RIDLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT November 7, 2021
CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 250 million at 250,610,452 cases,  18,704,070 of which are active, 231,906,382  closed with 226,841,997 recoveries (97.82%), and cracking the 5,000,000 barrier 5,064,585 deaths (2.18% )to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 47 million at 47,336,587 with 9,228,410 active cases of which 11,227 are serious or critical, (8,599 on 3/25/2021) (back to steady decreases despite the  Delta variable to .122% of active cases and to increase the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 18,044, 38,108,167 closures with 774,218 deaths (2.03%) and with 37,332,949 recoveries (97.97%). Our death rate percentage is .15% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 2324 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5966) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.26% of total cases now; Bulgaria the new number 2 (3646), Hungary (3239), Brazil (2840) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down, Romania (2662), Argentina (2537), and newly added to the list Columbia (2471),  and slightly better than Belgium (2242), Mexico (2216), Italy (2194), UK (2074),  Poland (2058), Chile (1957),  Spain (1871),  Ecuador newly added to list (1832),  France (1801), Portugal (1792), Bolivia (1595),  Sweden (1475) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1292).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  10th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2216/M with 347,067 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.33% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:    3,622 Deaths/M  841
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 249,863 Deaths/M 1019
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   14,485 Deaths/M  564
US Vaccinations: As of 11/7/2021 429.4 million doses,  1.25 million per day (down to 3 months for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 157,997  per day  (which means  75% of the population of California have received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 55,197,093 total doses have been given (84.6%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 80.7%), California has moved from 7 to 5th tied with New York of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 61.7% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 58.3% and has not  moved from 14th   in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News:  With gas prices going through the roof the Biden Administration held hostage to its war of fossil fuels is considering shutting down a pipeline into Michigan that delivers 540,000 barrels of petroleum products from Western Canada (if these idiots go through with that action and we have a bitter winter voters are going to go through the roof when they can’t fuel their cars or heat their homes and businesses in 2022); with airlines already suffering staffing issues with pilots, pilots are already protesting the vaccine mandate which has been stayer by a TRO that has not yet been put into effect (if Thanksgiving flights are cancelled due to a shortage of pilots because of the mandate look for even more unhappy voters to take their wrath out on the Blues); the first lawsuit arising out of the stampeded at Astroworld that killed 8 attendees and injured hundreds has been filed by an injured attendee against rappers Drake and Travis Scott for inciting the crowd and also naming Live Nation and NRG Stadium; as expected the Packers without quarantined Aaron Rodgers lost 13-7; Clyburn on TV today ignored Biden’s mental failings and ineptness and blamed his low ratings due to the difficult time the country is facing; in another example of why parents are outraged, a high school teacher’s quiz seemed to blast conservatives with questions like this Identify a group of idiots (a) KKK, (b) all of Florida, (c) Fox News, (d) Texans; the San Francisco Chronicle headquartered in Feces City is raising the question of whether the city’s residents should learn to tolerate burglaries which are soaring as part of the cost of living in the city; Palin electrified the RNC when she called herself a hockey mom but in retrospect not as much connect as the parents in the Virginia governor’s race calling themselves “mama and papa bears” so leave it to the political cartoonist to portray the fear Blues should feel from outraged parents rushing to protect their kids from CRT:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through November 6, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 4007 persons shot of whom 693 have died.

Our death rate percentage is .14% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 2322 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5965) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.26% of total cases now; Bulgaria the new number 2 (3626), Hungary (3239), Brazil (2838) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down, Romania (2648), Argentina (2537), and newly added to the list Columbia (2470),  and slightly better than Belgium (2242), Mexico (2213), Italy (2194), UK (2073),  Poland (2057), Chile (1957),  Spain (1871),  Ecuador newly added to list (1835),  France (1801), Portugal (1792), Bolivia (1595),  Sweden (1475) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1292).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  10th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2213/M with 347,702 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.33% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):

