deaths (2.07% and 2.07% yesterday) and with 30,328,647 recoveries (97.93% and 97.93% yesterday). Our death rate percentage is no longer stuck at 2.08% since July 12, 2021 and now .22% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 1924 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5899) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.26% of total cases now; Hungary the new number 2 has had a huge continuing surge in deaths with the increase now slowing down and improving slightly to  3.77% of its closed cases have died (3119), aping Hungary in terms of increase in deaths Bulgaria (2672),   Brazil (2668) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths and cases and passed us and Italy, Columbia newly added to the list  (2404),  Argentina (2396), Belgium (2172), Italy (2130), and Poland (1992),   and slightly better than the UK which we just passed on the 18th  (1922), Mexico (1913), Chile (1889), Romania (1800), Ecuador newly added to list (1776), Spain (1772), Portugal (1732), France (1727), Bolivia (1537),  Sweden (1438) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1253).
Tests: We have now conducted 560,959,115 tests (1,683,609/M) just passed by France at 1,708,132 who is now 1st  on a per capital basis for all nations (other than those nations that contain small populations like Bahrain, Denmark, Israel, Malta, Singapore and UAE) other than the U.K. which remains as king of the mountain with respect to tests at 3,795,367/M.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which has been passed by Argentina and newly added Columbia to move down to 12
th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 1913/M with a fatality rate of 9.18% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:  43,569 Deaths/M 616
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 208,767 Deaths/M 843
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   10,600 Deaths/M 431
US Vaccinations: As of 8/18/2021 358.67.34 million doses, up from .769 million per day to .774 million per day (down to 5 months to go for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 90,205  per day (89,347 yesterday) which means if the rate does not increase it will take us still some 4 months to have 75% of the population of California vaccinated which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 46,720,908 total doses have been given (88.1% of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 85.6%), but even with the pressure of a recall to be scheduled this fall which hopefully end Newsom’s term, California has not moved down from 15th  to 20th tied with Pennsylvania of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 54.5% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 51.0% has moved  from  15th to 16th   among the 50 states.  A long way to go still to get herd immunity in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states which means a great reason to recall this inept and hypocritical governor.
Non  CV News: Intel, the Pentagon and the State Department are into a crossfire of blame over the Afghanistan collapse triggered by Biden’s inane withdrawal execution and some 15,000 Americans are holding the bag at the mercy of the Taliban to be evacuated; Harris is off to Vietnam the scene of the 1975 fall of Saigon debacle but with insurances from the Biden Administration that she and her national security team will be actively monitoring the situation in Afghanistan  (since she is batting 0 on anything Biden has delegated to her not sure whether we should be moaning that she will be involved or ecstatic); really disturbing news that Biden dismantled a Trump era policy  to protect Americans abroad authorizing in June of this year the “
discontinuation of the establishment, and the termination of, the Contingency and Crisis Response Bureau (CCR)" (wonder if Biden must have felt the Americans in Afghanistan were Trump supporters whose life therefore was worthless?):MSNBC displays its fixation to always spin a Blue disaster into a Red attack as MSNBC commentator  Dean Obeidallah has the gall to compare Reds to the Taliban in terms of their attempts to control women’s choices on abortions (last time I looked Reds were not stoning women for not wearing a burka; a new form of Jim Crow has been imposed by De Blasio’s edict that non vaccinated people in NYC will not be allowed indoors regardless of immune suppressed conditions or that they have immunity due to prior infections (a very large number of the unvaccinated are blacks who will be barred like the Jim Crow South where “White Only” restaurants where the rule of the day);  Yamiche Alcindor a biased Blue “journalist in the Swamp is the only one on the planet who is praising Biden for his tail between the legs withdrawal from Afghanistan; with concern over the fallout of Biden’s poorly executed withdrawal plan feared to have dire consequences for us on the world stage, leave it to the political cartoonist to portray what foes may be looking forward to what’s next on the menu:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that
through August 17, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 2881 persons shot of whom 498 have died.

              1.  National Bad Poetry Day—created by Ruth and Thomas Roy of Wellcat Holidays to bemoan
bad poetry like the following
But, poor fellow, at home his father was lying dead
And his little brothers and sisters were depending upon him for bread
And one evening he was dismissed from his employment
Which put an end to all his peace and enjoyment.
The poor lad was almost mad, and the next day.
His parent’s remains to the cemetery were taken away;

And when his father was buried, distracted like he grew,
And he strolled through the streets crying, What shall I do!

Reflections on suffrage: “Let woman's claim be as broad in the concrete as the abstract. We take our stand on the solidarity of humanity, the oneness of life, and the unnaturalness and injustice of all special favoritism, whether of sex, race, country, or condition. If one link of the chain is broken, the chain is broken. A bridge is no stronger than its weakest part, and a cause is not worthier than its weakest element. Least of all can woman's cause afford to decry the weak. We want, then, as toilers for the universal triumph of justice and human rights, to go to our homes from this Congress demanding an entrance not through a gateway for ourselves, our race, our sex, or our sect, but a grand highway for humanity." Anna Julia Cooper, one of the most renown African American scholars who lived to be 105 years old.