                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   14,767 Deaths/M  5632
US Vaccinations: As of 11/6/2021 428.0 million doses,  1.67 million per day (down to 2 months for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 169,273  per day  (which means  75% of the population of California have received at least one shot which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 55,017,312 total doses have been given (84.6%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 80.7%), California has moved from 5th  to 7th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 61.6% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 58.3% and has not  moved from 14th    to 15th in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News: Thanks to 13 Reds who crossed the aisle to vote with the Blues other than 6 Squad members who vote no, the House “infrastructure” bill previously passed by the Senate passed in the House (do not be surprised to see those 13 face primary challenges); after calling reports of $450,000 payments to illegals who were separated from their children were “garbage” Biden has back tracked and seems to support such payments (another incentive for illegals to swarm here that he can’t understand); the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has issued a TRO banning Biden’s mask mandate requiring employers of more than 100 employees to require masks and a condition of employment; ten state AG’s have filed suit against Biden’s requirement that for all federal contractors, mask wearing must be a condition of employment;  at the Houston Astroworld Festival last night attended by 50,000 fans 8 attendees were killed and hundreds injured in a stampede by attendees when Travis Scott took the stage; voting on Biden’s mislabeled “Build Back Better” plan will be delayed until the CBO delivers its effect on budget analysis which should show a massive increase in the national debt; Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers has tested positive in his nonvaccinated body and will be quarantined and miss this weekend’s showdown with the Kansas Chiefs; on the war against COVID-19 front Pfizer has announced that a pill in studies reduces the hospitalization rate of people especially high risk adults by 90% and the company will be seeking approval by the FDA to have the pill subjection to prescriptions and bad news if one is a South Asian, British researchers have discovered a gene which 60 percent of them carry that renders the lungs less capable to respond to COVID-19 with increased risk of death; time to set one’s clocks back an hour before retiring to bed as daylight savings time comes to an end; Biden struggles to get trucks out of the ports to deliver supplies now waiting in the massive numbers of ship moored outside our ports, leave it to a political cartoonist to display where Biden does not want the needed trucks to go:

Learn to Homebrew Day—created by the American Homebrewers Association in 1999 to celebrate the fine art of homebrewing to create a distinctive brew free of the federal alcohol taxes and the bland tastes of large brew companies now seeing the writing on the wall and introducing or acquiring beers that taste like they have come from a microbrewery.

Here’s a music video of “Easy on Me” Adele: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3ASj1L6_sY.
              4.
Word of the Day—the word of the day is “sightworthy” which means worthy to look at which definitely did not describe Stanford’s performance Utah last night at home losing 52-7.
             5.
Rare Company—celebrating the birth on this day of one of only two professional football players who left professional football while we were engaged in hostilities after WWII to die in combat while serving his country in the military—Pat Tilman, a safety for the Arizona Cardinals who walked away from a $3.6 million contract after the end of the 2001 season and enlisted in the Army and during his second tour in Afghanistan was killed by friendly fire on April 22, 2004. The other player was James Kalsu, a starting guard who was the Buffalo Bills rookie of the year who joined the Army after the end of the 1968 season to satisfy his ROTC requirement and was killed in South Vietnam on July 21, 1970, during a mortar attack.
              On this day in:
              a. 1869 Princeton defeated Rutgers 6-4 in the first intercollegiate football game.
              b. 1900 Thomas McKinley and his running mate are elected in a Republican landslide that adds to their House and Senate majorities.
              c.  1947 the program Meet the Press on NBC and is now the longest running news program.
              d. 1995 Browns owner Art Modell announced he had signed a deal to relocate the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore.
              e. 2012 Tammy Baldwin, the first openly gay individual, was elected to the U.S. Senate from Wisconsin.

Reflections on life by Pat Tilman: “So use all that is called fortune. Most men gamble with her, and gain all and lose all, as her wheel rolls… A political victory, a rise of rents, the recovery of your sick or the return of your absent friend, or some other favorable event raises your spirits, and you think good days are preparing for you. Do not believe it. Nothing can bring you peace but yourself. Nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles.”

Our death rate percentage is .15% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 2319 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5965) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.26% of total cases now; Bulgaria the new number 2 (3626), Hungary (3239), Brazil (2839) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down, Romania (2627), Argentina (2537), and newly added to the list Columbia (2470),  and slightly better than Belgium (2239), Mexico (2211), Italy (2193), UK (2071),  Poland (2011), Chile (1954),  Spain (1871),  Ecuador newly added to list (1832),  France (1801), Portugal (1791), Bolivia (1594),  Sweden (1475) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1291).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  10th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2211/M with 346,815 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.33% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:    4,054 Deaths/M  835
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 249,738 Deaths/M 1018
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   14,772 Deaths/M  562
US Vaccinations: As of 11/5/2021 426.7 million doses,  1.10 million per day (down to 3 months for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 135,278  per day  (which means it will take us now less than 1 week to have 75% of the population of California vaccinated which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 54,856,623 total doses have been given (85.0%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 80.8%), California has not moved from 5th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 61.6% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 58.2% and has not  moved from 14th  in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News: The House will not be voting on the Build Back Better bill until due to pressure from the dwindling band of moderate Blues the massive spending bill has been scored by the CBO and the fate of the Infrastructure bill is uncertain as some 20 progressive Blues may be voting against it (Biden and the First Lady have canceled their escape to Delaware so Biden can pressure Blues  to vote for the Infrastructure bill); great news for Floridians as Reds now outnumber Blues in the state (looks like the high tax state Blues are staying in their home states and Reds are leaving in droves); a resolution condemning Cuba for its human rights abuses and stifling dissent was passed by the House 382-40 with all no votes coming from progressive Blues (although largely symbolic the 40 votes show where the progressives heads are at); in another example of why Americans are questioning who is running the Oval office, the White House Press Office continues to refuse to answer questions of whether Biden is in the loop considering the payments to illegals lawsuits against the nation purported to be $$450,000 each for damages due to separation of families; Fauci is facing new demands that he resign from PETA due to reports of animal abuse during medical trials (steal a man’s horse or mistreat his dog and one is in hot water which given Fauci’s arrogance and flip flops couldn’t happen to a more deserving person); in what is probably the tip of the espionage iceberg a Chinese spy
Yanjun Xu, a 41-year-old Deputy Director of China’s Ministry of State Security was convicted trying to steal GE trade secrets and espionage; Blues mindful of where their donations come from raised deductibility of SALT from $10,000 to $80,000 in the Build America Better; after Chicago’s tax on gun and ammo purchases was ruled to be unconstitutional city’s taxing authorities amended the statue to provide the revenue would used for programs to reduce gun violence and reinstated it; as Blues are still in a state of shock over their political hack Terry McAuliffe losing the race for governor despite tossing at every opportunity the race card despite the election of a black Red Lt. Governor and a black Red AG leave it to the political cartoonist to suggest that that card no longer plays well:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through November 4, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 3958 persons shot of whom 683 have died.

Word of the Day—the word of the day is “siffilate” which means to whistle which Lauren Bacall in To Have and to Hold asked Humphrey Bogart if he knew how to do.
              5.
And That’s the Way It Is—celebrating the birth on this day of Walter Cronkite, noted CBS journalist and anchor of CBS Evening News from 1962 until his retirement in 1981 and best remembered for his coverage of the Kennedy assignation, the assignation of Martin Luther King, the Tet Offensive and the first landing on the Moon and also as one of the most trusted men on television which journalists today in the MSM come nowhere near that level of trust.
              On this day in:
              a. 1922 British archeologist Howard Carter uncovered the tomb of Pharoah Tutankhamun in the Valley of Kings in Egypt.
              b. 1956 Soviet troops invaded Hungary to crush the Hungarian Uprising that had started on October 23, 1956 and when the shootings had ceased on November 11, 1956 some 2500 Hungarian freedom fighters had been killed, thousands wounded while inflicting over 2,000 casualties on the Soviets.
              c.  1966 the Arno River in Florence, Italy flooded leaving thousands homeless and destroying countless works of art.
              d. 1970 Salvador Allende became president of Argentina, the first Marxist to obtain a presidency of a county in Latin America as a result of an election.
              e. 1979 protesting the admission of the Shah into the U.S. for treatment of his cancer, Iranian students seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, taking 90 hostages, the last of whom would be released on January 20, 1981 minutes after the inauguration of Ronald Reagan.

Reflections on the Soviet Response to the Hungarian Uprising:  The situation was the same everywhere. Soviet tanks rolled in and started to shoot at every centre of resistance which had defied them during our first battle for freedom.
This time, the Russians shot the buildings to smithereens. Freedom fighters were trapped in the various barracks, public buildings and blocks of flats. The Russians were going to kill them off to the last man. And they knew it. They fought on till death claimed them.
This senseless Russian massacre provoked the second phase of armed resistance. The installation of Kadar's puppet government was only oil on the fire. After our fighting days, after our brief span of liberty and democracy, Kadar's hideous slogans and stupid lies, couched in the hated Stalinite terminology, made everyone's blood boil. Although ten million witnesses knew the contrary, the puppet government brought forward the ludicrous lie that our war of liberty was a counter-revolutionary uprising inspired by a handful of Fascists.
The answer was bitter fighting and a general strike throughout the country. In the old revolutionary centers - the industrial suburbs of Csepel, Ujpest and the rest - the workers struck and fought desperately against the Russian tanks. . .Armed resistance stopped first. The Russians bombarded to rubble every house from which a single shot was fired. The fighting groups realized that further battles would mean the annihilation of the capital. So they stopped fighting.” Report of Hungarian Journalist George Paloczi-Horvath filed with The London Daily Herald

RIDLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT November 4, 2021
CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues on an increasing basis with cases now over 249 million at 249,293,673 cases,  18,454,141 of which are active, 230,803,532  closed with 225,759,334 recoveries (97.81%), and cracking the 5,000,000 barrier 5,044,198 deaths (2.19% )to continue the low trend of increased cases with increased recovery percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus, dips, and rises.
CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 47 million at 47,179,199 with 9,217,338 active cases of which 11,834 are serious or critical, (8,599 on 3/25/2021) (back to steady decreases despite the  Delta variable to .128% of active cases and to increase the reduction from the 29,271 peak on 12/31/2020 to 17,437, 37,961,861 closures with 772,168 deaths (2.03%) and with 37,189,693 recoveries (97.97%). Our death rate percentage is .16% lower than the world’s death rate.
Standing: On a deaths per million population measure on a steady   but slow climb to 2317 the U.S. ranks behind Peru (5965) the new number 1 which has had a quantum leap in deaths previously unmatched which was a change in the classification to give Peru the a new method of reporting to have a fatality rate of 9.26% of total cases now; Bulgaria the new number 2 (3599), Hungary (3230), Brazil (2837) which has been hit with a rapid rise in deaths now slowing down, Romania (2602), Argentina (2537), and newly added to the list Columbia (2469),  and slightly better than Belgium (2238), Mexico (2210), Italy (2192), UK (2068),  Poland (2048), Chile (1954),  Spain (1870),  Ecuador newly added to list (1832),  France (1800), Portugal (1790), Bolivia (1594),  Sweden (1474) that never closed its economy down like we did, and Switzerland (1291).
Tests: No need to tally tests as testing programs are functioning well.
CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  10th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2210/M with 346,815 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.33% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:    4,428 Deaths/M  832
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 249,598 Deaths/M 1017
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   14,788 Deaths/M  561
US Vaccinations: As of 11/4/2021 425.3 million doses,  1.13 million per day (down to 4 months for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 161,691  per day  (which means it will take us now less than 1 week to have 75% of the population of California vaccinated which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 54,681,532 total doses have been given (85.3%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 81.1%), California has moved from 6th to 5th of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 61.5% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 58.1% and has moved from 15th to 14th  in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
Non  CV News: Biden apologized at the Glasgow Climate Change Conference for the U.S. pulling out of the Paris Agreement and was mocked by the Chinese who did not attend and who have no intentions of reducing carbon emissions until 2030 while indicating their reductions may be dependent on concessions; alarming report that China will have a 1000 nuclear warheads by 2030 and already has the largest navy; shades of Richard Nixon’s limo being surrounded by angry protestors in Caracas on a state visit as vice president as Senator Manchin’s car in a parking garage is surrounded by angry protestors demanding he vote for Build Back Better national debt busting bill; Durham has moved with speed of a sloth but another indictment and arrest of Igor Danchenko for 5 counts of lying to FBI on the source of material used in the bogus Steele dossier; in another example of the fraying of the strands of civility in the Swamp Senator Gillibrand has released to private phone numbers of members of the Senate to Meghan Markle so she could them as the Duchess of Sussex seeking their support on Build Back Better (how egotistical does this woman believe she is that her opinion carries any weight with senators?); in response to the Biden caused inflation surge, the City Council of West Hollywood, California has just raised the minimum wage to $17.64 the highest in the nation; the House is scheduled to vote soon on the infrastructure bill and the Build Back Better bill which face uncertain future in the House and more importantly in the Senate (sadly the bills have not been scored but it is apparent to most people that the bills are not paid for and will impose a significant increase in the national debt); reports are out that another 60,000 illegal aliens will soon be at the southern border and from the Biden Administration zero attempts to prevent their crossing into the U.S.; in a what’s in the name moment parents protesting CRT being taught to their kids are “domestic terrorist” but drug cartels are not classified as “terrorists”; Biden’s performance at Glasgow falling asleep and otherwise being a disaster would have won the carbon footprint award for having 13 cabinet members and staff with an 85 vehicle conference of SUVs to transport them (Zoom is ok for young kids but not bureaucrats to cut down on carbon emissions); as Blues are still in a state of shock over their political hack Terry McAuliffe losing the race for governor leave it to the political cartoonist to suggest a new state flag memorializing the reasons for the defeat:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through November 3, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 3955 persons shot of whom 683 have died.

Non  CV News: Virginia’s new black female Lt. World Jellyfish Day—clueless as to who created this observance or better yet why as these boneless creatures that are armed with stingers that are really painful are the bane of former seiners like the Alaskanpoet and save as the source of an ingredient seem to have little use on this planet.
              2.
Eat Smart Day—created in 2017 by the American Heart Association to promote awareness of what constitutes a healthy diet low in fats and salt and high in fiber, vitamins and minerals to promote a healthy long-lasting heart as transplantable hearts for people suffering heart disease are few and far between.
              3.
2019  Number 1 Song USA—the number 1 song in 2019 on this day was “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi  on  a run in that position of 1 week to join 15 other  songs that achieved number 1 status  and  9 other acts that achieved their first number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.  Here is a music video of “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCuhuePlP8o Capaldi was born in Glasgow in 1996, learned to play the guitar at age 2, starting singing in pubs at age 7 and has been in the industry since 2017, living in Scotland.
              4.
Word of the Day—the word of the day is “siccaneous” which arid or dry which describes the state of our forests in California due to our severe drought.
              5.
Kneeling Into Retirement—celebrating or bemoaning depending on your point of view the birth on this day in 1987 of Colin Kaepernick, former quarterback for the San Francisco 49’ers for 6 season best known for his sitting then kneeling during the national  anthem being played before the beginning of football games to protest police brutality against black and who left after the 2016 season when the team hired a new coach whose offensive plans did not include someone with his talents and has not been signed by any other team.
              On this day in:
              a. 1903 Panama separated from Columbia with support from the United States, paving the way for the U.S. to take over the construction of the Panama Canal which it did on May 4, 1904.
              b. 1969 as anti-Vietnam War protests swept the nation in increasing numbers after the Tet Offensive,  Richard Nixon spoke to the nation on TV asking the “silent majority” of Americans to support his policies for ending the Vietnam War.
              c.  1979 in Greensboro, South Carolina at a “Death to the Klan” rally organized by  members of the Communist Workers Party, 5 demonstrators were shot and killed and 10 wounded along with 1 Klan member. A state trial for murder and riot ended with all Klan defendants being acquitted as did a federal trial for violating the protestors civil rights.
              d. 1986 the Lebanese newspaper Ash-Shiraa  reported that the U.S. had been secretly selling arms to Iran in an attempt to free 7 hostages held by pro-Iranian groups in Lebanon.
              e. 2014 One World Trade Center officially opened on the site formerly occupied by the Twin Towers destroyed on September 9, 2001.

Reflections on the shootings in Greensboro which became known as the Greensboro Massacre: We believe the truth and reconciliation process in Greensboro opened up the debate around Nov. 3, 1979, in a positive way and has successfully engaged a broad spectrum of the community in an effort that offers hope for reconciliation. As a Commission that looks a bit like Greensboro in microcosm, we found that this process –and our own struggle to hear and understand each other- had a profound impact on our perceptions of the issues we explored. Our individual and collective commitment to the truth helped us persevere. And the human stories and emotions we encountered along the way moved us to do our best to leave behind a legacy we hope will serve Greensboro for years to come. We cannot say what the future will hold for this community or what the long-term impact of this process will look like, but we hope that this process also serves as a learning tool for others in this country who, like Greensboro, are burdened by a legacy of hurt and inspired by the possibility of honestly coming to terms with their own history.               CV Open Gate: Lost in the pronouncements by Biden and his lackeys  that there is no crisis of illegals surging across the border is that fact that COVID-19 is alive and well and spreading in the Northern Triangle and Mexico which is  10th  on my list of deaths from the pandemic  at 2206/M with 385,347 active cases and a fatality rate of 8.34% of closed cases and the 3 countries in the Northern Triangle in terms of active cases and deaths per million are as follows even though the data may be suspect as underreported (regardless of number we need no more cases):
                     Guatemala:  Active Cases:    5,787 Deaths/M  822
                     Honduras:    Active Cases: 249,255 Deaths/M 1012
                     El Salvador:  Active cases:   14,813 Deaths/M  55r
US Vaccinations: As of 10/31/2021 420.7 million doses,  1.08 million per day (down to 2 months for 75% of population vaccinated) and in California 126,767  per day  (which means if the rate does not increase it will take us now only  4 weeks to have 75% of the population of California vaccinated which many believe is necessary to develop herd immunity (other than Flip Flop Fauci who may believe that 90% is required).  In California 54,091,213 total doses have been given (85.4%  of doses received to exceed the U.S. average of 81.2%), California has moved from 4th to 5th  tied with Colorado  of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of doses administered as a percentage of doses delivered to the states and at 61.2% of its population fully vaccinated compared to the U.S. average of 57.9% and has moved from 15th to 14th in terms of getting vaccines received into arms and the percentage of the population fully vaccinated compared to other states.
               Non  CV News: Om the G20 front the world leaders have called for a 15% minimum corporations tax and Biden held a press conference with a crib sheet of reporters he called on (had crib sheet of talking points which raised question of whether questions in advance were presented to assist him); was it due to the need for naps or time for the energy boosters to take effect but Biden was consistently late for meetings including his press conference; Biden’s coughing in his hand and then shaking hands of supporters in line may have claimed its first victim as Psaki has tested positive for the virus although he tested negative after her infection ; with polls showing Youngkin leading him, McAuliffe in desperation has shifted gears from the anti-Trump card of Youngkin being a Trump clone to trying to argue his record when he was governor (touted the fact he had 5 children in the public schools when in fact 4 went to private schools which with vouchers like Youngkin advocates children in failing urban schools choking under the iron fist of the teachers’ union would have the same opportunity); McAuliffe must know he is in trouble when the liberal NYT does not conceal but actually prints photos showing miniscule crowds at his rallies compared to Youngkin’ s; as pundits on the left are calling upon the super wealthy to pay more in taxes and sell some stock to alleviate hunger, Elan Musk tweeted he would gladly do that if an accounting were made on where the money would go and how its expenditure would alleviate hunger (when has the government or the UN ever done something efficiently compared to private enterprise?); the kill the golden goose mentality of the Blue one party mentality in California has resulted in Tesla planning to move its corporate headquarters to Austin; going up the escalator Biden had a question about the $450,000 per separated child the Biden Administration is mulling around and true to form was speechless and could only scratch his head; on a Southwest Airline flight from Houston to Albuquerque the pilot ended his message with “Let’s Go Brandon” which prompted a firestorm of criticism from the MSM and an investigation by Southwest Airlines (the shortage of pilots aggregated by the vaccine mandates may save the pilot’s job and merit only a reprimand; NYFD firefighters to the tune of 2000 have been going on sick leave to protest the vaccine mandates that will impose sanctions on the unvaccinated starting this Monday; the Astros overcame a first inning grand slam and the leftist despised tomahawk chops to beat the Atlanta Braves 9-5 to force a 6th game on Tuesday;
as the chant concealing profane thoughts on Biden, “Let’s Go Brandon” sweeps the country and has morphed into a number 1 rap song, leave it to the political cartoonist to link the anti-vax movement with the slogan and potential for cancelled flights due to pilots terminated for not taking the jab:

Chicago Gun Violence: Hey Jackass.com is alive and well to collect data to show that through October 30, 2021, gun violence involving mostly persons of color shooting mostly persons of color in Chicago is alive and well with 3923 persons shot of whom 675 have died.

Reflections on Veganism: “Veganism is not about giving anything up or losing anything; it is about gaining the peace within yourself that comes from embracing nonviolence and refusing to participate in the exploitation of the vulnerable”
